  • Tuck Andress just put four musicians out of a job.

  • One man band.

  • That is not possible, and even if it were, it wouldn't be fair!

  • Amazing.

  • wow!

  • The things that can be done with 6 wires and 2 hands (at least the 2 CORRECT hands)

  • Comment removed

  • This is from the DVD fingerstyle mastery

  • It took me five days to learn this

  • @lorenzoanzaldua2 what kind of tuning did he use here? i think it's not standard

  • @0507nix He uses drop D tuning and on the first three things in the piano section he uses his thumb in the bass

  • One of the best guitarists on the planet and Wikipedia doesn't even give him a page of his own.

He is a genius and ranks amongst one of the most innovative guitarist ever in my opinion.

  • @TheCompleteGuitarist Well you can create a wikipedia article for him :) get to it!

  • An amazing contribution to music. Proves that a guitar can be infinitaly explored. Just like hendrix did.

  • thats the most difficult looking guitar part I think I've ever seen....and it sounds like music..!!..amazing..

  • I pretty much see it the way it is. He's just extraordinarily creative about exploring the instrument. Add to that a very refined technique and execution. Tuck is a very original player, and a great one at that!

  • damn

  • O..kay, Imma try that

    (tries that)

Fuck this, I'm switcing to the kazoo!

  • Amazing !!!!! Wolf

  • this is awesome! what song is it?

  • I wish Tuck would stop embarrassing everyone...

  • thats not tuck andress, thats a spaceship

  • One word does it ---- AMAZING !!!!!!!!

  • hax

  • think youself a guitar player ........... well think again after that.

  • @amranthgokuslash this just needs a lot of practice its not impossible

  • welp, now that you watched that...just do it. simple lol

  • absurd. its like he has some kind of strange creatures inside the guitar with their own instruments. its witchcraft!

    thats amazing.

  • Tuck is the best....absolute genius...

  • I see it.....and I still don't believe it!!!

  • pls would u tell me whichtuck instructional book includes this demo....Thx.Alessandro

  • Great guitar playing in it's purest form!!!!!!!

  • WTF!

  • Tuck uses Bartolini picups. As usual he is awesome here.

  • Hi What kind of Pick ups are on the L5??? Bartolini? I cant see them real nice sound thanks so much

  • i wana learn how to play this thats soo cool

  • Talent aside - imagine the dedication. people like Tuck must be seriously driven.

  • i love this music! very happy and relaxing!

  • Just sick!!!

  • O.O Ken Here

  • whats the name of the song?

  • where's the horn section? , jeez could have made an effort...

    : P ,

  • +9 thumbs up,

That means that most people were able to pick up on the 'satire' of that comment.... I guess they left ya in the dark. Look up 'Satire' or even satirical in a dictionary. Then do us all a big favor and look up the word "disambiguation". (Gotta work that grey matter little fella) and why not, umm, jerk)

  • I did not watch this damn tuck andress video three weeks ago, it's many many months ago, and I cant remember leaving a comment here either...

  • @eric1love yeah or at least sing along with it a la Setzer...

    :P

  • @eric1love lmfao!

  • @eric1love Lol! Dude, he only has 4 fingers.

  • @eric1love He must have lost his kazoo.

  • @eric1love He must have lost his kazoo.

  • Yeah, that was really cool! I'm impressed, inspired, want to play what he just played, and i didn't see it coming!

  • This sucks when the video lags with the audio..

  • if i had only heard this and not seen it I would of thought he was looping the parts!

  • This lesson is from "Tuck Andress Fingerstyle Mastery" instructional video tape. Impressive as this is, it is but a taste of the altogether stupifying musicality of Tuck Andress' guitar skills.

  • And I thought I had seen everything...

  • galing!

    punta ka d2 sa pilipinas..

    puputulin ko kamay mo.

    hehe!

    husay!!!!!!!!!

    ilabyou dhasi lou!

    :D

  • wow

  • hey people.. I was wondering is this an original song of his or not and please give the name or the original artist 'cause I had this song in my head since the first time I watched this video.. Thanks

  • yes i was wondering the same thing!

  • He is just AMAZING!

  • So here i am...a few months after having seen this for the first time.

I'm still watching it over and over.

...and i still have no hope of playing that piano part!!!

I have more chances of impregnating Natalie Portman via telepathy than playing that piano part.

  • Do it. Impregnate the bitch.

  • @TLPnega Okay?!!! :)

  • get in there !!

  • such a great guitar-style. this is awsome!

  • Does ex.31 stand for exercise 31? And if so, wtf! Are there 63 fingered aliens learning to play the guitar here on Earth? Anyway, I'm off to do something simple now, like brain surgery and stuff...

  • i love it when i catch shrimp, fish, and oysters all in one throw

  • when he adds the guitar part, the finger doensn't match...and same happens when he adds the piano part

  • the video is out of sync

  • sorry to to tell you but I saw him play live and it still doesn't match up it looks like two different things happening at once

  • man,this out of sync sometimes...i swear

  • And still... is his ego keeping him from playing with other musicians? It's cool to be able to play like three people at the same time, but music isn't about being cool. He could be great like Jaco or Pat...

  • Could be great?

    COULD be great!?

Man, he IS great. And, I feel, one of the most humble fellows you'll find. It's not his ego keeping him from playing with other musicians- it's simple preference.

He prefers performing with his wife. Why should we stop him?

  • show us your video!

  • so predictable...

don't get me wrong, i love the man... and his wife hehe

he just has so much potential, but for some reason he keeps playing that teenage/college stuff. it's just ridiculous.

  • so why dont you accept his playing for what it is rather than reject it for being something you want it to be? you mean to tell me you saw this and thought "yeah, i saw that coming." ? You have the right to your opinion but i dont believe you for one second. if you want to hear joe pass then go listen to joe pass!

  • i was talking about your reply, it was predictable

    Miles, Coltrane, Corea = great

    Tuck = cool

  • ..and do you realize how hard it is to do this "college" stuff? and how hard it is to do this stuff live rather than being in your bedroom?

  • i hear you. but what does predictabilty have to do with anything. what i'm saying is if you can do better than share your music with the world! Miles, Coltrane, and Corea are great players, but that doesn't mean tuck is not. the stuff he does on guitar is extremely difficult to do. plus for the most part hes in a different genre than miles, trane, etc. its hard to compare them!

  • Thats true, that's why some music schools make up periodic recitals. They do it so you could get more use to playing in front of people.Playing for family, and freinds can help too. Does it mean that you will perfect the art of playing in front of an audiance? Maybe not ,but it might help. As we all should know, everybody is different.

  • good points, and i agree with everything you mentioned. if i understand what youre saying in bringing up music school recitals, i think quitefamous is referring to what tuck is playing as college stuff as a way of downplaying his ability, when he can't do it himself. the "art" of playing for an audience is definately that. someone said once that if you can play it in your bedroom you can play for an audience, but thats simply not always the case

  • btw thanks for bringing up intelligent points, and not making stupid comparisons between guys that hardly have anything to do with each other.

  • I've seen him perform live a couple of times. In one show he did a cover of "Get Away" by Earth Wind & Fire. That sh*t blew my mind.

  • damn.

  • damn!!!

  • !!!!!!!!ACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he's not human!

  • W0W , Zowy, WTF!

  • Whatta god damn animal.

  • There's also the fact that when he recorded this (and up until at least 2000) he considered himself a better pick player than fingerstylist.

    My brain just went ka-bloom.

  • ive seen it all.

  • I came.

  • what the F+@%

I think he has a brain for aech fingers

  • ......aaaaand my head just exploded.

  • was there any looping involved?

  • Nope...

  • Okay, I have been playing fingerstyle shit for 40 years now. That's just not possible! Even Stanley Jorden makes sense after you watch him up close. Now there are 2 guys where I am completely stumped. The other is Jeff Beck in the last 10 yearsl Around Guiar Shop he started playing thing I can't figure out.

Good thing for the rest of there a VERY FEW Tucks in the world.

  • krikey....it's another one of those "throw your guitar in the fireplace" moments..

  • he has like 5 invisible hands and 20 invisible fingers!!!

    this is amazing!!!!

  • f...insane! bet he never has any ego problems in his band? unless he fights with his hands lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, he doesn't have ego problemin the band...cuz he is the only one in the band! Seriously, his wife is a singer and they have a duo. I have two of their CD's

    -Arroyo-

  • LOL. No way. No ****ing way.

  • What a mess

  • This is brilliant demo, but bro you missed the BEST bit! Where it zooms back to him and he casually says ".....and yeah thats a pretty fun one and Id encourage you all to try it out" as if it were nothing!!!!

  • He's really talented. I'm not always into everything he does, but he seems so nice and down to earth, you just have to like him.

  • Anyone know what tuning he is using?

  • dropped d

  • DROP D

  • OMG!!! ONE MAN BAND... HE'S SOO GooD IF HE AlSo JOINED THE DRUMS HAHAHA LOL

  • I think everybody is different aye. I was brought up playing with an acoustic, so this type of technique comes to me naturally.

When I was going through some of the comments, people were putting themselves down saying that there shredding techniques suck.

But for me I find that difficult to do! I can't even play with a pick, and I suck on an electric.

So I think personally, that every guitarist (including everybody), is gifted and unique in there own way.

    PEACE everybody!

  • i tried this argh got the guitar part, but the piano...fuck!

he leaves out some of the bassline to be able to play the piano part though.

  • i saw him live

  • porca puttana a me Tuck mi fa morire!!!!! e un mostro!! ti fa venire voglia di prendere la chitarra e buttarla nel cesso per quanto e un animale... grande!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hes sick. I luv cheese.

  • why ddi you downrate me? is it only me that is annoyed of the syncronisation of the sound and hes playing, makes it tougher to learn!

  • incredible... really...

  • this guy is amazing..my music teacher told me bout tuck and i was like...wow..he's good...

  • wow... just amazing.. totally...

  • off sync

  • I liked it

  • i dont have a clue about geetars or n e thing. but this guy looks like the greatest guitar player ill ever see play!!!!

  • GANG!! who is tis fella.. n howcom i ain ever heard of him..??

  • that is so good it was makes me want to shout expletives!!! effing this and effing that!

  • damn and i thought i was hot stuff because i could sweep

  • A complete one man band. Well, Patti's in there, too!

  • This man completely owns. This is truly incredible.

  • how the hell?!?! This guy is not mortal!

  • Wow. Think I'll take my minor pentatonic scales and crawl under a rock.

  • I second that notion. Holy fuck.

  • hahaha that might be the funniest post on youtube.

  • OWNED

  • WOW.

  • Wow, crazy~ 5 sparkly things

  • I think Tuck's amazing ability to "multi-task" is much harder to learn than doing very fast shredding "single note" runs..I wish i can learn his technique. :I

  • Yeah, this is mindblowing, not only his two hands are independent from each other, the freaking fingers of his hand also seem to be!

  • and then hes explaining as well as hes doing all that!!!!

  • Yeah of course, but this style is also not practical in a full band setting IMO. Sure it's amazing and this man is a prodigy, but there's a reason why band's have multiple members. :)

  • wtf. . .

  • Get the tranquilizer gun - the bastid's done gone crazy....lol.

  • hahahaha ridiculous.
