This sounds a bit like crossover thrash / thrashcore in terms of the speed of the vocals. But it's definitely death metal in terms of the brutality of the song itself. MAGGOTS!

@AdmiralGFM Yeah the members of Cannibal were in thrash bands before this, and they were finding their bearings in what CC's music was going to be like. The vocals sort of have a thrashy way to them and the speed of the instruments. They said they found out what they wanted to be like at the end of Butchered at Birth/Tomb of the Mutilated, thats why that album is fucking brutal.

I love CC and I like this song for the most part, but I don't really like how some of the drums are kinda outta rhythm, and I know they had a different approach on the vocals back then, but I'm not a huge fan of them. I love when Chris got deeper on the next album though.

i wish cannibal corpse wouldve stayed more in the "trash" vein like on this record. im not bashing them honestly. i like this era of the band the best. chris barnes' vokills on the next few records went so deep in my opinion it took away from the heaviness. i find the harsh barking type vokill more nasty and sick. when its so low its inaudible i think it makes it less brutal. just sayin
