Props to the bass clarinet. Holding that up without a neck strap takes some serious thumb strength. Shit I used to play bass clarinet every day for a few years... WITH a stand. And my thumb was still fucking strong. That man must be a god.

@president808 its not an "improvement". you say that like the clarinet came first and the sax came afterwards because people wanted a "better" clarinet. clarinets and saxophones are different instruments and each has its own unique sound so it depends on the sound you want and/or need in an ensemble

The Clarinet and Saxophone are different, play in different keys, and have completely sounds. And by the way, why are you watching this if you like the saxophone...

@GermanBrontosaurus You sir, are full of crap. Bass clarinet is like the Bb Clarinet, easy to learn on, hard to play well, just more so than the Bb Clarinet. Try playing altissimo on bass clarinet. A hell of a lot harder than Bb Clarinet. I'm the best clarinet player in my marching band and bass clarinet in my primary instrument. I also play alto sax.

FYI, Saxophone is the easiest instrument to play.

@GermanBrontosaurus Just because the parts written are easier doesn't mean the player sucks. Ever heard of a loud bass clarinet player? There are very few, I'm one of them. All 3 of my solos last year on my bass clarinet were 10 times harder than any of the solos written for any of the clarinet players. (Who couldn't play them.) Now, go practice.

Yeah, that's good......and it's HARD to play the bass clarinet standing up--it hurts your neck and wrist. I play the regular B flat clarinet, and I've played bass clarinet before, but for bass clarinet, I can only play sitting down and using a neck strap and/or a floor peg/endpin/whatever it's called.
