  • secular office... loved that!!!

  • i love your decoration style

  • using royal icing, are these edible? they are hard & not as tasty as the buttercream frosting

  • You cannot wrap butter cream frosted cookies. Royal icing is the perfect solution. And yes, quite edible and delicious.

  • love this site --making first batch of cookies tomorrow

  • I'm in singapore..

N kidda wondering what is Royal Icing.

Is the icing u make rself or buy..

    @.@

  • You make the icing yourself with powdered sugar and egg whites. See my other videos for instructions.

  • hell jenny i made some royal icing today it came out beautiful and perfect i guess practice makes perfect!!!!!!!

  • My first two batches were terrible, but practice does indeed make perfect!

  • You're going to think I'm nuts but the same thing happened to my hand...however I didn't cut myself. The fingers affected with the numbness (especially when you said "half" if a specific finger) relates to nerves that run in your lower back. Did you by chance lift something heavy or put a strain on your lower back that happened to coincide with your cutting incident? This would also account for the returning numbness. Just me, but I don't think it's the cut that did it. See a doc for your back!

  • nope, it's just the cut, no back injury. it gets about 95% better when I am taking tons of glyconutrients, and if I back off, the numbness returns full force.

  • Do you have a video that demonstrates how you apply that first critical layer of royal icing?? Do you use a brush, or dip the cookies? They look perfect (no runny edges).. so I'm curious to know how this is done.

    Thanks for your time!

  • Yes, watch my other videos.

  • What kind of sticks did you used ??

I want cookies on a stick too but I think the stick will burn because it is wood...

  • The stick doesn't burn. It isn't wood, but a wood stick won't burn either.

  • what kinde of cookie is it?

  • sugar cookie

  • im eatin cookies now

  • mmm cookies..=]

    Check out my vids plz.

    Plz subscibe for move videos!!

  • Could you please make some easter-cookies ? :3

  • Maybe next year.

  • Would you please tell me your sugar cookie receipe.

    Thanks

  • Check her other videos. There is another video explaining it...

  • Thanks for responding about that!

  • Hope you will be okay ! ;3

  • I just love your videos and am having fun making all kinds of cookies. I would like to purchase an edible cookie printer, can you tell me the one you use, thanks so much, you are an inspiration

  • go to the Kopykake website and see which printers they support - there is no "edible cookie printer" - just regular printers that have edible cartridges

  • So very sorry to hear about your hand. You are a very sweet person and your advice is truly important. I sympathize with you as something similar happened to me, so I know what you feel. Please be well and thank you for the video and the advice.

  • Could you please suggest a supplier for the wooden sticks in the biscuits... Cant seem to source them on ebay - I am from Australia. Thanks :)

  • go to the Sugarcraft website. They carry them.

  • I was wondering if u use a special tool to put the first layer on the cookies??? you always show them after they are iced!

  • I think she just uses a spoon. That's what she uses in the other vids! =)

  • How thick do you roll out the dough?

  • I made the dough and the icing.. but i was wondering the degree of the oven and how long it should be in the oven...and when i'm cutting the cookies out it's sticking to the bottom.. how do i fix that??

  • Oven should be at 375, and cooking time will depend on the size of your cookies. Smaller cookies perhaps 12-15 minutes and larger cookies up to 22 minutes. Are they sticking to your rolling surface or your pan?

  • Do you grease the pan before you put the cookies on the pan??

  • Never.

  • How long does icing usually take to dry???

I'm going to bake and decorate some christmas cookies on christmas eve.

  • Drying depends on weather conditions + the amount of cream of tartar. The more CT, the faster (but harder) it dries. Even so, overnight drying is best always with royal icing.

  • where do you buy Tartar? i live in el paso texas but i can't find it

  • You can find Cream of Tartar in the major grocery stores. If not, you can buy it online.

  • thanks plus i love your vids!

  • wow! can u teach me how to make the icing? it's so lovely!

  • Look at my other videos. There's one specifically on the subject.

  • Hi! I would like to make the cookies in advance for xmas (2 weeks before) - can I freeze them? Should I put them in the plastic wrap first or after I take them out of the freezer? Will the icing sort of melt a bit? Thank you! Love the videos!

  • how do you actually ice the cookies? do you do a dam with a stiff consistency royal icing and then fill it up with thinned down royal icing? do you do that with a decorators bag or how?

  • I ice with the back of a spoon. I do not make a dam unless I am going for a specific look. Practice makes perfect.

  • so you are a professional baker? thats cool thats what i would like to be.... anyways you dont let your cookies brown? do they turn out crispy or soft or kinda in between?

  • I love watching your videos. Cookie cut-outs are my favorite cookie to make for the holidays. I make them for friends and family and have been told I should start a business but I can't imagine doing that everyday. I love your creations though and some of your tips are very helpful! Take care great video and watch out for the knife. I'm sorry that happened!

  • Hi Miss Truly, Sorry to hear about your hand! Love your sense of design. Your cookies are look delightful and delicious. How do you apply that first layer of icing? Pouring/spooning it on? Or a pastry tube? How do you apply that first layer of icing without it overflowing on to the side? Thanks, Laura

  • First layer is put on with a spoon - smoothed on with the back of the spoon. Check out the other videos for further instructions, especially the Christmas ones.

  • Thank you sooooo much for all of your videos!!! Where can you get the cookie cutters?? I have looked around town and nobody here seems to have them. THANKS!!!

  • Look for H.O. Foose on the internet. Lots of cutters there. That's just one place.

  • im sorry about your hand ):

  • Hi Miss Truly. How long do you bake the cookies for and at what oven temprature? Thanks

  • Love your demos, they are so easy to understand and follow. Looking forward to the next one!

  • I love your videos, every single one of them.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR COOKIE CUTTERS

  • Lots of places on the internet, including Ebay.

  • You are fantastic - better than most of the FoodNetWork 'stars' - nothing phoney about you. A down-to-earth person who is knowledgeable and sweet / willing to share

and easy on the ears ... no 'cackle like Paula Dean! HA! Luvya!

  • How do you apply the initial icing that covers the cookie? Brush? Spatula/knife? Your edges are so clean and perfect on the flowers, etc. LOVE YOUR INSTRUCTIONS! and You are so personable.

  • The initial layer of icing is smoothed on with the back of a spoon. Works great!

  • you can also use an offset spatula...it's perfect because it's further away from the handle

  • I love your video ! You're better than Martha Stewart.

  • We tried to make these.. :( every time they come out, they have inflated so much, you cant tell they are stars...they get "fat" lol what are we doing wrong????

  • I don't know.

  • refrigetate your dough vefore you bake them

  • mmm they look good

  • how do you get the royal icing to look smooth on the cookie? and as one thin layer? thanks!

  • It just depends on how think you make the icing initially.

  • I love your videos! How do you get the sticks in without messing up the shape of the cookie dough?

  • The dough should still be fairly cold when you roll it out, so a little stiff, and the stick just goes right in, no problem.

  • thank you very much for the tips!!

    :)

and i'm sorry for your tinny finger !!

    ..

at least it's not the holl hand !!

    :)

  • Do you use regular vanilla extract for the icing? Does it make white icing a little brown?

  • I do not use vanilla in the icing for that reason.

  • you can use the brown one (i dont think it changes the colour at all, from personal experience) but you can also buy clear vanilla.

  • I love your videos....

    Are those wooden sticks ???

    What brand??????

  • They are not wooden. They are paper, like you'd get on a tootsie roll pop.

  • Thank you for your videos! I have been wanting to decorate cookies, and now feel much more confident. I hope to do the cookies for my daughter's wedding!

  • I'm so glad the videos helped!

  • Where do you get your cookie sheets?

  • From a restaurant supply place, but you can also get them on Amazon.

  • wat kind of sticks do u use??

  • they are sticks used in making candy suckers. They come in various thicknesses and lengths. Look for them at your local cake or candy decorating shop.

  • thank you

  • I love listening to your voice. It's a kind voice. x3

  • whats better than a cookie... a cookie on a stick of course lol =) hpe ur hand gets the feeling back =( well i think im going to make cookies on a stick 2 marrow thnks 4 all of ur great videos

  • Do you know of a good place to buy reasonably priced cookie cutters? I would also like a good website to buy the sanding sugars and other decoritive goodies for the cookies. Thanks.

  • I have just sent you a private message with that information, so check your Youtube In box.

  • I would like to know how you frost or glaze the sugar cookies before you decorate.?

  • check out my latest video, Episode 6, which should answer a lot of questions

  • Excellent tip on keeping the cookies from sticking. I probably would have done the same thing as you regarding the injury...Syd

  • Yes, but my injury is pretty much recovered (for the 2nd time now). Just have to get my hand back up to strength. At least I can now HOLD a cookie tray again!

  • cool!

  • Glad you liked it!

  • Wow!!!! Jenny, you're not just a baker you are an artiste! Good advice about workers comp.

  • Thanks, Darl! (I'm just seeing this! Arrggghhh!)

  • i have a question i am a youngster and i am very interested in pastry art and also just drawing or art in general. I was wondering. What is a good technique if u cant find a cookie cutter for a particular custom design, how would u cut that? Thanks i am hopefully going to be able to make cookies to show off at my Halloween party. Thanks for any help and i luv the vid!

  • Hello! I've just seen your response... best thing to do is cut out the shape in the size you want, mount it onto heavy paper (like a postcard), lay the shape onto the rolled out dough, and trace around it with a small, thin knife. You have to work fast, though!

  • about how long do u have 2 bake the cookies because my oven doesent have a window so i cant see when the get brown

  • My oven doesn't have a window either. Usually they take about 20-25 minutes, but you'll have to check, depending on how big your cookies are. My cookies are big, so they take a little longer.

  • Okay Thank You

  • And how long doe sthe cookie have to be in the oven?

  • until they brown around the edges. Not too brown, tho.

  • When you bake the cookies how much degree's does the oven have to be?

  • 375

  • Where Did you get the sticks?

  • Try a place called sugarcraft DOT com.

  • When you put the cookies in the pan do you have to put spread butter in the pan? Or just put the cookie on the pan and after it has been cooked you barely move it?

  • You do not need to butter the pan in any way. Just barely move the cookies on the same pan they've cooked on while they're hot, and let them cool on that tray. Hopefully you have a few trays!

  • Thanks also yes I have 4 trays

  • I Love This!!!! I think I just put on 5 pounds just watching! Oh well, what else is new!?! Peace&Hugs ~Mimi~

  • Did you check out the other videos! Yes, five lbs just from watching!

  • How are your cookies so flat when they come out of tje oven? They also seem to hold the shape of the cookie cutters very well.

  • how thick are the cookies?

    thanks miss Truly ^u^

  • The cookies are just under about 3/16" thick. They have to be thicker than the thickness of the stick, however.

  • Fabulous!!!

  • Nice to see how our Chitty cookies were made and iced!

    Well done MissTruly!!

  • Thanks for your comment, Mr. Whirlywizard!
