I've seen them dug out of berms in Iraq, totally rusted over, full of sand, and still fire after simply dumping the sand and a little 10W40 motor oil. I personally own one with over 10K down the pipe, and it still goes bang. I would say the AK is a heckuva lot more reliable than the AR platform by a long shot.
