  • I'm leaving Dec 3rd. Can't wait till I get to this moment!

  • All Marines are now issued 1 Set of Blues at Recruit Training. Reference MARADMIN 504/07 Paragraph 3 Sub-Paragraph D.

  • Things have changed a bit. When I graduated, we wore our Alphas

  • @SemperFido9915 Really? At San Diego? I've never seen a Boot Camp Graduation at San Diego in Alphas before (Maybe rarely) but the only pictures I've seen from graduating in Alphas was during WWII xD

  • @xxblackyburnzxx No, this was at Parris Island in 1980

  • I'm leaning towards Air Force but everytime I see a Marine vid I can't help but reconsider my options haha

  • @wandfreak13 lol aww, i tell ya, The Marines are fantastick, and ya know, i dont know, but seems theres much more pride with The Marines then other branches..that sound logical? i mean i dont want to insult ANYONE in the armed forces, They are all wonderful, but kinda understand what i said?

  • I was in San Diego, looking at the USS Texas, which was due for a complete overhaul in Bremerton. As it happened, my youngest son was graduating from MCRD, so I went to the ceremony. I'm so glad I did. It was on very impressive ceremony. Admirable young Marines....

  • what song is that in the beginning?

  • @phish1085 "Semper Fidelis" composed by John Phillip Sousa

  • The marine corps used to give the dress blues coat to all graduates, then they started giving it to the class honor grad, which was usually the guide( the one with the platoon flag) when I graduated in 94, we all had The khaki shirts on.

  • @j1hero why did they stop that? i noticed only 1 person wore the dress blues but didnt know why. and thank you for the info

  • @thecolaratlady The dress blue coat is still issued to everyone. However, only the guide gets to wear it during the graduation ceremony. That also means he gets to spend an extra hundred bucks or so out of his own pocket buying the leather barracks cover (the ones issued are cloth) and a poopton of anodized buttons for the coat and even gets to sew them on himself. Fun stuff.

  • @ebecker10 ah yes, gotta love it, everything comes out of their own pockets..WTG WASHINGTON! NOT

  • @e081194eng These Marines told me they did not have any time to practice on the Parade Deck prior to graduation day. It may be a bit off, but these Marines were proud and did their best in the circumstances they were in. They have all now been deployed at least once and have and continue to serve as Marines. The best of the best!

  • @USMCmom005 Amen sweetie

  • Oorah!

  • Terrorist scum....this is what you're up against. ;-)

  • Are the marines carrying the flags in front of each platoon honor graduates?

  • We, present to you, AMerica's newest MARINES OORAH!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks dad,(he graduated in the late 80's though) Once a marine, always a marine.

  • I like the way they graduate in dress blues now. In my time we were all in dress greens, and only the guide had dress blues.

  • when i graduated boot camp on august 3, 2007, we wore our service charlies not dress blue charlies

  • Cant wait till im 18. Marine Corps is my calling. Although im only 15, obviously not a marine, Semper Fi my friends.

  • This is fucking beutiful.

  • Why in some graduation videos from Parris Island, Marines are dressed in their Dress Alphas and in other videos they are in their Dress Blues? Do they wear both during the graduation ceremony? Or is one for Family Day and the other for Graduation day only?

  • @xthatsxradd I may be wrong but I think Dress Blues are at San Diego and Alphas at Paris Island. I will check to find out for sure though.

  • "Hell, these are Marines. Men like them held Guadalcanal and took Iwo Jima. Baghdad ain't shit."

Marine Major General John F. Kelly

  • don't you have to go to college to become a corporal?

  • @loriesnyder no, just time in grade, and have to know your stuff. everyone gets dress blues, since if you look at the rank on their sleeves most of the graduates are Privates, and maybe one or two PFC's.

oorah west coast marines. im stationed in Camp Lejuene NC, and there aren't many of us here. lol

  • no. corporal is an enlisted rank. it goes private, pfc, lance corp, then corporal.

  • @loriesnyder did u really ask that? dude thats for officer. u get corporal the same way u do pfc and lance corporal. if u had to go to collage, i no alot of sgt.s including my dad that would still be lance corporals right now.

  • do all marines get dress blues, or is it just officers?

  • All Marines get their dress blues right after graduation. Before you leave the recruit depot on the last day, you will go pick them up. The red stripe, (called the blood stripe) is given once you reach the rank of corporal.

  • @USMCmom005 Did you know recruits drill with A4s now? And I still never got a running suit!

  • @USMCmom005 the recruits have the choice to buy blues at MCX after the graduation or in the future the Honor graduates for the company as well as the platoons get the dress blues with a rank of pfc due to their outstanding leadership and counduct NCO'S and above are issued trousers with the blood stripe

  • @USMCmom005 is there a reason they are not wearing the coat/jacket that commes with the dress blues?

  • @2JuiceBoxBoys The blue trousers, khaki shirt and white cover is considered the "Delta" uniform - you'll see Recruiters wearing this uniform when it's too hot to wear the full Dress Blue uniform or when they're working. On formal occasions, they will wear the full Dress Blue uniform.

At graduation - the graduate may wear the Delta uniform because of weather conditions. The graduation uniform changes based on the commands recognition of severe weather, either hot or cold,

  • @USMCmom005 thnx for the info.

  • @USMCmom005 I graduated Feb 6th 2004 btw.

  • @USMCmom005 is there a reason they are not wearing the coat/jacket that commes with the dress blues? and why did only a few of the graduates have sabers?

  • @USMCmom005 Thank You for the answers to our questions, how come there's white pants as well as blue and i think khaki (spelling)

  • @USMCmom005

Sorry, but that's not true--only the top recruit is given dress blues--everyone else must buy them (they are optional as new recruits). Notice only one recruit is wearing dress blues per platoon.

  • @USMCmom005 I didn't get dress blues after grad, I got "bought" everything else with my pay at PI (nothing was free). My graduation uniform were the Alpha's.

  • USMCmom005 is right, but if you were wondering about the Marines graduating in their dress blues, they are the company guides. they are the best in their company and graduate as an E-3 Lance Corporal

  • @loriesnyder we were issued the dress blues around phase 2. They were fitted mid phase 3. And we received the white belt and gold EGA's the last night on the island.

  • @loriesnyder And i was just thinking of those very same questions to ask and i saw yours as well as 2juicyboxboys questions, since i've seen alot of vids and graduation uniforms were different here and there

  • Proud of them all, and continuing to be

  • Congrats to all of you. My son graduates next Friday.

SLEEP WELL AMERICA, OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS HAVE YOUR BACK.

  • @djs5566 Congratulations to your son!

  • oh shit son i cant belive i was there for thay OORAH plt 2113 Echo company where it all started
