Cupping was used long before Mohammad, but actually healing anything does is not so much beside the skin/muskles sometimes (and honey even less). That doesn't mean it's not "nice", but you can't use ancient traditional methods instead of modern medicine. And especially cupping can worsen some conditions and - in ancient times - lead to other problems (no sterile equipment).

Yes, the prophet did mention that this therapy works, but was not the first to say so. Cupping therapy has been used as a folk medicine since long before the time of the prophet. The Chinese started using the technique somewhere around since before the recorded history of China, and could have come from somewhere else, probably the areas to the north, as it is a treatment for cold invasion.

I believed you may suffer from neck compression problem.

1. GET MRI & Xray scan to let the doc diagnose the problem area. If it's true that the spinal bone had pinching on the spinal nerve. You need more that just Cupping method.

It doesn't, the whole thing derives from humoral medicine which basically revolves around that good health is a balance between between the bodily fluids.

So for instance, if someone showed symptoms that would by that belief be derived from having too much blood, then cupping was performed.

The only possible effect it could have would be to apply some kind of acupressure, pherhaps for a relaxing effect.

I see a lot of ppl asking the question what is this good for? I am only a student of Chinese medicine but I can tell you briefly. This relieves stugnated blood on the body and a tremendous help with pain in the body. If you watch the cups you see the body being darker than other spots. Where it is dark, there is slow flowing or stagnated blood. The doctor does more treatment on those spots, thus restoring natural blood flow and tremendously reduce pain. It's far not as bad as it looks.
