Yea but the 11' mustang has a solid rear axle, its old school but it sure works better than the live rear axle that was holding the mustangs potential back.. The 2011 mustang is the best in many years, to equally matchup to the M3 is an achievement
this is why u dont buy this mustang.. it stil has the old rear axle that doesnt let it go to its potential.. now the 2011 mustang GT is the must buy, all new rear axle(finally), 412HP @ 6500RPMs, 5.0L V8(they finally brought it back), and for the same price as the usual GT's, this mustang their showing is with added parts thats why it'll cost u 47grand.. and not to mention the 11' GT is tied performance wise with the M3 even tho it shouldve won that competition
@bwilliams2049 Bigger engine doesn't always mean it's faster.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG SL65 Black Series has a 6.0L Twin Turbo V12 making over 600hp while the Lexus LF-A has a naturally aspirated 4.8L V10 pumping out 556hp. Now, which do you think is faster?
SL65 BS - 3.8s 0-60
LF-A - 3.4s 0-60
Other facts are added in to what makes a car faster, not just engine size.
Lol these guys need to learn how to fucking drive. I mean seriously 5 flat for a 400hp car? Get the fuck out of here with that shit. Not only that but it weighs about 3600lbs. This video is a crock of shit!

Wow 400 hp with a supercharger, and it only does 0-60 in 5 second? My 2006 v6 mustang at 210 hp does it in 6 seconds flat. You mean to tell me that adding nearly twice the hp only lends you a one second improvement?
You shouldnt even be commenting with a V6. This car would wipe your V6's ass in a heartbeat! If you love mustangs and are a Ford guy you wouldnt buy a mustang in a 6 cylinder version unless you're just trying to look cool and even then you look like a tool, buy a stang with a V8.

the 2011 mustang is gonna have a 5.0 and there are rumors that there will be a v6 twin turbo similar to the one in the sho but thats just a rumor for now
Thats silly. Do you know how many "american" products are built outside of the united states? Baseball is an american sport, yet how much of the paraphernalia made across sea's? Since the sport has a diverse body of races, and ethnicities, does that make it un-american? Globalization is something that is growing by the day-it's a simple business strategy: build a product as cheap as possible, and sell it at the market value to maximize profit. You can't get mad at GM for being business savvy.
GM business savvy?? I don't want to get into a pissing contest about who has a builds a better car or anything along those lines but if this is a part of globalization, maybe the globe should have picked up part of the $350 billion the American taxpayer shelled out so the Canadian and Mexican auto worker could keep their jobs. But facts are facts...the Camaro is an import.
Whatever helps you sleep at night, man... I just find it ironic that you are so insistent on labeling it as an 'import' despite 90% of other 'american' automobiles/goods are directly or indirectly derived from outside markets. I.E.: The Ford Fusion Hybrid Technology being a direct replication of the Toyota Prius Hybrid Technology though a little more advanced. I'm assuming you consider the Fusion an import also? Good riddance.
Uhhhh apparently you missed that the 2011 Mustang is getting new engines. Check it out on any Mustang site, but the new V-8 is going to have 412 horsepower! The V-6 will have 305 horsepower! This is GREAT NEWS!
No, I didn't miss that and I guess you missed where I said, "Ford needs to make this a factory car"...meaning the car in the video. But yes, I know about the new engine and a Mustang GT should have been built with GONADS from the get go. It's only been decades since it had any HP worth a da##.
Yes, that is great news about the new Mustangs...if it actually happens.
@nosuchthingasnothing Yes, the V6 will have 305 HP BUT....!!!! You have to buy the PERFORMANCE PACKCAGE, and it will be aviable on 2010 March in USA....
The only thing FORD has hinted at was a new 5.0l engine going into the mustang. They have yet to release anything about HP ratings. The V6 is a really bad rumor since the 5.0l was the only real notification. yet, i doubt they ugrade the V8 without the V6. I just wouldn't count on those hp ratings especially since when i first heard the original V8 was suppose to have 400hp. Scratch the V6 info. I did find more info on that. V8 still in the dark though
@Texarmageddon Maybe you're talking about the "Performance Packcage" which for now only is just available for the V6 engine and goes on sale as upgrade on this March, and like you said the 500HP and the 5.0 engine of the GT is just a rumor, the truth I did a Test Drive on Mustang GT 2010 last week and I DO NOT like the power, is toooooo poor development of the RPM, however the handling and grip is excellent! Regards....
Ford officially announced the numbers for both engines quite a while ago. The 5.0l gets 412hp and 390lb/ft with a 6800rpm redline. The 3.7l gets about 305hp and 280lb/ft with a 7000rpm redline.
ever thought about Ford does is cus they know a real car guy woud love to customize and upgrade his/her own car and personalize it themselves. thats another reason the mustang is the best car. im not knockin yea i hear what your saying. if Ford made that factory the price of the car would go up. mustang are known for being affordable so if you factor in the price for the parts/labor/energy to make the parts it wouldbe affordablle to everybody.
Sure, Pulley BBK, Ford Racing 3.73 Gears, K & N Filter, Autolite Iridium Sparklug body and Silver head, Superchips Cortex 1950, Eibach Pro Kit Springs, MagnaFlow Catbaks, Toyo Proxes T1R, I think that's all.
he said 0-60 in 5 seconds? the mustang gt is faster. but then again these people arent the fastest. if motor trend got a hold of this i'm pretty sure it bust 4.5
Wow, can you say rip off? lol just buy a GT500, it'll be about the same price, you get much better performance, and its a GT500 so it'll have amazing re-sell value, or if you're a weiner that just has something against Shelby and wants a mean GT, get a Roush...this sounded cool when they started talking but not for that price with that performance
what do you mean no handling stuff? The Shelby gets tons of handling upgrades over the GT including IRS, the Camaro gets all that stuff without the extra $15k...but all that aside people have their prefferences so i say again, why spend all that money on a GT when you get get better for the same price from a Shelby or Roush? its awsome that you can do that stuff with Ford Racing but its just not cost-effective enough
Ratmouth66, sorry to break this to you but no Mustang has come stock with an independent rear suspension since the 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra. Not even the 2010 GT500 is offered with an indie kiester. For the record the 2010 Mustang GT with a live axle is faster on a closed circuit track than a SS/RS Camaro. Although the IRS on the new Camaro is better for the work-a-day commute.
Im not here to argue Camaro vs. Mustang, its obvious im more of a Camaro fan, but that doesnt mean i dont enjoy mustangs as well, i love all american muscle and personally i hate when certain brand lovers rag on other brand lovers, im just asking whats the point in all of this Ford Racing stuff when you can spend the same money and get a GT500 and it'll be a far superior performance car and a far rarer, more valuable car, its awsome that they offer the stuff but it just doesnt seem worth it
I can totally respect that Ratmouth66. To be honest I am much the same way, with a slight bias toward the Mustang. It's not that you are supposed to buy a turn key FRP but that you could tune your Mustang with the parts that work best for you. Think of this as a rolling advert for the Ford Racing Products catalog. Although if you are like me and want a bit of a sleeper, this car covers that bill. The GT500 screams performance, a car like the FRP Mustang just performs and that is my style.
@Ratmouth66 frpp are the most expensive parts out there, its supercharger only gives you about 75 horses more??? thats insanely weak. you could go after market and void the warranty and get better yet cheaper performance parts that add a lot more horses and torque, it is not a usual sight seen a mustang aficionado, spending on for racing performance parts.
Hey now dont take my words the wrong way haha, i love Mustangs, and the fact that i also love Camaros and Challengers shouldnt make that any different, im just saying, isnt it a better deal to get a GT500 or Roush instead of all this? I know there's that "sleeper" trend going around (which i think is dumb, i preffer a car that performs like a badass and has the looks to fit, but meh) im just sayin, this doesnt seem like a good investment to me, there are better ways to get a good mustang
i truly love mustangs(actually obssessed)but they killed me with this 1..a 400hp car thats runnin almost similar numbers to a regular 2010 GT..but that problem can be easily fixed wit a smaller pulley an better tune but the price is rediculous
ive hit 0-60 mph in my 05 gt with nitto 555's a few mods and a g-tech monitor in under 4.9 at least 10 times out of maybe 15 tries. keep in mind my last three cars have been 4.6 mustangs with nitto 555's so im decent with the launches.
Yea i agree with all the posters calling BS on this test. The stock GT has been clocked at the same and even faster 0-60 times than this ford racing GT was in this video. i agree that they are simply taking it easy on this ford racing GT
this is bull !! my 06 gt has a cai, and a sct tune 91 octane 373 gears and my car runs alot better then this stang.. and i 'am in the mile high city what the fuck....
If that car was a girl, she would be perfect for me...all the curves where I want em, loves to go fast, has enough power to go all night, so sleek and sexy. OH MY GOD im falling in love with a machine........but i think i like it........akward...
ifurtalkin about the older ones then yea i think there rwd ( rear wheel drive ) then slam on the gas if it can peelout for a lil while then you can perform a burn out, same as stated before give it gas then apply and hold the brakes the front should lock up and rear spin freely
.2 seconds faster 0-60 and .3 secs faster 1/4 mile almost a full second slower through the slaloms..... and the same price as a GT500...... I smell waste here. I would rather buy the GT500 and get more than my moneys' worth or buy the GT and spend way less on mods and go a full second faster. Love the stangs but doesn't make sense to run 5 lbs of boost on a GT almost $20,000 more.
roush lol dude check a griggs gr40 mustang it willspank any tunned z33or just about any thing for that fact ,and you say mustangs candle handle ,check out nasa or scca get it right !
my stock 99 b4c z28 runs 13.07 at 107 in the 1/4 gets over 25 mpg on the highway and i paid 5200 bucks for it my buddies 01 trans am with 3.73 gears and headers runs 12.90's in the 1/4 and 11.70's with the 100 shot of gas and mine is 10 years old and his is 8 years old and his twin brother had a 6 speed car that ran 12.90's also so this doesnt impress me that much
I would like to see proof of your 13.07 "Stock" Z28. I have an eclipse GS-T that put down 274whp on the dyno, and I hit mid 13's with slicks. The most whp I've ever seen a LS1 camaro put down was like 269, not including it's a good 300 lbs heavier than my car. Unless you're racing at sea level, I don't buy that for one second.
its a highway patrol car maybe that has something to do with it the car has a little higher rear end ratio and alittle bit stouter suspension and i was about 75 miles from myrtle beach at darlington dragway in darlington south carolina i dont have a video of it we didnt video it it was just me any my buddy with the trans am he was running 12.90s with a basically stock car it had headers 3.73 gears and a slp cold air intake
im looking at the time slip now 60ft 1.995 330 ft 5.564 1/8th 8.454 mph 87.01 and i guess the next one is the 100ft mark (i only have half the slip the my buddy has the other half) 10.964 the 1/4 13.070 and the mph is 107.07 and i was in the right lane and it was earlier this year and it was pretty cool out i ran again while it was hot at a 1/8th mile track closer to home and ran 8.60s in the 1/8th so the heat slowed it down a bit but i swear on the bible that i ran what i ran
Well, I have read about a stock LS1 running a 12.8 in the 1/4, but that was at sea level with basically perfect conditions. Where is the race track at where you got this time? Elevation and humidity hurts my car, I would like to race at sea level one time to see if I could possibly hit 12's
yeah i mean like i said i was like 75 miles from the beach Darlington elevation is 155 feet above sea level. i just found that and yeah it was cool that night so i know that was deff helping me out i mean the first time i ran it was like 2 or 3 weeks earlier and it ran 13.30 so i was surprised at the 13.07 too like you said i guess it was perfect that night
I know a few people from down that way. I have a friend down there that owns a LS2 corvette with a full borla exhaust system with hooker headers, a K&N intake with a tune + drag radials and turned an 11.7! It's insane how much better you can run when you take elevation out of the equation.
yeah i always wondered why i ran faster at darlington than jefferson pageland ( i know u dont know where that is) my "home" track is about 75 more miles inland than darlington is and yeah i have never really dealt with the altitude thing but it amazes me how much the temp affects times 2 to 3 tenths with a 15 to 20 degree temp change and yeah the dude with the tranny that i was telling u about runs 11.70's with a 100 shot he breaks rear ends alot too!!!! 7.5 gm rear end can only stand so much
My best time was a 13.35 at 105.3 with a 8.9 1/8 mile. But like I said, elevation and humidity kills it. Bristol Thundervalley dragway is awful in the summer...it also has a 4 degree incline after like the 60ft mark...it's ridiculous
cool... u said u have a turbo car? that explans the fast 1/4 and the slower 1/8th she must have started pullin on the top i had a older 88 camaro it ran 9.00's in the 1/8th and ran like 14.20's i the 1/4 ha im sure the 2.73 gear wasnt helping me any by the time it got to the end of the 1/4 it was getting good millage hahaha (it was a turd on top)
I put a Roush M90 Roots style on my 2010 - It put me at 435HP. My car's base and it was $28,800 - The supercharger installed at my local Ford dealer was $6400 with vent guage pod - $35,200 and I have all I need for straight-line fun. The car's a blast to drive and the sound of the supercharger makes me smile every day :)
waste of money.. holy crap 46K? might as well buy an old 350Z and Stillen Stage 4 supercharger, and then coilovers, strut tower/ sway bars, intake, exhaust, etc. for the same price the Z would handle a lot better, accelerate a lot faster, and definitely look better.
some people prefer muscle personally i like tuner and muscle so id go with your 350Z idea but i could also see y people would go with the mustang.....
Would not look better. thats out of your pesonal taste.................... stop watching mustangs if you dont like them.
Ps: even with all those mods too the z - do the same with the mustang and it will still shit on the z and still hold more women in the car plus look better doing it.
wtf when did i say i dont like mustangs. learn to read fool. it's just that this particular 2010 mustang is a load of crap for the price. take an 05 mustang GT and buy roush.
and PS.. mustang can't handle for shit. sure pour on all the boost you want and the mustang just MIGHT win in a straight line.. but they can't take corners like a tuned Z33. and for another thing.. if you do drive a 2003 mustang V6 you def dont shit on ANYTHING so don't even pretend you can get chicks in that thing
5 sec to 60? with 19K of after market parts (base price 28K) and 400hp it should do better than that. Motor trend says the '10 does 0-60 in 5.2 sec stock. it may handle better but i cant see how its worth 15-19k, depending on what it was priced at before the factory injection of steroids where added on
mustangs are quick but the people who own them have kinda ruined it like i see plently of people that are younger and drive them the way there suppose to be (ex. sisters Boyfriend) but then i see so many old ass ladys driving gts probably as many that drive crown vics
Hm interesting video, but to end the arguments the Mustang was always meant to be a more "user friendly" muscle car. The Camaro has always been known to be able to blow the doors off a Mustang, harder, more racing tuned suspension, more powerful power train, more performance oriented interior rather than convenience oriented. The Mustang rides better, easier to handle, little more convenience oriented, and the Mustang has always been cheaper...so it equals itself out in the end
You people should know that inside line drivers aren't that great, i'm surpirised so many of you are blaming the car for this.

Doesn't the 2011 Mustang V6 do a 5 second 0-60? For $47,000 dollars this car gave only 400 HP. That was not worth it.

Correction. LIVE rear axel. Not old. It's perfectly new. Sure it has a disadvantage but it quick enough around the track as it is.
If you don't like it buy the old Mustang. And Mustang has some of the best factory modifiers.

Ford NEEDS to just make this a factory car. Quit bullshittin' around with these weak ass engines and get it done. C'MON FORD...hook us up!!
rollin92gt 2 years ago
Uhhhh apparently you missed that the 2011 Mustang is getting new engines. Check it out on any Mustang site, but the new V-8 is going to have 412 horsepower! The V-6 will have 305 horsepower! This is GREAT NEWS!
nosuchthingasnothing 2 years ago
No, I didn't miss that and I guess you missed where I said, "Ford needs to make this a factory car"...meaning the car in the video. But yes, I know about the new engine and a Mustang GT should have been built with GONADS from the get go. It's only been decades since it had any HP worth a da##.
Yes, that is great news about the new Mustangs...if it actually happens.
rollin92gt 2 years ago
@nosuchthingasnothing Yes, the V6 will have 305 HP BUT....!!!! You have to buy the PERFORMANCE PACKCAGE, and it will be aviable on 2010 March in USA....
666dukha666 2 years ago
The only thing FORD has hinted at was a new 5.0l engine going into the mustang. They have yet to release anything about HP ratings. The V6 is a really bad rumor since the 5.0l was the only real notification. yet, i doubt they ugrade the V8 without the V6. I just wouldn't count on those hp ratings especially since when i first heard the original V8 was suppose to have 400hp. Scratch the V6 info. I did find more info on that. V8 still in the dark though
Texarmageddon 2 years ago
@Texarmageddon Maybe you're talking about the "Performance Packcage" which for now only is just available for the V6 engine and goes on sale as upgrade on this March, and like you said the 500HP and the 5.0 engine of the GT is just a rumor, the truth I did a Test Drive on Mustang GT 2010 last week and I DO NOT like the power, is toooooo poor development of the RPM, however the handling and grip is excellent! Regards....
666dukha666 2 years ago
Ford officially announced the numbers for both engines quite a while ago. The 5.0l gets 412hp and 390lb/ft with a 6800rpm redline. The 3.7l gets about 305hp and 280lb/ft with a 7000rpm redline.
bezzle67 2 years ago 2
well it's official, the 5.0L is back and now available in the 2011 GT Mustang. 412hp and 406 ft/lbs of tq.
sn95cruiser 2 years ago
@rollin92gt
ever thought about Ford does is cus they know a real car guy woud love to customize and upgrade his/her own car and personalize it themselves. thats another reason the mustang is the best car. im not knockin yea i hear what your saying. if Ford made that factory the price of the car would go up. mustang are known for being affordable so if you factor in the price for the parts/labor/energy to make the parts it wouldbe affordablle to everybody.

Wow, can you say rip off? lol just buy a GT500, it'll be about the same price, you get much better performance, and its a GT500 so it'll have amazing re-sell value, or if you're a weiner that just has something against Shelby and wants a mean GT, get a Roush...this sounded cool when they started talking but not for that price with that performance
...or buy a Camaro and get the same numbers =D
lmao *braces for impact*
Ratmouth66 2 years ago
your wrong the shelby comes with better tires. thats it. no handiling stuff look it up. pluss camaro sucks
MrRwallach 2 years ago
what do you mean no handling stuff? The Shelby gets tons of handling upgrades over the GT including IRS, the Camaro gets all that stuff without the extra $15k...but all that aside people have their prefferences so i say again, why spend all that money on a GT when you get get better for the same price from a Shelby or Roush? its awsome that you can do that stuff with Ford Racing but its just not cost-effective enough
Ratmouth66 2 years ago
Ratmouth66, sorry to break this to you but no Mustang has come stock with an independent rear suspension since the 2004 SVT Mustang Cobra. Not even the 2010 GT500 is offered with an indie kiester. For the record the 2010 Mustang GT with a live axle is faster on a closed circuit track than a SS/RS Camaro. Although the IRS on the new Camaro is better for the work-a-day commute.
piwright42 2 years ago
Im not here to argue Camaro vs. Mustang, its obvious im more of a Camaro fan, but that doesnt mean i dont enjoy mustangs as well, i love all american muscle and personally i hate when certain brand lovers rag on other brand lovers, im just asking whats the point in all of this Ford Racing stuff when you can spend the same money and get a GT500 and it'll be a far superior performance car and a far rarer, more valuable car, its awsome that they offer the stuff but it just doesnt seem worth it
Ratmouth66 2 years ago
I can totally respect that Ratmouth66. To be honest I am much the same way, with a slight bias toward the Mustang. It's not that you are supposed to buy a turn key FRP but that you could tune your Mustang with the parts that work best for you. Think of this as a rolling advert for the Ford Racing Products catalog. Although if you are like me and want a bit of a sleeper, this car covers that bill. The GT500 screams performance, a car like the FRP Mustang just performs and that is my style.
piwright42 2 years ago
@Ratmouth66 frpp are the most expensive parts out there, its supercharger only gives you about 75 horses more??? thats insanely weak. you could go after market and void the warranty and get better yet cheaper performance parts that add a lot more horses and torque, it is not a usual sight seen a mustang aficionado, spending on for racing performance parts.
givant 2 years ago
Hey now dont take my words the wrong way haha, i love Mustangs, and the fact that i also love Camaros and Challengers shouldnt make that any different, im just saying, isnt it a better deal to get a GT500 or Roush instead of all this? I know there's that "sleeper" trend going around (which i think is dumb, i preffer a car that performs like a badass and has the looks to fit, but meh) im just sayin, this doesnt seem like a good investment to me, there are better ways to get a good mustang
Ratmouth66 2 years ago
or you just buy your own after market supercharger and pocket the other 10k haha

sk8mafia805 2 years ago
.2 seconds faster 0-60 and .3 secs faster 1/4 mile almost a full second slower through the slaloms..... and the same price as a GT500...... I smell waste here. I would rather buy the GT500 and get more than my moneys' worth or buy the GT and spend way less on mods and go a full second faster. Love the stangs but doesn't make sense to run 5 lbs of boost on a GT almost $20,000 more.

98DSModded 2 years ago
its a highway patrol car maybe that has something to do with it the car has a little higher rear end ratio and alittle bit stouter suspension and i was about 75 miles from myrtle beach at darlington dragway in darlington south carolina i dont have a video of it we didnt video it it was just me any my buddy with the trans am he was running 12.90s with a basically stock car it had headers 3.73 gears and a slp cold air intake
i swear to ya im not bull shittin
bighead29058 2 years ago
im looking at the time slip now 60ft 1.995 330 ft 5.564 1/8th 8.454 mph 87.01 and i guess the next one is the 100ft mark (i only have half the slip the my buddy has the other half) 10.964 the 1/4 13.070 and the mph is 107.07 and i was in the right lane and it was earlier this year and it was pretty cool out i ran again while it was hot at a 1/8th mile track closer to home and ran 8.60s in the 1/8th so the heat slowed it down a bit but i swear on the bible that i ran what i ran
bighead29058 2 years ago
Well, I have read about a stock LS1 running a 12.8 in the 1/4, but that was at sea level with basically perfect conditions. Where is the race track at where you got this time? Elevation and humidity hurts my car, I would like to race at sea level one time to see if I could possibly hit 12's
98DSModded 2 years ago
yeah i mean like i said i was like 75 miles from the beach Darlington elevation is 155 feet above sea level. i just found that and yeah it was cool that night so i know that was deff helping me out i mean the first time i ran it was like 2 or 3 weeks earlier and it ran 13.30 so i was surprised at the 13.07 too like you said i guess it was perfect that night
bighead29058 2 years ago
I know a few people from down that way. I have a friend down there that owns a LS2 corvette with a full borla exhaust system with hooker headers, a K&N intake with a tune + drag radials and turned an 11.7! It's insane how much better you can run when you take elevation out of the equation.
98DSModded 2 years ago
yeah i always wondered why i ran faster at darlington than jefferson pageland ( i know u dont know where that is) my "home" track is about 75 more miles inland than darlington is and yeah i have never really dealt with the altitude thing but it amazes me how much the temp affects times 2 to 3 tenths with a 15 to 20 degree temp change and yeah the dude with the tranny that i was telling u about runs 11.70's with a 100 shot he breaks rear ends alot too!!!! 7.5 gm rear end can only stand so much
bighead29058 2 years ago
My best time was a 13.35 at 105.3 with a 8.9 1/8 mile. But like I said, elevation and humidity kills it. Bristol Thundervalley dragway is awful in the summer...it also has a 4 degree incline after like the 60ft mark...it's ridiculous
98DSModded 2 years ago
cool... u said u have a turbo car? that explans the fast 1/4 and the slower 1/8th she must have started pullin on the top i had a older 88 camaro it ran 9.00's in the 1/8th and ran like 14.20's i the 1/4 ha im sure the 2.73 gear wasnt helping me any by the time it got to the end of the 1/4 it was getting good millage hahaha (it was a turd on top)

waste of money.. holy crap 46K? might as well buy an old 350Z and Stillen Stage 4 supercharger, and then coilovers, strut tower/ sway bars, intake, exhaust, etc. for the same price the Z would handle a lot better, accelerate a lot faster, and definitely look better.

wtf when did i say i dont like mustangs. learn to read fool. it's just that this particular 2010 mustang is a load of crap for the price. take an 05 mustang GT and buy roush.
and PS.. mustang can't handle for shit. sure pour on all the boost you want and the mustang just MIGHT win in a straight line.. but they can't take corners like a tuned Z33. and for another thing.. if you do drive a 2003 mustang V6 you def dont shit on ANYTHING so don't even pretend you can get chicks in that thing
