ancient people believed thunderstorms, earthquakes and the like were either god themselves or punishment of god. Today we know there are perfectly natural reasons why such things exist. Lack of knowledge or explanation for something doesn't mean the knowledge of the unknown doesn't exist. In the case spirits and demons one cannot say anything for certainity because many claims are often dubious. there just isn't enough people investigating superantural forces like demons or spirits.

It is worth examining which hypothesis can be proven when tested against all of the natural observations we have available. Is it plausible that all of the genetic diversity we can easily observe within mankind have been born out from only 2 donors of material. Using easily replicated tests and observed traits using the sum of knowledge of biological science would say it is not.

ancient people believed thunderstorms, earthquakes and the like were either god themselves or punishment of god. Today we know there are perfectly natural reasons why such things exist. Lack of knowledge or explanation for something doesn't mean the knowledge of the unknown doesn't exist. In the case spirits and demons one cannot say anything for certainity because many claims are often dubious. there just isn't enough people investigating superantural forces like demons or spirits.

I think maybe he seems confident but then you can be confident about things that you can prove or have evidence of. As for giving god a try I think that most people would say I gave him a try, I spoke to religious people I know, I prayed and read the bible.Not for any short time either, around 3 months. To you god rules is a fair statement but me saying there is no evidence is also fair.

@hercules101 it is not a matter of proving whether persons did or did not exist - that would be futile. It is worth examining which hypothesis can be proven when tested against all of the natural observations we have available. Is it plausible that all of the genetic diversity we can easily observe within mankind have been born out from only 2 donors of material. Using easily replicated tests and observed traits using the sum of knowledge of biological science would say it is not.

those women are exercising their right to make decisions for their own body by willingly undertake the procedure. they are not forced with guns to their heads. if you take away the option of safe and professional medical terminations then you will start to see unfortunate cases where woman die from performing their own abortion procedures or receiving it from some unqualified backyard clinic. You will be risking the lives of thoses women and therefore 'embryos' living inside them.

Further more I think we should unite but follow Dawkins his tactic.. He says people should come to atheism themselves without any pressure.. I think he is right... However I do think human kind can use universal points of agreement, which could also help atheism, things like never kill, everyone on the planet must eat etc..

If you train yourself to turn off your capacity to think logically in a religious context it becomes easy to do so in other contexts as well. BTW the only legitimate justification for killing anyone is to save someone else's life. Dogmatic religion is the worst thing that has happened to humanity and will properly be the cause of our extinction.
