About Rob Brown, first he never scored 50 with Mario (49 is close but not it), and he was dominating the WHL his last 2 years, finishing with 212 pts in 63 games on the last one, 66 pts ahead on the 2nd best. So I don't think Mario made him, I think Brown made Mario a near 200 pts scorer.

He is my hero as well, he is the pinnacle of what a hall of fame player should be, truly amazing, he could score with 3 men hooking him and holding him, newer NHL fans that hop on the Sid or Ovy bandwagon haven't watched vintage Mario. I'm only 18, but I watch all his old videos when I can, he's the greatest, without a doubt in my mind, and he's saved his Penguins team, not once, but twice. Because it was a different time. If Mario would have remained as healthy as gretz, he would have crushed gretzky's numbers, surely you must know this.
Its just the Penguin's theme played in the arena when the team comes on the ice, etc. This is the newer "metal" version, but other versions of it existed as long as I can remember.
You can't just look at stats. Look at his whole life. Gretzky had a perfect team to work with his whole life. Mario had the worst team in the league most of his life. If you would have put them both together in the same playing environments for the whole time you would see that they are both great hockey players. You cant compare them, Mario gets less attention because he had it hard with health and everything.
Mario is better than Gretsky. Think of his illnesses, the team he played for, and all his injuries. If he played full seasons; played for the old Oilers; and didn't have cancer he would have beaten most of "The Great One's" records.
There are pucks out there still hurting from Mario's one timer.

In my opinion, Mario is the greatest ever. Had it not been for injuries and Hodgkins, I feel that he would've broken many of Gretzky's records.
His humanitarian side and the amazingly generous and kind man he is far outweighs his hockey greatness.
