Dave; I just thank you so much for all of the work you have put on UTube. I use them frequently to learn new licks. You are such a really great player! Thanks for helping all of us who are learning.
@countrydream100 Hi there, this isn't Dave..however I can tell you that the range goes from about $800. to about $5,000. (USD) from a "not so great" USED to a NEW one...but on average, your looking at the $1,300. to $2,600. range for a Good Used single 10 (E-9th tuning) or 12 string (Universal tuning) with usually 4 knee levers and 3 pedals. GFI makes a Very decent "starter" steel for around $1,100. +or-. Go to Billy Cooper Music.com largest Steel dealer in the world. Great people
I wish to thank you all for your comments to my youtube broadcasts. It is very much appreciated. I do try and contact you all personally if there's any questions that I have been asked, and I also make note of all your requests too. Hi Dave , I listen to your playing quite often, wish I could play like that,Could you tell me what you use for for the bass sound,I would like to get something to play along with with my guitar
Okay if you like this then you will SLOVE (super love) Robert Randolph!!! Robert Randolph is THE BEST pedal steel guitarist I have ever heard! He just came out with a new CD and it’s AMAZING! His solos of him rocking out are to die for! When I listen to his music, I can feel every note, The music really just runs through your body and there aren’t too many artists I can say that about!! Check him out! You won’t be anything less than AMAZED

Dave, You are truely one of the greatest Pickers I've ever had the opportunity to listen to. I was born in N.E. Kentucky, USA. and I have heard them all, but I would rather listen to you...You play with soul that hasn't been found in the USA for many years. I just wanted you to know, You've got a friend in Tennessee, USA. Regards, James
My dad loved to hear you play. He would set for hours and play your music. If he
was here today he would be setting in this chair and playing your music. He gone but I know that he is still listening. Thank you so much for your music.
David, I must say, I found you here by mistake and I am so glad I did. Being a musician myself, I have to say , this is the best steel playing I have ever heard. Could listen to this all day long. Thanks and keep up the good work. Gene
Wow, I just discovered you today and my ultimate compliment to you would be that you've combined the sound, touch, and tone of John Hughey and Jerry Byrd! Keep posting, where do I find your CDs?
Wow man, this was above awesome,I don't think i've ever heard better steel guitar. What a great song to play with too. There's alot of times that all I wanna listen to is some good steel guitar, and boy does this fit the bill. Thanks for posting.
brings back memories when my dad was alive he was a huge country fan george jones merle haggard and the rest your absolutely incredible mr hartley god bless u xxx
Incredible! You make the steel sing! I grew up when George Jones sang it, then Aaron Neville blew me away with his version. Then just last nite I heard a better version of it by an unknown singer with no backup. Then listened to your great rendition! Keep up the great music.
Could you please erase my video comment. Just today I noticed that one isn't alloud to take music from someone else. Now I don't know how to erase my video coment. Maybe you could please? Carol P.S. I just thought it would be nice for you to hear someone sing to your music.
Are you familiar with the song 'Crying Steele Guitar'? My friend you play the best cying steele guitar I have heard in a long time. I bet you woke up one morning and suddenly became a great picker! Or did it take a little longer than that? It is wonderful to listen to you. I especially like the soft touch and hard licks on 'I Couldn't Leave You If I Tried'
Who says that Britian does not have talent? This man is living proof of it, he should be the on that show over there and have won that prize, not a bunch of teenagers hopping around like they have firecrackers in their pants. I have seen alot of great playing on here from this man himself, and those throughout the world. It is shame they are not more known in the public eye than they are. It is those that have the real talent that remains unseen and unrecognized.
Great job Dave you really done good i play that one on my flat top i want you to do sumthing for me zoom the camera out so i can see your foot work if you don't mind and again great job dave. guitarpicker88 out.......
Played masterfully. I thank you for this, and appreciate so much of your music. You are a great fan of, and boon to, country music. Maybe you could tune up some Bakersfield tunes and put them out...btw I'm subscribing just incase you do :-).
It is such a treat to hear such tasteful and beautifully-played pedal steel guitar. For many years I have played over and over records and cd's with brief pedal leads wherever I could find them. To hear such pure and unrushed music is a godsend.
Dave is truly a great player. I would like to see him in St Louis, or somewhere else. All his songs I have heard him do are so good. From a player in Humboldt, Kansas
With you doing your magic on that fantastic Rains who needs vocals, the steel does the talking. Where can I purchase CD's of your fine steel playing? Your're the greatest.
You also laid down the background? How many instruments do you claim? And like hummersmstr I have to also ask, Not practiced? Dude are you good or what???!!!!
I´ve been listening to steelguitar since the 60´s and i just want to say. Oh man, you´re so great! I enjoy every second when i sit here in Sweden listening.
Dave,,you are one of the many good ones, there are many good steel guitar players, but as i allways say,,every body is unique, so every body has different technique and the one you have is superb, greetings and my respect....
I know you as well as most and had the pleasure to play with you many times and each time has been a thrill for me. I recall telling you to go Stateside 25 years ago and you should.
My question is we all know how talented you are, but you dont get outside your box very often in terms of the music. We all know country music is in your soul but please play Somewhere over the Rainbow or Yesterday and get yet another dimension. We all know you can so lets see it. Please.
