Michael had the edge in speed and throws a better deep ball (stronger arm). actually, most programs get rid of their players quickly. oklahoma's top freshman wide receiver made a youtube video where he rapped about having guns. he has already been dismissed from the team, cause stoops and oklahoma have class. maybe one day tech will earn respect, but they got a lot of work to do. if I am not mistaken, they had some unsportsmanlike activity with the basketball team as well.

The only basketball incident I can think of is when our true freshman forward Jeff Allen bumped a referee after he disagreed with a call. Stupid and immature, yes, but it wasn't anything serious.
I can't remember what the bball incident was, but that doesn't sound like it. I think stoops handled it good. most coaches do. look at les miles with periloux. he had a chance, but blew it. I think his only legal stuff was that gambling charge. other than that, it was team and academic stuff. I am not saying tech is any worse or better than the others, but you can create a reputation quick. look at FSU, aka free shoes university. it doesn't take much to ruin credibility.
I'm not saying that Beamer is a disciplinarian or anything. We certainly have had some questionable guys on the team before. I'm just saying that Marcus Vick was a special case. I mean, Beamer was very good friends with the Vick family at the time, so to have to dismiss him was probably harder than it would have been otherwise.
To his credit though, he did toss out our star running back Branden Ore this offseason.

Nice video compilation, could do without the low class, gangster music. It makes it hard to forget they both turned out to pretty classless individuals, but I still love what they did on the field. Go VT.

Say what you want about professional career. NFL is a business, college football is a game, and both Vicks played that game as good as anyone ever. Even Marcus won 10 games his only year starting. Including over Louisville, in one of their best years. If he was brought up differently like you, he'd be making millions right now, even at 5-foot-nothin'. Its a shame, and football fans lost out when he blew his chance.

the falcons will never have vick as a starter again, Ryan fits in to well with the new offense, and with a good running back in michael turner vicks style of play would be usless to the falcons, vick would be a great fit in either San Fran, Seattle, St. Louis, Oakland, or Miami when he's released because of the need for a QB to be able to make plays with both his feet and his arm.---and unless the falcons could draft either crabtree or kenny britt from Rutgers they wont have any blocking WR

Mike can throw ATL just didnt let him showcase his arm because they over used Dunn. They also didnt have an outside threat for Vick. Crumpler was his best player 2 catch but he was running 20 yard under neath shit. Vick(Mike) is a beast @ runnin and throwin

not true!! that's like saying if a sniper can use a rifle with precision acurracy then so can a cowboy. Vick isn't a true pocket passer(obviously) he needs recievers that can block and go deep for his roll outs. not roddy white.

michael vick is 10 times the quarterback that ryan will ever be. vick has a stronger arm then ryan. ryan is a lot more accurate. vick is unbelievably more dangerous running the ball then ryan is. and big vick? vick was 6'0...ryan is 6'5.

vick is not 10 times the QB ryan is. vick had the potential but he was to ignorant and cocky to take time to study film and practice accuracy. he was a show guy who wanted all the attention by rushing every other play. vicks best record was 11-5 with atalnta in his fourth year. ryan matched that as a rookie.

wong, in vicks first year as a starter he was tossing to a young finneran, crumpler (a te) and the...wait for it....ever dangerous combo of shawn jefferson and trevor gaylor......boy talk about being the same as roddy white and michael jenkins....oh and let's not forget ryan had turner behind him for a cool 1700 rushing yds...vick's bes rusher that season? dunn at 927.

read my comment. i said when vick left the falcons, he was throwing to the same guys ryan is now but ryan is doing it without a pro bowl tight end. on vicks best year dunn rushed for 1415 and duckett for 500, not to mention a defense MUCH BETTER then the one we have now, i believe in vicks best year they were in the top 5. ryans first year our D was like 20th. vick is not 10x the QB matt ryan is and thats what i said. know what your talking about before trying to be some hardass on the internet

Scramblers rarely have long-term success in the NFL. They get old, then injured, then slow. After his speed is gone, Vick will be useless, since he is clearly afraid to stay in the pocket.

actually, most programs get rid of their players quickly. oklahoma's top freshman wide receiver made a youtube video where he rapped about having guns. he has already been dismissed from the team, cause stoops and oklahoma have class. maybe one day tech will earn respect, but they got a lot of work to do. if I am not mistaken, they had some unsportsmanlike activity with the basketball team as well.

Jarboe already had a target on his back at OU because he brought a gun to his high school. They had already warned him that if he did anything at all out of line, he would be dismissed.
The only basketball incident I can think of is when our true freshman forward Jeff Allen bumped a referee after he disagreed with a call. Stupid and immature, yes, but it wasn't anything serious.

I can't remember what the bball incident was, but that doesn't sound like it. I think stoops handled it good. most coaches do. look at les miles with periloux. he had a chance, but blew it. I think his only legal stuff was that gambling charge. other than that, it was team and academic stuff. I am not saying tech is any worse or better than the others, but you can create a reputation quick. look at FSU, aka free shoes university. it doesn't take much to ruin credibility.

I'm not saying that Beamer is a disciplinarian or anything. We certainly have had some questionable guys on the team before. I'm just saying that Marcus Vick was a special case. I mean, Beamer was very good friends with the Vick family at the time, so to have to dismiss him was probably harder than it would have been otherwise.
To his credit though, he did toss out our star running back Branden Ore this offseason.

yeah, I know about ore. don't know what the reasons were though. any news on that? it was kind of hush hush. I bet it was academic or just an attitude. I will give the vick's credit for this. the two of them together can't touch the one of lawrence phillips. that guy never met a woman he didn't love, or didn't want to punch.
