Sounds great!! You are wonderful--really feel the music and yet keep the magnificent structure. The organ, too, is balanced--lush yet clear--not muddy. Mighty fine organs up there in Appleton--no need to go to Europe to play Bach. Thank you for the delightful post.
@windstorm1000 Thank you! Well you do have to go to europe to experience the older organs, but voicing can be done on any of them to accomodate any style of music and playing. As long as its a tracker.
Wow superbe prestation, quelques lenteurs par moment que j'aurais peut-être abrégées mais cela reste tout de même très spectaculaire. Congratulations ^^
@Arkhantes well lets try this in english, being the fact that it was a 5 very heavy 4 manual tracker organ it was impossible to play faster, and i tried to carefully pick spots where i could release tension from my hands (owwie) but i guess they can be heard anyway. plus i did have to use thumb pistons and toe studs to change registration, those pauses youll hear any organist make...
@c0string : well, no problems ^^ everyone has his personnal interpretation. I've already heard some organists who played faster, but it's not a reason to play every time fast. If you play slowly, that's your choice, and it's nice^^ After all, who can define what the Music is ? ^^
@Arkhantes True, have heard faster as well like Jean Guillou, however it completly engulfs the music into speed and the mlody itself is not heard. Speed doesn't mean "job well done" after all... I've heard people play Widor's Toccata fast as well and it just misses the point. I do like the interpretation piece on your page. What is it, wheres it from?
@c0string : my interpretation is a piece called Indaco, from Ludovico Einaudi, a great Italian pianist. You may find the sheet or the music on his "Nightbook". My cousin and me are really partial to him ^^
@BoboVicus incase you havent noticed other pictures attached to the recording... it is in Appleton. Look at the whole thing before making a stupid comment like this.
@c0string ... ok sorry, don't get your panties in a bunch. Last i checked the St. Bavo's organ wasn't in wisconsin, considering I've seen it before. next time actually look at the picture before you put it in a stupid video like this. The music is good. but the one who uploaded this video's a douche i guess. enjoy your dislike. Wisconsin prick.
@c0string wow. you wen't from a civil person in your discription to a twelve year old who sounds like they have the IQ of about room temp.
By the way, MInnesotans aren't redneck. Most of us are able to see our toes. as for you fat fucks, you cant really see anything below you considering your fat is blocking your view.
That's a wonderful instrument and nicely voiced with a pitch and tone that brings our the forceful and the delicate in each of the keys which adds tremendous life to the piece. Not an easy piece of music to play but wonderful to listen to. Thank you for posting.
I call fake (as in c0string actually performed this). Check the video Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (Best Version Ever) uploaded by MovieMongerHZ. Exact in sound and performance and as commented by samiam1858 The name of the CD is 'Famous Organ Works' recorded in 1995. The organist is Miklos Spanyi.
@coanda4 No, I don't have any time, I'm an airline pilot, I'm lucky if I get to practice. Although my vacation is coming up and a CD might be a good idea.
Bravo ! You're so talented and a great performance playing this music on this large Church organ.Thumbs Up !!..Regards,Marc Jones..Los Angeles,U.S.A.(Australian vocalist-pop/jazz/originals)-Syd-Aus
@glennmach Very sweet, thank you, I get to play on the Wannamaker organ nowadays, for practice and performance, I live in Philly, such a good opportunity. Though with my flight schedule, I dont play as often as I want.
Wow, what talent. Carlo Curley said that sitting at a huge console (i.e. Wanamaker or Atlantic City) is referred aslike being in a flight cockpit, with hundereds of switches at your control. We have to get you over to the Atlantic City organ only if you promise to play the Toccata and Fugue in D Minor
WoW!!! How kool was that? That was amazing! You even sounded like you were having tooooo much fun playing it. Thanks and just keep it up, in the air that is:)

@Arkhantes Merci, comment entendez vous les lenteurs?
c0string 3 months ago

@VPCHD1000 uhh, English perhaps? Dutch, Francais, Italiano is fine too...

@VPCHD1000 Ma czegoś takiego jak "oryginał". Jest tylko jeden Toccata i fuga, rgistration zależy od organisty, ale zapis pozostaje ...

Thank you so much. Great piece of music, very nice performance, thank you.
What is the name of the church in Appleton and who built the organ?
I went to high school in Haarlem and grew up with tracker organs.
