  • wow ok to learn to cast a bait caster goto youtube.com/watch?v=fKqCzgvgWl4&feature=related

  • retard

  • Haaaaaave aki no Brasil qualquer criança arremeça melhor que esse cara, any child in Brazil throws better than this guy. ブラジルのすべての子はこの男よりも良いスロー

  • I love you

  • Decent video with wrong title.

  • how do you choose a gear ratio?

  • Hey I didn't know Larry David was a bass angler.....

  • thanks

  • Just wondering if anybody knows a good baitcaster combo for throwing light baits for around $100?

  • @freshtosaltfishermen Best cheap reel is the Abu Garcia Silver Max. It was my first baitcaster and I still use it. Then grab a St. Croix triumph 6'6" casting rod. About 110-120 bucks.

  • thanks soooooooo much:)))))

  • Do all reels have those brakes?

  • I'll stick with my spinning reels, gets the job done and no backlash

  • he is the only left handed fisherman ive seen on youtube lefties ftw

  • @BUSTERZEUS1 im a left handed fisher :)

  • Awesome Video. I had no idea you can select how many brakes you can use in a Bait Caster. That said, maybe I can reduce my backlash. Thank you so much for this info.

  • cool didnt know about the breaks... Thanks a lot im going to go look at a reel right now lol

  • I bought a 60 dollar rig and it's driving me up the wall. Please no remarks saying I need to get the 200 dollar rig to do fine - because I'm just wanting to learn with the cheaper one. It's driving me absolutely insane - it will backlash before it even hits the water.. so it's not a matter of me not putting my thumb on the spool to stop it. Maybe I'm using too light of a lure? I'm just using a medium/small jig head with a rubber tube around it.. the guy at Runnings said Baitcasters were good..

  • @iSamPk use heavier line

  • @iSamPk wen u uesing a lure. wen u about to cast make sure that the lure goes down slow wen ur rod is up at a 45de's ang

  • @iSamPk..... May i ask which Runnings store did you go to? im just curious cause i work there and there is a limited number of them around minnesota and i was astounded that someone said runnings.

  • @fishingmaster7 Willmar - near St. Cloud

  • @iSamPk i got a cheap one too ull learn it just give it time...make sure ur tension knob is very low

  • i threw the manual away once i got it and wasted 40 dollars worth of line man thats a kick in the neck.

  • OK, this video was NOT about "How to Cast a Bait Casting Reel".

This video was showing and talking about a bait casting reel.

  • 日本語でおk

  • no matter what i think, both the centripetal adjustment and the spool adjustments are basically the same thing. But if someone could finally explain to me in a way to really convince me good, I will change my mind.

  • @dookiekong007 Centripetal braking is a 'dynamic' brake. The little pins inside fling outward when the reel spins. The faster the reel spins the more braking force is applied. This is important because as line is unwound from the spool, the diameter will decrease causing the spool to speed up. This phenomenon can be easily experienced by spinning in a chair while moving your arms and legs closer to your center of mass. Centripetal braking helps to prevent this speed up and resulting backlash.

  • @dookiekong007 I'm gonna second guess this. Ok...I know its just fishing and not physics, but now I'm curious and maybe someone down that road can confirm this. The speed up while sitting in a chair is simple conservation of energy. As mass moves closer to the orbit center it must move faster to maintain the same kinetic energy. Difference in the spool is that mass is leaving and taking the kinetic energy with it as the line is ejected. Theoretically this should not cause speedup...right?

  • @dookiekong007 Well sort of. They both react against the spool, but react differently. The centripetal drag creates friction against the whole side of spool causing more drag, it's a larger surface about 1" or so. Spool adjustment acts only against the little pin that goes through the spool, less area maybe 1/8" in diameter. Yes you really do have to adjust both for proper use. Just go buy one and see for yourself, then you will understand it more.

  • i like his hat

  • good video

  • im tired of watching this Mormon commercial at the beginning of every fishing vid

  • 0:01

  • what bait do u prefer for catfish

  • FUCK Baitcast Reels! They suck.

  • hey for a good lure website check out kylesbaitshop.webs(dot)com

  • Good video introducing the parts of the reel but not giving info about actual casting. might be better to change a title :X

  • i have 2010 Shimano Curado CU201E7 reel and ABU GARCIA VERITAS VRC70-5 7' MEDIUM CASTING ROD but im new in casting i Usually used spinning gear you can tell me or give me link for better info for this like :

where is good places (Beach,Boat,Lake) for fishing with baitcasting what lure or bait i need 2 use, what line should use for my gear , and tell me please if i can use those gear like spinning gear i mean if i can Throw from beach and pot on stand

    TY much :p

  • @eldad12345 Just go out and cast it's really easy once you get the hang of it and most people overcomplicate it.

  • i thought reels like this (the ones that sit on top of the rodl, rather than on the side) were meant for trolling rather than casting ? i dont have a boat i fish off shore or in waiters should i get one of this style of a standard "side " reel? thnks

  • ive just got a baitcaster reel and only spent a day or two learning how to cast it and now ive got the casting down to a T ill only go back to a spinning reel if me baitcaster brakes. smallmouthman i had the same problem as you to start with but once i set the reel up right i had no probs just keep working at it bud.

  • Bait casters are a pain.... ive bougt over 1000$ in baitcasters from some good brands... i put on a small rapala lure that i can cast on a spinning rod perfectly.... i try and cast it on this and it acts like your throwing a feather, it doesnt go NOWHERE.... if you want a decent baitcaster good luck cause they are not worth it

  • @SmallmouthMan756 you weren't casting them right......

  • @SmallmouthMan756 u know u have to make adjustments

  • I've really learnt how to How to Cast a Bait Casting Reel

  • keep on talking..

  • So much negativity by these posters. It's called a "Lead-In." It costs a lot of time and money to make videos. This Lead-In is on YouTube so you will follow it to the site, and pay for the full length video. There is nothing wrong with that. The man is supporting his family, and deserves to make a living just like you do. If you already know the info, just move on, and save the nasty remarks for when you backlash.

  • @wccjanel

that's not it, the whole video is actually uploaded in the channel, the thing is that they chopped it up in tiny stupid pieces the the owners of the channel probably don't even watch, so they just name it whatever and you never get to watch a full video in the right order or understand anything from it

  • @wccjanel I call these "lost leaders"...agreed by the way

  • @wccjanel but its youtube not advertisementube, this is pretty much spam unless it says "lead in" or "clip" in the title as far as i'm concerned

  • title says how to cast, he aint showing me how to cast, change the title idiot.

  • Blah blah blah too much talking less action.

  • The guy in this video makes several false statements about bait-casting versus spinning reels. If he just prefers this type of reel that's fine, but he shouldn't be spreading misinformation. Spinning reels can do anything that bait-casting reels can do and even more.

  • I am now a lover of bass fishing, I found so great information on a site called bassfishing101 dot weebme dotcom , they offer free info, check it out

  • If its about the anatomy just say anatomy of baitcasting reel This is NOT about how to cast a baitcasting reel. And stop talking in circles.

  • I have not used that reel and see that I have to keep the manual close when using it the first month. I like using heavier lines since it is easier to pull the line free of limbs or roots than the ligher line which keeps breaking on me.

  • your'e teaching beginners to use a right-hand wind American style multiplier

-totally wrong! Left hand wind multipliers are far more natural (like 99% of fishermen use left-hand wind fixed-spool reels), and its time to end this total American Con that has been going on for over 50 years now, the BIGGEST CON ever in the history of reel technology

  • @darkmossie633 myself & every body i know uses right hand wind reels, so get your facts straight before you criticize you fuck tard!!

  • @dayummitssam

they use right-hand retrieve multis as they are misinformed.

left hand wind as with fixed-spool reel is more natural

-keep driving on the dangerous side of the road just to be DIFFERENT too, where your hands are in the wrong place for strength and co-ordination

bye the way, there was no need to sign your message

  • @dayummitssam

to further my point you complete idiot, can't you realise that with a right hand retrieve multiplier, you have you're weaker left arm (90% of people) doing the hard pumping in of fish, whilst your stronger, more co-ordinated right arm is doing the light job of just turning the reel handle?

  • @darkmossie633 I don't think its so much as a "con" as it is the simple fact that when baitcasters were first invented, those who made them liked the crank on the right side.... Ever since then, that's been considered the standard way. Also, when I first learned I tried using left hand cranks (I was used to spinning reels), and it didn't feel right with a casting set up. I have yet to figure out why it feels better with a casting reel to reel on the right side, but I honestly think it does.

  • "skeeter" lol

  • 6,692 videos? wow, now i know why youtube is so slow for me, monkeyseevideos is slowing it down with a million videos lol

  • damn it, i dont really like using heavy lines, im more used to using 6lbs or 4lbs lines with a spinning reel, but i really want this.. but oh well, lets just see what happens..

  • your going in circles buddy

  • Carry spare line and clean !

  • these adds by google suck its like a damn tourist trap i didnt sign on to this vid to be trapped by a commercial-great vid btw

  • u didnt even teach us how to cast it

  • he spends the whole video on the anatomy but never talks about casting

  • question,

when im buying a bait caster and im right handed what do i get left hand retreive or right hand retrieve i cast with my right hand

  • @surferioz Catr with right,crank with left.

  • So the advantages are light weight, ability to use larger test line and heavier lures, better fighting leverage for fish, and better accuracy. Drawbacks are higher prices, increased possibility of snags/backlashes/wind knots, increased complexity of casting, and anything else?

  • @hanserclimbs much more sensitive and better control like you can slow down the lure and even stop it mid air with just your thumb and you look like a pro with one lol

  • I really like your videos a lot, you put a lot of work into them, It's people like you that I respect.

  • so where is the casting lesson? only idiots like you dont realize there is a place and time for both spinning and casting rods and reels. I guess some people dont like casting reels because they get tips from dips like you.

  • so guys like other reels, i use mostly other kinds. Baitcastors are nice though.

  • i now how to cast

  • Abu Garcias i can just cast like any other rod you dont even have to brake it with your thumb but quantums and shakespeares i cant even cast em man

  • look at my how to cast a baitcast video. i caught a gar on my first cast

  • @MRbassmasterman You lucky devil!!

  • @joel5673ify , hey guess what guys, STFU

  • awsome vid man thank you

  • Wow...this video has absolutely nothing to do with CASTING a baitcaster.

  • i bought a 700 gold pole and i didn't know until this video how to use it.

  • Thank you for the video very very helpful!!!!

  • I don't see any vids of people using a baitcaster, when shore fishing. Should it only be used when fishing on a boat?

  • It is really a taste thing. There are pros to a baitcaster that some shore fishermen like to take advantage of. But the spinner is so much easier to use.

  • @noysauce Baitcasters can be used anywhere shore or boat.

  • I do the same thing i just can't fish it the other way around

  • im right handed and cast with my left and reel with my right. its a weird thing to do

  • This video right hear helped me use a baitcaster in a day or two.

  • Very Helpful Video!

  • "baitcasters are able to throw heavier baits like big spinner baits and jigs" i can throw my biggest jig i have with a spinning reel QUITE far.

  • I hated baitcasters for a long time. Stupid backlash cost me like over 500 yards of line in the 2 years i've tried to use them. sadly, still cant set the casting knob and cast far. went back to spinners.

  • Deceptive title. Now I will NEVER visit your site. Dipshit!

  • @quellmetoo words of wisdom

  • @quellmetoo So right! crappy way to get someone to watch a video

  • @quellmetoo lol wow, calm down. the title is for this one might be deceptive but the 3-4 other videos (just look at the sidebar suggestions) are quite helpful.

  • @nmigliore not like he is gunna respond for this comment u made on his comment from 1 year ago

  • Can you swap the handle round so it is on the left instead of right on these reels?

  • no, you have to go buy a lefty.

  • Thanks!

  • np!

  • thats caught a righty its opposite

  • @WEESTRAWZ No you have to either buy them with a left or right handle

  • Ok cool.

Would a right handed person use the reel on the right or the left?

  • i do. i use my right hand to cast and left hand to reel, instead of casting with my right, then switching to my right hand to reel.

  • @WEESTRAWZ I personally have used both but it all depends on what is more comfortable with you... If you are right handed I would buy a baitcaster with the handle on the left so you don't need to switch hands after each cast.

  • @doublebaggin17 thanks for alll the replys.

I will hopefully now get a right-handed bait castr(reel on left).

  • @WEESTRAWZ the one with the handle on left is called a left hand retrieve,Im right handed and use the left hand reel :P

  • @WEESTRAWZ right

  • @WEESTRAWZ left

  • Left

  • Waste of time... just found a real baitcasting video... very helpful and not a scam... look up bass edge quick tip.. baitcasting mike webb... Much better and not a scam.

  • What an "effing" waste of time... doesnt even show how to cast as the title says... just that you should visit another website to actually see the casting video... SCAM... stop lying and wasting my time. bitch

  • well I was wondering why my baitcaster was skipping when I reel it in? I looked and I seen that it skips on the guide part and it looks like it dug in and made it make lines into the guide bar that goes back and forth on. what have I done?

  • Listen boys i may only be 23 but i have had a rod n'reel in my hand since i can remember. You wanna get true casting and performing ability outta these take them brakes OFF release the tension let that lure fall fast when u hit the button. LEARN HOW TO PITCH. This will HIGHLY improve your casting ability becuase it will help train your thumb a whole lot, and will really help your casting ability, as far as knowing thumb pressure. One day you will be settin lures in the water with no splash.

  • doyouhaveanyideahowgayyourare

  • doyouhaveanyideahowharditistotypewithoutusingthespacebar pretty easy.....

  • I bought a REVO s about a year ago and had just about given up on it and switched back to my Sedona spinning. Now after watching this video I set my brakes using 4 and Its a breeze!! Great video thanks!

  • doyouhaveanyideahowharditistotypewithoutusingthespacebar!!!

  • its pretty easy, actually

  • Yep. I learned to use it with the second throw. Abu Garcia ambassadeur 6k is a good reel

  • is it just me, or did i miss the tutorial on how to "cast" a bait casting reel?

  • yeah dude forreal

  • Good tips , thanks !

  • im currently using the new ryoga from daiwa for my bait caster and shimano cardiff 100a... it was so so so cool.. try it!

  • i use an ambassaduer 4500 w/12 lb trilene on a 5' med action berkley lightning rod. i can put a 1/2 oz spinnerbait in a coffee can from 70' more times than not.

i can also cast a curve and a slider, like a baseball, except in heavy wind. not bragging, just explaining that baitcaster doesn't have to be expensive or fancy to do the job well. the only things i can't make it do are cast light lures or skip on the surface without backlashing.

  • i mastered a baitcaster in 2 fishing sessions put 4 brakes on and tighten the knob by the spool so the lure doesnt fall maybe a little bit and cast just remember to thumb the line right before it hits the water its not hard at all just set the brakes and youll be fine and probably won't use your spinning real again!

  • agreed

  • man why dont we all make our lives simpler and use spinning reels

  • what reel is that?.. im thinking of getting a daiwa exceler with the 7.1:1 gear ratio

  • Comment removed

  • i havent got many backlashs but i cast difffernt but i like the spinning reels better

  • The title of this vid says "How to Cast a Bait Casting Reel" and I didn't see any casting. Thank you very much!

  • talk about the ole "bait and switch" I waited forever on my crappy internet connection to NOT hear anything about "casting" my bait caster

  • yeah...um....

    me+baitcaster=BIG MESS!

  • i just tried that stealth line its crap windy day get your knot skills out dam it sucks

  • stleath line????

  • some baitcasting reels are no good when casting towards the wind ..myb you lure is to heavy or to light ...use your thumb to stop the spool from spinning ..that will help you not get backlashes....or myb the line your using is to thick or myb your simply trying to cast to hard...practice in your backyard ..that way you wont get frustrated when at the lake.... hope i helped haha

  • bait casters rule i love how they can hold heavy line. today i caught a 5 pound 20 inch carp up close on 14 pound berkely trilene xl

  • if i grab the rod with my right hand, and spin with my left, do i but a left handed reel?

  • try both before buying... i bought a left handed baitcast reel cos i use a left hand spinning reel, but its not the same, i should´ve bought a right handed baitcast...

  • i use the same hands for spinning reels but i hold the rod in my left hand

  • uhhhhhhhh k how do you cast it? like it says in the title? you just showed us the reel..

  • i had that reel but i striped the gears when i caught a sting ray

  • if u need a good line that wont ever backlash get spiderwire stealth, i got invisibraid and its incridible! no line memory at all less than power pro and i tried to get backlash and it wouldnt worjk!

  • ive seen that stuff is it any good?

  • it is better for bass then fishing with spinning reels

  • i got 30lb spiderwire stealth..it is nice

  • heres a little advice use a heave rig or any thing is heavy

  • i use zebcos for bass fishin and bluegill closed face i have to say are the best for that use catt maxx bait casters for catfishin all together baitcasters are the best reals

  • HEY HEY HEY, everyone stop arguing and take my advice. i like to put a baitcaster and a spinner reel on the same rod. that way i get the best of both. now, it is tricky when you catch two fish at the same time with this setup, but fun nonetheless. enjoy!

  • wat the fuck?

  • A joke people.

  • I was like an open faced reel but that is all I have ever used so i am comfortable with it, but i keep hearing all this hype about bait casters and i am looking into one from quantum so i am trying to do as much research as i can to not only find a good quality reel but also one that will work for a newcomer to baitcasting and also one that will be a good fit for my semi-aggressive fishing style. any tips or ideas please feel free to send me a message

  • baitcasters r better because better reels and better rods

  • baitcasters ftw. They are the best reels around and sooo easy to cast.

  • spinners are the best

  • dont waste ur time watchin this

  • gotta cat fish with a baitcaster
