Personally Im not all that keen on either new songs by Metallica and Megadeth. The singing obviously isnt as great as it used to be and their tones both seem more like rock than the high treble thrash metal that they once were. Disappointing but I still love both bands.

I'll second that, his voice is getting worse as he gets older. I also agree that Trujillo is closer to Cliff than Newstead, but they got Newstead because he was an "energy bomb". Trujillo hasn't ruined Metallica, he's just made them closer to the Puppets era.

This is very mediocre....they've drifted so far from their glory days...they can never go back. the only thing i thought they did better than Dave Mustaine was sing ... even that doesn't hold true anymore. MEGADETH forever. I like old metallica but they've disappointed me too many times. this is crap.

Awsome song. Definitly gonna pick this one up. Dont care what anyone says, this does sound very promising. But the D tuned guitar needs to change i must admit. Hope it doesnt sound qiuite like that on the Album itself.

i`m only speaking for myself, it took me awhile to get used to St. Anger, there a few songs i do like, but nothing beats old metallica, this drop d does need to go it just doesnt fit there style, but then again when i think of metallica i think of the old stuff. i will admit when the new album comes out i`ll probably buy it. but i do hope the new album is more promising.

Personally Im not all that keen on either new songs by Metallica and Megadeth. The singing obviously isnt as great as it used to be and their tones both seem more like rock than the high treble thrash metal that they once were. Disappointing but I still love both bands.

I'll second that, his voice is getting worse as he gets older. I also agree that Trujillo is closer to Cliff than Newstead, but they got Newstead because he was an "energy bomb". Trujillo hasn't ruined Metallica, he's just made them closer to the Puppets era.

I like it. I've honestly liked everything Metallica has done with the exception of St. Anger, but this shows that they're inching toward a return to their melodic thrash roots. It sounds very 'Testament'ish. I can't wait to see what the song sounds like when they work out the kinks and and put it on cd.

I love the riff at a minute in. Loving Lars, his snare doesn't sound like a tin can and he was doing some nice double bassing. I don't like James' voice here though, I hope its just the sound quality.

YES! The main reason I hate St. Anger is because of Lars' awful drum sound, I'm so happy it sounds better, and the extensive use of double-kick in both new songs pleases me greatly.

St. Anger would've been a known as a great album if it wasnt Metallica that recorded it. if any other band recorded those songs as their own, it wouldnt get slammed as much. Mainley because everyone compares St. Anger w/ all the great albums Metallica created before that like MOP, ...And Justice for all, Black album..ect. no actualy they decided that together and kirk even admitt now after, that guitar solos kind of sounded wrong in the st anger album. i think it was cause they more or less changed to nu-metal(bad move).they will never sound the same way as they used to sound back in the master of puppets time cause they are in a totaly different posision then that thet were back then
