I was always confused by the part where Kate's dad and Larry's mom have that "awkward" moment before she says it's good to see him and she's glad he made it... I mean, it makes it seem like Larry and Kate actually have the same mother.

I'm a Texas kid, and we are a football crazy state. (American football that is), but the awesome thing about being from small town Texas is it doesn't matter what you do, the towns really rally around the kids and the school and it becomes a town pride thing. and that's what is really cool, doesn't matter the sport, football, basketball, baseball, track, and even schools that have hockey and soccer have tons of support if they are good or even if it is academic achievements.
