Not true that you can't land great hits in these packs. The card companies might have searched '67 packs for Mantle, Mays, Aaron, etc., and taken them out. But they would not have taken out the cards of then unknown players like Carlton, Seaver, Palmer, etc. So you can still find some good hits.

I have 900 of these packs! Seriously! Many with Mantle, and other stars, on top. I have 70- 1952 racks. Tons of stars and high series cards showing, and all appear near mint. Have a gorgeous '53 pack with Mantle and Ford on top---

I see those on eBay a lot. The '58 packs are usually like $70 or so. I actually collect from the '58 set.
