This wasn't a rescue mission. If it had been all in the better interests of Iraq, the US would have dealt with things far differently. Yes, Saddam NEEDED to be taken out, but what was not necessary was the complete invasion and deculturalization of Iraq. America does not own the planet, and as much as it can use it's resources to help those that need it, it can't simply assume that it then has every right to stay there and raise the "baby" however it wants.

This wasn't a rescue mission. If it had been all in the better interests of Iraq, the US would have dealt with things far differently. Yes, Saddam NEEDED to be taken out, but what was not necessary was the complete invasion and deculturalization of Iraq. America does not own the planet, and as much as it can use it's resources to help those that need it, it can't simply assume that it then has every right to stay there and raise the "baby" however it wants.

If we plan on a withdrawl prematurely (surrender) before we've acomplished our mission (second mission, to eliminate the terroist threat in new Iraq), the terrorists will just sit and wait until we leave, then take over the government there.

We are not only there for the Iraqi people, as we were for the people of Poland, Italy, France, Vietnam and Somallia, we are there for our country and the advance of freedom throughout the world. If we allow Islamic radicals to overrun the Iraqi government, we would set up a furute of having to fight them somewhere else, matbe here, from their base of operations in Iraq.
