Hi Adam, Just wanted to let you now you have been helpful to me and i appreciate your playing along with Jason Ricci you guys are the ones i watch and respect as players. Not only do you both play well but you also give back to others and I know this is crucial in anybodys success. So thanks again. Craig
your a very good player i tried to do some of the stuff you do and your a very outward player i think but i have only heard this an a few others but i wanna learn how you masterd that outward kind of playing so if you can send me something that would be much apreciated and this was pleasing to watch
Hi Adam, I see that before the major sixth, and after the 4 tongue blocked, you do something that you've explained in other videos to keep the rythm, but I can figure out what notes you are playing. Any tips?
i have been trying to play the harmonica for 4 months and i can play the 12 bar blues scale that you do on 1 of your shows and what i like to know is when the hell do i get the hank of this and everybody gets the hell out of me way
I sell a DVD with the first 34 lessons from my website, Modern Blues Harmonica. See "YouTube products." Also bundles of mp3 rips from the videos--all of the first 100.
i have a question, just curious sorry if its an obvious answer... does playing the harmonic excersie your lungs, and help you in anyway? i figure the excessive breathing on some really fast parts might help a bit. Also does it kind of benefit you if have bad lungs from smoking(not nicotine) ;)
As a smoker, I've noticed my lungs feel waaaaaay clearer after playing the harp. Even after 5 minutes! Not sure if there's any proof of that, but you can only see for yourself :)
what is with all these assholes putting up retarded comments about sex sights shut the hell up and im talking to you agsbhf383!!!adams way to cool for you!!!
I started my website, Modern Blues Harmonica (dot) com for people just like you. Check it out. I offer lots of beginner lessons for a very modest fee.
i'm playing for a year now and it's going good thanks to your video's and I just like to ask if you know the harmonica tabs for on the road again - canned heat or else a good harmonica tab site???
I saw a picture of Dylan pulling a harp out of a glass of water once. I used to soak em, but the wood swelled. I think that's an excellent question and I also ask, Adam, do you soak your harps and if not, why not.
I'm actually a big fan of Dylan but I have to say that what he did is extremely wrong. Putting the harp in a water...
Those are for emergency situations when you really need to wash it quickly before a gig. Dylan, does it because he can AFFORD it. He's a big spender. Really.
I used to drop my harp in hot chicks mixed drink on the way to the stage on occasion. Wetting a harp makes it more responsive. It's unwise to wet a wood comb because of swelling, but screw the plastics. I recently did a vid and I had to wet the harp because it was completely unresponsine. I like Dylan too. I've paid to see him twice, and have seen him on stage for a total of about 40 minutes. NTJ
When I was 17 I soaked my harps. In fact, that was the only way I could get the 10 blow on an A harp to bend. I'd run them quickly under the tap, shake 'em out. They play great! When they dry out, they play worse than before. Eventually they die.
Wow! It didn't seem easy, but I thought it wasn't so hard. I was getting it ok, but there was a note I wasn't figuring out, until you said overblow. I can sometimes manage to squeeeeze an overblow around holes 4 or 5, but getting it so clean, I'll have to work on it. Great song! You must have a lot of fun taping all this!
I did a three-part lesson on those chords, as part of the 12-bar blues progression, fairly early in my lesson series. Between 10 and 25, I'm guessing.
thanx adam,im just startin out on the path, and ur lessons have been an inspiration,i did give up for a while, but you got me goin again ...once again cheers
Thanks for sharing this. I love this song, and I'm having fun learning how to play it while I learn overblows at the same time. Up until now, I've always associated that nasty third position with a minor tune. The overblows really open up ew doors!
Thanks so much for this tune breakdown - I just love the rhythm of it and all those touches you add that give it such depth. I've become a big overnight fan and can't get enough. All praise to you for all the YouTube posts and the new website. I'm just finding my feet with the Floyd's Hotel tune. All the very best.
Thanks much. Yesterday on a plane home from Seattle I tried to tab "Thunky Fing." It's tricky! I'm always emphasizing 16th note off-beats. It's easier for me to play than tab, frankly.
Heard dennis play this song and thought what the f##k is this... breakin it down for me is givin' me the code... many thanks ... I am sitting on the edge of my seat praying your leavin' more lessons on line.. many thanks for each and every moment you have spent making these lessons possible... they mean a lot to me...
lucky you Adam you got a fan from Morocco. you're awesome!

I can't remember what I do in this video! It's probably some little passing chord made by releasing my embouchure a little and letting some air in.

hi , no an overblow is compleatly differnt to a blow bend blow bends are from 8 to 10
ostringer9 3 years ago
but an overblow is a bend (see howard levy's expand your technique). the tounge and mouth placement are almost identical
mottag8830 3 years ago
