Nothing against you Bwana, good review. But, we are social networked to death! Pinger just feeds into the uselessness of needing to know what everyone else is doing. Plus, I cannot get 3G where I am at, so there is no sense in me buying an iPhone yet.

Hey Takeme2urmac,

I work at Pinger, and I can answer this question for you.

At first we were (stupidly) using terms and conditions that were an all in one version that also covered a WAP social networking service, Pinger Social (where, of course, your info is shared).

Now we have separate terms and conditions for Pinger Phone and Pinger Social.

Excerpt from our T&Cs for Pinger Phone:

"Personal information ... is NOT made publicly available by Pinger without your express approval."

Hi Airsoftmp5pro,

You can do everything with Pinger Phone on an iPod touch that you can with an iPhone EXCEPT make calls and send text messages.

BUT - there is a feature we call IM-to-mobile where you can send an IM message to a mobile phone. The recipient gets and sends a text message on their phone (which counts against their text messages), but to you it's just like having an IM conversation (without texting fees).

Pinger good app. I mostly use it for txt's and IM's. Since I use pinger not just for my personal use, even at work!!! There is some bad things with it though. Sometimes when i try to log on, it would take me such a long time to load the profile! or is it just me? If any one is experiencing this problem and has a way to fix it, please message me.
