  • fuck yea

  • fuck off

  • they must have to use really thick guitar strings to get that low end tune

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sounds like another Mastodon guitar tone and riff stealing band. The vocals seem similar also.

  • @abyssalspecter93 They both are from Savannah, came out at the same time, have similar influences, and are friends. What do you expect? Kylesa's old stuff has a bit more of a punk influence to them though.

  • @jorozco417 Mastodon is from Atlanta

  • And Mastodon stole from Melvins and Neurosis. And every death metal band ever stole from Death. Does that mean Mastodon or every death metal band ever can't be awesome?

  • @JetlagAgain Ir'a funny because Mastodon isn't death metal...

  • It's called an example, of course Mastodon aren't death metal and neither are Neurosis, Melvins or Kylesa

  • double drums is genius.

  • some stupid toled me that this is hard core i think he likes the fists in the face

  • @Acidbas666S well in a sense,it is hardcore, its sludge metal, sludge came from hardcore punk and doom metal, neurosis first record was a hardcore punk album, and then they moved to play sludge or post metal, post metal is related to hardcore punk too, because of the influence of post hardcore

  • @Acidbas666S and also, this band is really influenced by crust punk, which is hardcore too

  • Like if Jordan Pundik's shirt brought you here!

  • This band kick so much ass... remind of a weird mix of Sepultura, Sonic Youth and Helmet... love the changes in the verses.

  • I should have 3D glasses...

  • I have no clue what the fuck they are saying but this shit is raw as hell and thats saying something.

  • Garage band video lol. good song though

  • Awesome song

  • A favorite of mine

  • In the last week, unaware of this as I was, I have played it 25 times. Bloody amazing. The construction of riffage is amazing. I THANK YOU! J.

  • great sound

  • smokin'

  • Chuck..this one is for you bro!!

  • recomended listening

  • EPIC SONG!!!

  • For a second there you can catch a glimpse of Bill Kreutzman and Mickey Hart playing the drums for Kylesa!

  • Perso je vais les voir dans deux jours en concert :) Si c'est pas la belle vie ça ! :p

  • @beachguitar123 yeah, but iron maiden kinda suck fat dick

  • @beachguitar123 and black sabbath did it before iron maiden :) пуно хвала педерчино

  • @beachguitar123 I like Iron Maiden and respect them even more, but bands like Opeth, Alcest, Wintersun, and Agalloch not only do "something new", but they take metal to dimensions Iron Maiden can not comprehend. Open your horizons. Many contemporary metal bands (certainly not all) offer a lot and carry the torch Maiden lit.

  • @triviumecj He's a troll just ignore him, and while iron maiedn are my favourite band, there are certainly a few bands that are pushing the boundaries of metal in ways older badns cant

  • @triviumecj That's more than just a little pretentious of you. I'm not sure any of those bands are "incomprehensible in scope" to the members of Iron Maiden. Maiden plays Maiden music, what the hell else do you want them to do? I don't turn on Iron Maiden to hear boundaries being pushed, I turn them on to hear some good, old school metal.

  • @DeadlyFredXXX I agree with you. I was responding to this comment by beachguitar123:

Metal bands are for teenage outcast boys to liten to while they're popping their zits dreaming about the girls they'll never have. The "old men" who actually play in these type of bands actually believe they are doing something "new" with archetypical riffs, spinning hair, pyrotechnics but the truth is Iron Maiden did it all 30 years ago.

  • @triviumecj your an ignorant poser fuck. go kill yourself while you listen to trivium (aka the lamest "metal" band ever)

  • @bearblaster420 since when is alcest, agalloch, opeth, and wintersun material a poser would listen to. By the way i made this account name after ascendancy came out. Ember to inferno and ascendancy were good albums. You make no sense.

  • @triviumecj i listened to those shitty albums and grew out of them. they turned boring and even more boring after they tried being thrash.

i thought you were saying all metal was unorigional rip offs of iron maiden, my bad

  • @triviumecj You sir are a lame fuck haha, I'm a massive metal head, metal ain't for just those children in the back of the class, metal is for everyone, you already failed there, now your second failure is saying iron maiden did it all 30 years ago? HA! They had great songs, but seriously, metal has changed alot, some changes suck dick, others are fucking great, Iron maiden started the ball rolling, buuut didn't keep it rolling. @bearblaster420 Trivium is a great band XD DOUCHE! XD

  • @O0MP33 And you sir are illiterate. If you took the time maybe you would have noticed that you agree with what i said. You should have replied to the other guys comment.

  • @triviumecj See what happens when you try to argue on youtube lol

  • @O0MP33 I just have to correct you on one thing. Don't talk about Iron Maiden in past-tense. They are better then ever.

  • @beachguitar123 they may have...but they also blow :)

  • @beachguitar123 iron maiden could never do what necrophagist or obscura does >.>

  • wow great song

  • "When does the tunnel fuckin end?!" :D

  • In Laura Pleasants We Trust

  • awesome band

  • 2:46 circle piiiiittt!!!

  • is it just me or could they be a little more creative with the drums? it doesn't really sound like 2 drummers.

  • @jehrising on this album they didn't fully utilize the two drummers all the time, but if you listen to their album static tensions, they do a great job with dual drumming. headphones make it even better

  • Awesome i was that blonde kid with the black sabbath shirt in the front...that mosh was awesome

  • Seeing them in like 4 hours!

  • @Thrashtilldeath94 in kansas city? i was there too! kylesa rocked!

  • Tomorrow night! GREENSBORO NC

  • I like

  • Why is this band playing at Pitchfork this summer? It makes no sense.

  • seeing them today along with the sword and high on fire, yewwwwwwwwww

  • two drummers?

  • 2 drummers that play the exact same thing... why?

  • @frylocdub The drummers don't play the same thing, at all. listen to more of their music man

  • @kingpin8393 i just think they make a huge drum sound followed by the occasional tribal drum thing... id like to hear a band with 2 drummers that really utilized it fully. like one guy playing and the other in a diff time sig. im just saying brann sounds like 3 drummers and hes just a skinny white dude lol...

  • @frylocdub

When you hear it live, it gives it a much more of a boomier sound. Plus they are fucking spot on its awesome.

  • @frylocdub show act

  • Seems like a fun band to jam with

  • Sludgey as fuck.

  • ohm, why they have to sound something else than themselves? This is Kylesa which is some serious and working shit.

  • @ccbayer ikr? at 3:56 to me was epic! i love this song as well

  • TASTE!

  • tight song but I keep getting the strange feeling Ive heard this all before............oh yeah that little band mastodon, but at least they got an extra drummer that adds a lot of depth in the background.

  • now this is a mans metal fuck yes

(and ill have you know i usually dont curse)

  • Im from Argentina and fuckin wish for them come and play here... but its sounds kinda impossible.

    Its a great band!

  • going see these guys with high on fire and municipal waste

  • ....that was really good XD

  • i think the singing is fine, i hate when some proffesional vocalist gets on the mike and fucks a perfectly good song

  • I don't kno about Kylesa's new album Spiral Shadow. Its like, i theres good songs, and i love Kylesa, but i don't kno if the new style is good for KYLESA, ya kno? I loved when their stuff was aggressive like this. I'm still gonna buy the new album of course lol. And i love both the vocals. So angry and frustrated.

  • not to be a dick, but two boring drummers aren't as good as one good drummer.

  • @dudetubez what a dick.

  • I feel that there vocals are a bit weak, maybe the guy that sings toward the end should sing a bit more just to balance out the not so great "main vocals"

  • I feel that there vocals are a bit weak, maybe the guy that sings toward the end should sing a bit more just to balance out the not so great "main vocals"

  • Saw them last night in rochester NY opening for the mighty high on fire. Held up laura pleasants as she crowd surfed during high on fire. Stood right next to her for the whole high on fire set as she and steve brooks from Torche headbanged like they were trying to break their own necks Definitely the highlight of 2010 front of stage at high on fire banging next to laura pleasnats and steve brooks of torche got a pic with laura after the show she was cool as fuck. Also got to meet Matt Pike

  • nice vid, and fucking great song!

  • I love Kylesa, but still, I haven't seen the two drummers put to any interesting use. They mostly play the same patterns. When they don't the variation is only slight. Seems like a gimmick to me.

  • This is the first time Ive ever heard Kylesa properly.. jaw droppingly great stuff. Im liking it instantly more than some other comparison bands. Awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • yess.

  • i really dont see the point in duel drummers tho. seems like that would create more dissonance in the rhythm and would be completely unnecessary. from the sound alone, you cant tell that their are 2 drummers. basically they just put 1 drummer on each side. This could be accomplished with 1 drummer tho. the only point would be if they both played something different... which honestly wouldnt work very well in the context of a band IMO.

  • wow. you're sitting here contemplating if having two drummers is a good idea or not, and Kylesa is making art and touring the world. critic.

  • @devchemist not if its a good idea, if it makes sense. IMO it doesnt. I was under the impression that these comment boxes were made to post opinions in.

  • @autopsy87 I know it's a month old, but do you realise that they actually do play two different things at once? From what I've seen they have one drummer doing a more standard beat, and the other one works the toms.

  • @autopsy87 Hey shithead, have you ever heard a band live that has two drummers? Go to a Melvins show. You'll understand how fucking awesome it can be. It's something that you can only really experience in a live context - even when they play in sync, the sound is impossibly heavy and brutal.

Melvins are amazing. And it's awesome that these guys are using at least a little of their formula.

  • @FakeSidewalks duel drummers is a cool idea if your doing something unique with it. Im not against the idea of trying new things at all, i was just saying it sounds like this band just has 2 drummers doing the same patterns. God damn if a motherfucker has an different opinion.

  • @FakeSidewalks you saw that fantomas dvd to huh?

  • Anyone else get a Talking Horse Vibe from the drums on the intro, maybe its the two drummer thing but still, Kylesa are fast becoming one of my favourite bands, long live intersting proressive metal

  • @summatsnotright i think kylesa only got two drummers by the time static tensions came out

  • @ENOCHwithaGLOCK you can see them both clearly in this video around @4:30.

  • I don't get why people put this band down. Countless bands are influenced by [insert band here]. I am twenty-four and I am noticing this more and more; big fucking deal if the band sounds different for the most part? Some of you kids need to settle down and stop being such little faggots.

  • Check out WDR Rockpalast via google. Theres a full set of a Kylesa Show in great qualitiy!!! You find it under Videos

  • 2 drummers???

  • Its awesome. My cousins band has 2 drummers, and it allows for some crazy buildups and fills overtop of the regular beat for a really sick sound

  • Yeah ok.. I'll give you that. but yeah I saw Neurosis back in like 97 or 98 on second stage at ozzfest. absolutely fucking amazing. one of the best shows I've ever seen

  • Yeah Neurosis is an amazing band. But there's no need to put Kylesa down, you can clearly hear they are highly influensed by Neurosis but that's not a bad thing. In fact it's amazing.

Neurosis laid the path for MANY of my favoritebands including Kylesa. Others are Mastodon, Baroness and Cult of Luna.

I saw Neurosis this summer, it was the first time I had a chance to see after being a fan for many years. It was amazing and the title track from Through Silver in Blood was just bloody fantastic!

  • @haelsoprofeten dantastic comment..

    kylesa rules and neurosis too..

  • @anormalnick fantastic xD

  • @haelsoprofeten neurosis is the greatest band ever

  • @infinitytru true that.

  • @haelsoprofeten Love Neurosis Mastodon Melvins Baroness Kylesa they rule!

  • @haelsoprofeten

    dude ...

    the bands you like ...

    will you marry me ??

  • @haelsoprofeten yeah !! Baroness Mastodon and CoL :) i wouldf also add Black Tusk and Gifts from Enola

  • @haelsoprofeten yeah man, nothing wrong with throwing in a little influence. I mean, if anything this is more mastodon influenced, which is just as fucking cool. It's all about the jam, and just rocking the fuck out and not caring what people think. So yeah this band basically kicks ass lol. Peace!

  • im going to see them on the 17th

  • Awesome.!!!!!

  • If Mastodon had a baby with Sonic Youth, it would be Kylesa, which is why I like it.

  • Great live show!! And yes, they play very similar live with great energy!

    This video is great btw!!

so were the support bands as well which was cool

  • you had them in glasgow? lucky bastard

  • oooh yes, they were amazing in Osnabrück. Really gave me shivers. But it was too short.. And i´m also glad that they came, the owner of the Bastard Club didn´t know where they were, haha. They arrived during the show of the second supportband ... But after all - it was GREAT !

  • never really liked female vocalists to be perfectly honest

  • When does the eternal fucking end!

  • Kylesa is badass live.

  • most brutal female vocal 100% :D

    sick band

  • I heard better from a female

i wouldnt give her the best just because shes in a metal band

but i agree this band is pretty awesome

  • Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy is one of the best ive heard

  • Angela Gossow hands down buddy...but this chick still wails decent enough.

  • Angela Gossow is getting a bit older now, but she was good back then

  • dude i would give you 10 thumbs up for this comment, their bassist is sick

  • @Garsabigos I have, and my ears are still bleeding. In a good way though.....

  • @Garsabigos thanks for the tip bro
