They really should! And at least try to clean up and restore the ones like this that have deteriorated. This is some great stuff that shouldn't be lost to time!

They did for IV. It was called "The Lost Cut" but it was never released. Only a few saw it.

@Moondog23 I believe these scenes are going to be cleaned up and released on the Blu-Ray next year.

I always thought they should have kept the Biggs scenes in the movie. Instead, we don't see him until they make their assault on the Death Star. I guess they cut the scenes, because it makes Luke a little more mysterious, since you don't see him until the droids appear.
