theres no way a stock 2000 grand am gt does 0-60 in 5 seconds. thats almost as fast as an 08 mustang gt, race one of those and tell me who gets to 60 first. it will be the mustang by far.
yeah... i dont know. i need to get a video of mine because i swear my car does 0-60 in like 5 seconds, 2000 grand am GT w/ 69k miles. lets see 0-20 is like 1 second maybe 2, 20-40 is like 1 second and i guess the car finds 3 more seconds in the 40-60 speeds. as far as i know there's no big mods to it... well none at all actually besides the indash, i got the car used.
i will also note that just because your car has the 3400 engine doesnt mean it's as fast, the GTs have ram air intake which really adds in the power when you need it (or want it lol)
its not a true ram air intake though. you would be better off buying a cold air intake. the "ram air" system only adds about 5HP. its about a 90 degree angle where the air is sucked in and then goes into the engine.
Come on man yeah i have moded my 00 grand am a bit but i still get 0-60 in 5.5 seconds i mean from Pontiac themselves they sey they get 0-60 in 5.7 seconds but hey i understand the burning out does take a toll later
jsut be sure to turn off your traction control when doing so, otherwise itll blow apart your 02 sensor over time. otherwise, only thing you have to worry about is your brakes if you fast stop, and your tires, after some time, the car doesnt hav enough stock torque to hurt them a few times through.
do you know why that is? that because you are running turbo wich you are going to have to wait till the exauhst gasses start flowing wich you will get "Turbo Lag" i am running a supercharger no turbo lag
Well yea its called years of abuse, LOL I bought this car back in 2000 and it now has over 100k on it. I have done many burnouts on it, peeled out hundreds of times and done way too many full throttle starts on it, so yea over time that kinda abuse will take a toll on the performance of the car. I am still hangin on to the car just because of how reliable it is I rarely had any problems with the car. So yea I can kinda see why a 2003 3.4 V6 is faster than a 2001 model year 3.4 V6

Looks like you had the ETS on which hinders speed performance.

Hmm. Check my video out. I think my 98' 3100V6 GAGT is atleast that fast if not moreso. I like your gauge cluster better than mine tho. Nice ride.

BS.
Your Grand Am pulls a 5 1/2 second 0-60? Pontiac recorded a 5.7? I think you mean 8.5. GAGT are NOT that fast at all.

check out my gagt with mods, im pushing in at 6 seconds easy for my 0-60 runs. LOL. GAGT's are def. quick cars done right.

I'm sorry, but I call bs. Even my turbo 3400 grand am barely gets below 6 seconds on the 0-60. A stock 3400 GA should do 0-60 in around 8 seconds.

you're an idiot, the lag is so minimal it doesn't even make a difference, if anything it makes it easier to launch

I have a 1999 Grant Am GT, I've done 7.91 seconds 0-60mph, they're not bad.

I took the traction off. If the traction is on and I floor it the RPM's will only go to 5k.
mike7131 5 years ago
did u take the traction off, or is that a SVS light?

Oh hey maybe you can post a video and show us how much quicker your Grand Am is?
