  • This is crazy....I went down to my moms house last week and was looking through and old box and stumbled across this cassette single it was

    $3.99 from Peaches Records

  • That naughty naughty verse was a Treach and Naughty by Nature diss. That is the reason he wore the chain around his neck to make a diss @ Treach.

  • Treach bit dat chain off a group called Gangsta Armory when they opened up for him up in Allentown Pa. back in the day.

  • yeah when i opened this up i thought about that...i was like wow. i remember when he was beefin with treach. and took the shot at him in this jawn.

I found about the YZ in the movie "Above the rim"... It's a shame that they only played 2 east coast songs in the whole film. They played YZ's "The ghetto... (so far)" and Akinyele's "World wide"... Great song, great album, get it... you won't be disappointed ;)

  • Realhiphopsucks,

I appreciate your comment. It's always best to be true to how you feel. Some people like it organic others like yourself prefer it watered down. To each his own.

    YZ

  • HA HA YZ, in control of things one of the best singles ever, still bump it to this very day, Sons of the father and GBGTM classic albums. Overshadowed, yes, underappreciated by the masses, yes....Nevertheless still one of the best to the damn thing Shalom bruh

I appreciate the good word. It's incouraging to know that something that came from you is worthy of listeners.

    God bless

    YZ

  • Dam i miss the old shit. When it was all about skills, and the videos were nice and simple, i dont see any bling in this shit here. The beats were tight as fuck. What hiphop is missing now is jazz bigtime. Bring that shit back

  • Table Turns 77,

I appreciate the kind words of wisdom. I agree that it's time to set the record straight.

    God bless

    YZ

  • A couple years ago, on a serious digging binge in a city/town called LEIDEN, I picked up a CD called COLD WATER MUSIC by AIM for next to no euros at all....prbably would have left it laid there had I not noticed FEATURING YZ on two tracks. Turns out the rest of the CD's very good too but can you confirm that is you or is it someone that jacked your sobriquet?

    Whatd'yasay??

Thanks for your time and any eventual response is much appreciated...

    ILION

  • Ilion Carter,

It is me on the track. I also did a couple of joints with Rae & Christian on the same label "Grand Central" in Manchester UK.

    Thanks for looking out.

    God bless

    YZ

  • SOTF CD has become the new HOLY GRAIL for me but who knowz how long that will take....I'm sure I'll have fun digging tho.

Anywho this comment has quickly become inconsequential other than to let you know that you're fondly though of on this side of the pond and to ask you a quick question:

    (end of part 2)

  • Hey YZ

    Greetings from europe.

Just wanted to say I finally found GHETTO's BEEN GOOD TO ME on CD in AMSTERDAM after searching for nigh on a decade (won't buy on INTERNET, which would be easier) I picked up both SONS OF THE FATHER and GBGTM on cassette waaaaaaay back in the far away day but any tapedeck I have just chews everything up, so I had to move on with the times!! ;)

    (end of part 1)

  • Ilion Carter,

Thanks for looking out for you brother. I do appreciate it.

    God bless

    YZ

  • YZ, remember that track you did with the Bobby Mcferrin sample? Where was that sample from. I thought it was from that old Levis commercial in the 80's. Can you point me to it? Something Weather Report did maybe?

  • Peace,

What was the name of my song?

    YZ

  • I'm glad you enjoyed the track. That's a good look.

    God bless

    YZ

  • Did YZ ever make a video to 'Master Plan'?

    YZ

  • Can video for 'Master Plan' be found on youtube?

  • Peace brother, can you get dat classic "master plan".I miss your music and wisdom on the tracks.

  • It was my second coming so I wanted people to know how I was feeling about that and any body who tried to step in my way. I have jamaican roots as well as a few others. It was my idea to put Terminata in the chourus. He however just went on my vibe and came up with the chant.

There is no me and Treach. That's long over and not worth talking about.

    Thanks for the comments.

    God bless
