@rjvsmb Yes, the bass payer is definitely in the pocket. Drummer very tight also. Like the very funky sound of the guitar. Brings back such sweet memories for me. Love this.
Martin Fry is an unsung genius. His music is a complete combination of pop and soul at an extremely sophisticated level........its brilliant and none as examoked as THE LOOK OF LOVE.
Saw them last xmas, they performed the Lexicon of Love (plus other hits) at the Sheffield City Hall in front of a 50 strong orchestra, best concert I've ever attended.
I keep figuring out how would be this guy singing "Always' Something There to Remind me" in the same version recorded by Naked Eyes Band (1983). I thik it would be fantastic.
Fabulous singer. I am happy to have lived the 80's and all its fantastic songs (Duran Duran, Spendau Ballet, Human League, the first years of Madonna, ...). This is one of my favourites from the 80's. Thaaaaaaaank you for posting.
Heard them doing the Albert Hall 'complete Lexicon of Love' gig on the radio a few months back and I stopped working (I am a taxi driver) and sat in stunned amazement at the brilliance of it...
Fantastic song and fantastic sound...very very good! Martin Fry is in wonderful condiction...very very good players. I'm happy to have lived that happy times...the eighties!!!
the song is the nutz but i think he may be miming!? unless the vid is out of sync slightly?? its hard to believe he can still sing this good!!? anyway its mad tune anyway!!
Damn hes still rockin it and does just as smooth as ever in the original key. Kinda like he never lost his touch even though obviously now he's a lot older. Martin Fry is awesome!
Ironically, there are a many honest talents today who either were not given a chance at stardom or were discovered, but their labels were dropped. Seems to me the commercial music industry has been corrupted by music not necessarily the entire world wants to listen to, but only to a selected group of fans. Wouldn't it be refreshing if musicians today could create music out in the market as good as this again?
as i said..when i heard poison arrow..i was probably 9 years old..the bass line to that changed my life..im 34 and been playing bass since 1985..i used to play the stringbass version for 15 story halo and ofcourse no one knew what i was playing..UK people had the whole musical world at thier feet in the 80s..for me in usa..i had to look for this stuff, since american top 40 was in abundance
you got the last name right about the sexiest guy on the planet, but the first name is wrong. Philip J. Fry
from FUTURAMA(the cute guy with the spiked, orange hair) is definently, defenintly the SEXIEST guy in the universe. he is so cute! I love him, love him, love him! MY Philip J. Fry!!!MY BOYFRIEND!!!(sorry,I just wanted to share that, but I love this song! the music video is stupid, but i like the music video version better. everyone should watch the music video)
Wow! Can't get over how awesome his voice still is! I loved this group. Lexicon of Love is an all time classic.
