no. It really isn't. It looks really fun, and creating characters is fun, but the actual game is terrible. It is really easy the entire game. A 5 year old could play it without any problem. I do not recommend buying this game. It was so boring that it has been collecting dust since the first week I bought it. It was not fun after a few days.

Galactic Adventures was fairly good actually, for being a bit of a gimmick, if you downloaded good missions it was actually quite amusing. The original Spore was a heap of shit though, they spent two years of development just removing things.

Spore was dumbed down, it is great fun to younger kids, but it is a shallow game indeed. IT's fun teraforming other worlds and populating them with ecosystems, but even thats gets old fast.

You're right, terraforming is the fun part, but it gets bogged down because every five seconds you're being attacked by another hostile alien force. They attack you so much that you barely are able to find time to explore. It was very disappointing.

At first, the giant enemy crab was a giant enemy singular celled creature, then it was a giant enemy sea creature (when it took it's true crab form, just without the kickass legs), and then it was a giant enemy crab creature. SPORE rocks.

(as an addition, it also made giant enemy crab tribe, then giant enemy crab city, then giant enemy crab weapon of mass destruction vs planets, because we all know enemies, no matter how giant or crabby, are always intent on blowing SOMETHING up...)
