  • Hit this on youtube and shut the fuck up !

    "Macedonia - The Ashmolean Museum's Testimony 2011 (2/2) "

Read history before you open your mouth !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • MACEDONIAN = ANCIENT GREEK !!!!!!!

I can`t believe how retarded some people are!

Enough with this story for Fuck`s Sake!

  • I'm from Bosnia and I understood almost everything you said, there is a few words I don't understand but I get the idea of what you are talking about. I didn't know Macedonian and Serbian-Croatian was that similar, almost the same.

  • Shame really!!! how can a slavic language be macedonian??what it has to do with Alexander the Great??some of you are big idiots,really.....reading some comments here....who says that Richard speaks the language that Alexander the Great spoke...!!! Go learn some history.....idiots!!!

  • Човекот си има жена од Македонија и не му требаат исфрустрирани Бугари да му објаснуваат за дијалекти. Голем поздрав до полиглотот!

seriously your speech is so fluent!

  • Hey, this language is awesome, what language course did you use to learn it?

  • lol...I'm Bulgarian and I understood everything...serbs must understand also everything cause macedonian is Bulgarian with some Serb influence and accent. And I must say you're saying it pretty good(I mean no strange accent).

  • @pastet2x2 jadi gomna be kreten

  • this is very impressive, you speak better than me even though i'm part macedonian.

  • you speak good. you just have an american accent. ali dobro!

  • You stressed македонски ("Macedonian") incorrectly. You put the stress on the third syllable, but it should go on the second syllable, so it would be mah-KED-awn-ski [maˈkɛdɔnski]. Besides that it's very good.

  • torbyrne... you are awesome. You being a third party, please shut these greasy Bulgars up and tell them that the Macedonian language has enough features and elements that make it well enough sufficient to be a separate language and therefore separate ethnicity. It wasn't created by the communists overnight as they love to parrot.

    Pozdrav i se najubavo!

  • It is normal for slavic speakers to understand each other in notions.

I think that's the charm of the slavic languages.

    Once again, секоја чест!

  • @m20082008 yes.. when i watch some old russian movies i can understand almost everything... and the alphabet is very similar... so its not that hard

  • Браво, Ричард. Течно и правилно зборуваш македонски јазик.

    Поздрави од Македонија!

  • I am bulgarian and I understand everything, because macedonian is a dialect of bulgarian. Serbian and russian are also close to bulgarian, but they are indipendent languages.

  • респект царе одлично зборуваш Македонски!!

  • Ричард Газешшшшш :D

  • Wow well done! You sound native!

*To all the spammers concerned with the history of our language, I would just like to say that Macedonian is SLAVIC and NOT west bulgarian, it is a SEPARATE SLAVIC LANGUAGE. and NO it is NOT ancient Macedonian, Ancient Macedonian is closer to Greek... Yes you can find many Ancient Macedonian/Greek/Latin/Turkish WORDS used in contemporary Macedonian, (as well as English) all, but what makes the language SLAVIC is the grammar! (BUT THAT DOESN'T MAKE IT BULGARIAN)

  • Wow, amazing Richard! You´re a true inspiration.

  • and im bulgarian and I understand every word o.O

  • Richard.. Do you speak greek'?

  • Одлично зборуваш Macedonian браво

  • Одлично зборуваш Macedonian

  • Nice video.. I'm from Croatia and I understood almost everything without subtitles :)

  • I am a Macedonian, I have a Macedonian's consciousness, and so I have my own Macedonian view of the past, present, and future of my country and of all the South Slavs; and so I should like them to consult us, the Macedonians, about all the questions concerning us and our neighbors, and not have everything end merely with agreements between Bulgaria and Serbia about us - but without us …Misirkov

  • ANCIENT MACEDONIAN WORDS:

    -ISTORIA - HISTORY

    -ATT - HORSE

    -KRATER - WHOLE

    -KOSMOS - SPACE

-ATAR - land around the villages

    -ATER - but,yet

    -DOMA - home

-ETOI - surely ....if you need more just ask me!

  • YOU MUST TO BE PROUD TO SPEAK ON THE SAME LANGUAGE AS THE GREAT ANCIENT MACEDONIANS!

  • @CAKIMacedonian

OMG you are crazy, THIS IS NOT ANCIENT MACEDONIAN LANGUAGE,THIS IS SLAVIC.

hahahahaha Alexander the great didn't know a word in your language,HE SPOKE IN GREEK !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @CAKIMacedonian

i can't believe how IDIOT you are,but it's not your fault, you were born that way

Alexander the great was Macedonian and Macedonian means GREEK

  • @Bellegr Tell me,if the word Macedonian described his tribe belonging(ethnicity from present view),

    than what the word greek,described???

    greeks,were not a tribe....???!!!

  • @CAKIMacedonian

  • Hey I flagged this video inappropriate by accident. Please forgive me. :)) Anyways, please give me your Skype name and email please?

  • @RoseP0990 The best advice I can give you is to do some reading, practice speaking it to yourself until you feel you can express most general things and then seek out Macedonian speakers and practice it as much as you can. You have to push yourself and get out of your confort zone to do it, but it's well worth it and the confidence and fluency come after a little while. :)

  • Yeah, if you know Macedonian, you'll probably have no problems getting around in Bulgaria.

  • Hi Richard,

Odlicno ste go naucile makedonskiot jazik, cestitki za toa. Jas veke 6 godini ziveam vo UK-Manchester no ne sum bas sigurna deka zboruvam tolku dobro angliski kolku ti makedonski.

  • im macedonia aussie but ddam ur good i have benn speak macedonian since i was littel to talk to my grandperancs ur realy good for only beening doing this for 3 years i hav cuzing they speak it for der hole life and dont have a accent great vid

  • RANDOM QUESTION! nationalism and geopolitical issues aside: isnt macedonian a dialect of bulgarian? if i put a bulgarian and a macedonian in a room, would they be able to converse without any problems? isnt it just like how serbo-croatian is now called serbian, croatian, montenegrin, and bosnian, even though its the same language?-balkanization-

  • @arivas713 you would be able to understand eachother and depending on the dialects, for example, west bulgarian dialects are almost identical to macedonian.I'ts not the same issue as serbo/croatian but it's quite similar.

  • bravo decko alal da ti e :)

  • - It's good to learn more and more languages without mattering the politics and that shit...

  • i am full macedonian

    thats very good

  • I just started studying Bulgarian (been going for a few days) and I can already make out quite a few words that are similar!

  • You might as well learn bulgarian. Its very close to macedonian (couldnt be closer actually)

  • @IldAbd Well of course i am Macedonian and i can understand Russian a little too. But my dad knows Russian Better than me

  • The genius has returned!!!!!!!

  • Одличен си! Браво!!!

  • You must really like the Macedonian language. BRAVO!

  • Изгледа девојката со која учеше беше од Битола па така имаш попримено повеќе од нашиот говор

    da si ziv i zdrav

  • bravos

  • Super go imas pogodeno akcentot, mali sitni greski, ama super zvuci se! Bravo!

You got the accent right! You make small mistakes. It's not "svigas" it's "mi se dopagja". and so on...

    Anyway! BRAVO!

  • @drackula1985 не знам како стоиш со читање на кирилица :)

  • The best way I've come up with to learn a language is by first listening to songs; second watching movies; third translating written material.

All of this after you have read about the general structure of that language in Wikipedia :) No need for courses and grammar. Once you have learned one member of a particular group (e.g. Italian or Russian), the rest is piece of cake.

  • vrlo dobre :D

  • You must really love language. That was good Macedonian. It's good to have ya on board mate! Cheers!

  • It sounds like 70% Bulgarian, 25% Serbian, and 5% something else I don't know.

  • @usenetposts You are generally wright although I am not sure that there are 25% Serbian in that Bulgarian.

  • Bravo for you!!!!!

  • that is really interesting. i have many russian friends and i can understand them when they speak russian slowly and clearly. russian is a very beautiful language though

  • dobro si!! :D I like macedonian

  • I found some good teaching material on the internet. Google "Ferd'nand".

These are wordless cartoons. I have the students describe the situation trying to use all the important structures. Then I have the students role play the situation.

I've had a lot of success with this. It's the fastest way I've seen to give them a good command of important structures.

This is good material for language exchanges too. It's good for any language.

  • abe kak moje bulgarite da sme tolkova prosti bati plemeto divo sme

  • Македониан е еден добро јазик.јас moжe овие јазик.

  • WOW! Really really good! I give you straight A for Macedonian language!

Браво пријателе си научил навистина солидно! Поздрав од Македонија до тебе.

  • az sum bulgarka ama razbiram makedonski ...to e pochti sushtoto.sorry..reality check:/

  • i can just tell you that you have only 5 % accent.

macedonian is my first language and i can tell you that you are the first person i have ever met to speak macedonian with such a clarity ....

    prodolzi taka..pozdrav

  • I don't know Macedonian but the captions confirm I understand a lot of what you said.

  • To anyone who knows, how similar is Macedonian to Bulgarian? I hear they are quite closely related.

  • @qzchris they are related as Macedonian was spread across europe along with the Cyrillic alphabet. but not close like British to American or anything like that.

  • @qzchris There is around 50% of same words + 20% similar words, but 30% is different (I am not talking about foreign words in macedonian language). Very different grammar and different accent!

  • Прекрасно говориш. Поздрав од Охрид

  • Bonjour Richard, félicitations à l'occasion de l'apprentissage de nombreuses langues. Moi, je suis britannique mais je voulais pratiquer mon français. J'ai un question pour toi, combien de temps faut-il en général pour apprendre une langue si vous n'êtes pas étudiant à l'université?

  • Can't you post a video with only Swedish? I would be great :D

  • A Swedish video would be very interesting!

  • @Ligner16 I could do a video in Swedish and I may do one day. I tend to use a language I feel adds something to the topic I am discussing. If I have an idea for a video that I think would be best done in Swedish, I will do it. :)

  • ur macedonian is good,

  • since your a professnol with languages . i go to spanish class twice a week for four months now . in your expertise , How long will it take for me to learn a language . I was hoping a least 2 years for two days a week and a little study on the side . And as always , god bless you and your family and your a big inspiration in my life .

  • this is amazing. I am Bulgarian and I can tell that you speak without any accent! An amazing job!

  • Your Macedonian is very good.

  • I am Polish (at least half^^) and I can understand some words, too^^

  • because its a slavic language like polish theyre all related so we can all understand each other somewhat (poles, russians, serbs, croats, bosnians, macedonians, montenegrins, slovenians, belarussians, ukrainians, bulgarians, etc.)

  • I am Russian and I can understand Macedonian a little without subtitles in English :-)

  • @IldAbd

I'm surprised you can. But you probably know Russian better than I know Macedonian.

We usually use the same words but pronounce them differently...our language is much more primitive and simplified.

Like the words "black death" in russian is pronounced "Tcherniy Smyert" while in Macedonian it's "Tsrn Smrt"

  • @IldAbd you understand a slavic language monkeydonian..

  • I learned Spanish by working with some Mexican friends of mine and now I'm working on my Portuguese. I would like to speak Portuguese with you some time!!! You're awesome...

  • It's about time you post another video. I need peole like you to keep me inspired to continue learning. Do not let the long delay happen again. Thanks

  • Majestuoso ^^

  • Second video from Torbyrne - there it is! Thanks a lot for posting. This is really inspiring.

  • Long time no hear from... nice vid.

  • Great video, thank you for the tips. And you are right about never knowing a language compleatly, I have lived my entire life in Macedonia, and I still run in to new words from time to time...

    Pozdrav od Makedonija. :)

  • Cool another video! Looking forward to reading the English captions :D

  • I second Luca's comment. I've been looking forward to more videos from you, and although I don't speak a word of Macedonian (yet!), it's still hugey encouraging and inspiring to watch nonetheless.

    Chris
