I'm long out of the Church, but enjoyed the music for this greatly, this was always one of my favorite hymns, and I still enjoy it. I also love "Scotland the Brave" so having the bagpipe arrangement made me love this that much more. I could see how the picture/slideshow would also be very inspiring to believers. Cheers!

They create this music as part of their mission to provide wholesome entertainment for families. It is one of the rare instances which gives me cause to admire the LDS church, for Mr de Azevedo creates some of the most beautiful music on earth. How come the second coming did not happen when Joseph Smith gave us the date? - "It is the will of the Lord that those who went to Zion, with a determination to lay down their lives, if necessary, should be ordained to the ministry, and go forth to prune the vineyard for the last time, or the coming of the Lord, which was night -- even fifty-six years, should wind up the scene", Joseph Smith Jr., 1891, (The History of the Church, vol II, page 182)
This is the true Church and the restored Gospel. The reason we sing praise to the man is because he has done so much for the people of this earth. He was just a man but a very faithful servant of God and if not for him we would not have the gospel and still be in apostasy. I am grateful for Joseph Smith and it makes me sad when people tell lies about him. If you want to know the truth then all you have to do is pray about it and God will give you the truth. My mom prayed and missionaries came.
The BIBLE says God shares his glory with NO One, So why are you offering praise to "the man"? because you do not worship the God of the Bible. YHWH is Spirit and has NOT a BODY of flesh and bone as your "man" states in Doctrine and Cov. 131. I would guess that I know more about LDS history than you do.

It would be interesting to count the millions of souls who have perished at the hands of Christ's followers. Even today, people die in the USA for lack of health care because our Christian conservatives are worried about their taxes, actually LACKING the faith that God will see their needs are met REGARDLESS of how high their taxes are. I'm so glad for the church i remember mymom telling me about one of my ancestors from scot land that her husband didnt believe so she left with the kids and went to utah and the husband sent some one to get the kids and the wife because he though they were brain washers and they didnt take her back because she looked happy now they laugh at us because we send out missionarys

I'm so grateful for Joseph Smith and all that he's done for me, my ancestors, and the world. He's always been my favorite prophet, and I'm so grateful to be able to go on a Trek this year as a Beehive to better understand what he and the other pioneers went through to bring a miraculous work from the Lord apon earth. I love my Savior, and I pray that everyone may come to accept Him and what He has done for all of us. I love Heavenly Father and can't wait to joyfully reunite with Him in Heaven.

@rwclarabelle since 54v115 wouldn't answer your request, The section he is referring to was the 1835 D&C, Section CI(101). It was page 251, as printed by the Church. "Inasmuch as this church of Christ has been reproached with the crime of fornication, and polygamy: we declare that we believe, that one man should have one wife; and one woman, but one husband, except in case of death, when either is at liberty to marry again." This section was removed in the 1876 edition of the D&C.

Joseph Smith is believed to have had a vision after a spiritual revival in the early 1820's where he sought the counsel of the Lord to direct him. There is much confusion regarding this vision because there are several differing accounts of it. These varying accounts offer conflicting dates of Joseph's vision, his age (whether he was 14 or maybe 16 years of age), and conflicting accounts of who the spiritual personages were who spoke to Joseph (God the Father and His Son Jesus, or an Angel)
This was played at my grandads funeral. It was excellent for everone to listen to. Me and my husband are due to become a member of the church of jesus christ of latterday saints next weekend as we have felt it is the right thing for us both. It has made my life so much better already. I am happy at last. If any missionaries knock at your door, let them in, you will feel it is good and right like we did.

If I'm not mistaken, the apostasy began after the the last apostle (John) stopped leading the church around 100 A.D. Up until then, apostles had been nominated and set apart as they died (like when they replaced judas (The Acts 1:22-26), to act as a witness to the ressurection. That is also why Paul was set apart as an apostle, is because he had a special witness of the ressurection. After a while, the apostles became spread out and killed, and "the apostasy" began.

But, notice that is does mention that JESUS anointed him. In doing that, it states that what he did could not have been done without his and our Savior with him, encouraging him. Real evil con-men do some noticeably different things when their life is in jeopardy. One reason they're con-men, is because they want to reap benefits, like wealth. I'm not sure that they would be so willing to even write books or build cities and temples, even less willing to leave it all behind on three occasions, and swallow the pain caused by the loss of five kids, tar-and-feathering, and constant persecution, including two cases of imprisonment and lots of back-stabbing.
I love this composer. He really brings music to life. I echo the sentiments shared in the video. I love the Prophet Joseph Smith and the truths he restored about our Savior Jesus Christ and the Father of us all. As Joseph well understood, may we all live our lives in a way so we won't have guilt when we return our God.
Also, like i said earlier, i have the evidence handy in case you want it available. PM me if it interests you, i actually am interested in hearing people's POV's because i might truly be missing out on possible truths. But similarly, so might you, so PM me if it interests you. If you did do some research, you would find out that there is more proof backing up the BoM than the skeptic media claims. And con-man, really? So he allowed himself to be beat up, tarred and feathered, allowed to lose a tooth and forced to drink alcohol despite the wounds, during which time one of his adopted sons died too, and then went ahead and preached the next day? Even a villain would probably suffer a breakdown, yet he continued his teachings the next day, despite.
@hobo1512 how about you provide it if it's so "out there". I can provide you with impeccable non-mormon character witnesses if you wish. but then again, I could hand you the plates of the book of mormon and it wouldn't change how you think.
For the rest of Christianity, if not all of religion itself hangs on a loose thread called faith, and sometimes tradition. I did my research and found what could be tangible proof backing up the LDS church, and i'm sure more shall be revealed over time.

This is the true Church and the restored Gospel. The reason we sing praise to the man is because he has done so much for the people of this earth. He was just a man but a very faithful servant of God and if not for him we would not have the gospel and still be in apostasy. I am grateful for Joseph Smith and it makes me sad when people tell lies about him. If you want to know the truth then all you have to do is pray about it and God will give you the truth. My mom prayed and missionaries came.

I'm so grateful for Joseph Smith and all that he's done for me, my ancestors, and the world. He's always been my favorite prophet, and I'm so grateful to be able to go on a Trek this year as a Beehive to better understand what he and the other pioneers went through to bring a miraculous work from the Lord apon earth. I love my Savior, and I pray that everyone may come to accept Him and what He has done for all of us. I love Heavenly Father and can't wait to joyfully reunite with Him in Heaven.

Born to one of the 'secondary' wives in a plural marriage, his mother was cast aside by his father when God 'suddenly decreed' that plural marriage was wrong after all. @rwclarabelle since 54v115 wouldn't answer your request, The section he is referring to was the 1835 D&C, Section CI(101). It was page 251, as printed by the Church. "Inasmuch as this church of Christ has been reproached with the crime of fornication, and polygamy: we declare that we believe, that one man should have one wife; and one woman, but one husband, except in case of death, when either is at liberty to marry again." This section was removed in the 1876 edition of the D&C.

There is much confusion regarding this vision because there are several differing accounts of it. This was played at my grandads funeral. It was excellent for everone to listen to. Me and my husband are due to become a member of the church of jesus christ of latterday saints next weekend as we have felt it is the right thing for us both. It has made my life so much better already. I am happy at last. If any missionaries knock at your door, let them in, you will feel it is good and right like we did.

If you will Google "A Remarkable Journey to Mormonism" you will find someone who at first tried to save her Mormon friend, then realized that it was actually where she needed to be herself. If I'm not mistaken, the apostasy began after the the last apostle (John) stopped leading the church around 100 A.D. Up until then, apostles had been nominated and set apart as they died (like when they replaced judas (The Acts 1:22-26), to act as a witness to the ressurection. That is also why Paul was set apart as an apostle, is because he had a special witness of the ressurection. After a while, the apostles became spread out and killed, and "the apostasy" began.

I am so greatful to be LDS, and to those Fellow Christians, I am sorry that you have a hard time being more Christlike. To those that are not blinded by hatred, I would recommend actually praying to God, The source of All Truth. We believe that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. Why wouldn't God reach out to his Children and try and Communicate like he has in the past? It would be very interesting for people to learn what we truly believe instead of making assumptions like this.

That's what is amazing to me.... You all attack our views and point out this and that, while contradicting the last person to attack us. That will answer your question on where in the Bible it says Jesus Christ's church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, is Jesus Christ's church.

@mironyuk - Be careful what you say. The Savior died 5 years younger than Joseph Smith and so did John the Baptist.... as well as many others. Many have been required to seal their testimonies with their blood. So, your reasoning doesn't hold any water. I can think of something else it might hold... but no, not water.

@eeikman praise is not worship. you give praise to a child when they do the right thing. a man who has done so much as Joseph Smith for this world definitely deserves praise. But, notice that is does mention that JESUS anointed him. In doing that, it states that what he did could not have been done without his and our Savior with him, encouraging him. If it bothers somebody, they are simply not listening to the lyrics. I'm not trying to argue by the way, just sharing my take on that.

Real evil con-men do some noticeably different things when their life is in jeopardy. One reason they're con-men, is because they want to reap benefits, like wealth. I'm not sure that they would be so willing to even write books or build cities and temples, even less willing to leave it all behind on three occasions, and swallow the pain caused by the loss of five kids, tar-and-feathering, and constant persecution, including two cases of imprisonment and lots of back-stabbing.

I love this composer. He really brings music to life. I echo the sentiments shared in the video. I love the Prophet Joseph Smith and the truths he restored about our Savior Jesus Christ and the Father of us all. As Joseph well understood, may we all live our lives in a way so we won't have guilt when we return our God.

If you did do some research, you would find out that there is more proof backing up the BoM than the skeptic media claims. And con-man, really? So he allowed himself to be beat up, tarred and feathered, allowed to lose a tooth and forced to drink alcohol despite the wounds, during which time one of his adopted sons died too, and then went ahead and preached the next day? Even a villain would probably suffer a breakdown, yet he continued his teachings the next day, despite.

For the rest of Christianity, if not all of religion itself hangs on a loose thread called faith, and sometimes tradition. I did my research and found what could be tangible proof backing up the LDS church, and i'm sure more shall be revealed over time.

@hobo1512 Actually DNA proved the book of mormon true.They were looking for Judah DNA when they should have been looking for manasseh. And manasseh DNA isn't available from a mito source. It is amazing however that LDS Patriarchs were deeming orientals linage thru manasseh for centuries.
