man, you got a warwick, its ugly to play with pick, you may have heard that a lot of times, but i got to tell you, that with fingers is better. with fingers you can play like havin pick, but with a pick you cant play like playin with fingers. :)

you can also use a pick for a shrill sound (high)

i play without this peace of plastic but its helpfull too if you want to play something fast

i wud recommend a warwick bass to you man, wether it be a 4 or 5 string. i have a warwick corvette 5 string and a recently purchased warwick streamer 4 string. only problems with warwicks is their price!

I'm in a ska band and I'm trying to get down how to do the bass. I've been playing for a few years and I know some sweet stuff, but I never learned theory. I know it just from experience, but I dont realize that its theory. I feel like I should learn scales and stuff and that could help me. Do you have any tips on writing ska bass lines?

the best advice i was told was to know your notes, scales and all tht, then play about with it, find what fits and suits your style of playin in your band, groove always helps :D

its all because of a delay on my camera, i filmed it with my digicam and for sum reason it plays the music ok but me playing is sometimes slower or faster than the music im playin but i can assure you its all me. check my other vids to see the same effect.

i like it but i dont hear the ska influence...ska bass is closer to reggae...unless ur playing more of a 3rd wave ska...which IMO is just punk with upstrum guitar and horns- ie- less than jake
