  • stop moveing them around. I know us green thumbs tend to hover over new project's but they don't really like to me messed with too much. Oh one more thing what's the temps around your bucket. These guys like about the same temps as we enjoy. But draft's are a bad thing. GL hope I helped!

  • Thanks for all the ideas. Besides the bedding, there were a bunch of stems from greens in there (kale, arugula, etc). Hoping that these make it, but not looking good so far.

  • A double broiler style container set up is much easier. One storege container with a brick inside and an additional container with the worms, their starter compost ect. The top bin should have drainage holes and air holes. Drill like 20 holes in the bottom (space evenly of course) and a few medium size ones on the sides. This will relieve most worry with moisture. Secondly... what are you feeding them? It looks like you have an awful lot of paper in there... maybe test the soil and DEF continued

  • Oh, my Gods! Worm abuse!

  • They are dyin to get away from me. The words gotten out.

  • Yeah just put them back in the light..they'll say in the bottom of the bucket..and I think a non transparent bucket is better.

  • Thanks. This is the third pound that I've gone through this. Hopefully can salvage.

  • worms will try to escape if it gets too wet- too dry- also.....the light helps keep them in place. you could cut a couple of squares in the plastic and glue some screen over it for more air and then keep the lid on too....don't give up...

  • Hopefully the remaining ones will last. This is the third batch that I've gone through this with. Thanks for the encouragement.
