I was 4 years old when these were on broadcast TV. I loved them. I was stone in love with Peter despite being little more than a toddler at the time. My kid is now 13 and we got these dvds on netflix. She ate them up. She absolutely loved them.

@ImJoeToo Same here. I was only about three when I fell in love with the Monkees. My first love was Davy. I've met both Peter and Davy and they are so sweet. My daughter is 12 and we also purchased the DVD set. We watch them all the time.

For all the hoopla back in the day about how the Monkees weren't 'real' musicians, I think their songs have stood the test of time very well. They are still VERY listenable, and there are a lot of kids (teenagers) nowdays who like the music and the TV show. I grew up with them, I still love them, and I hope they do make it into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!!!!

Davy Jones has always been my favorite teen idol. He was so good-looking, and I could care less that he's short. I also love his accent. I watched The Monkees back when it first aired, and I watched it because of him. I'll never forget when I read in a Tiger Beat magazine that he was married and had a little girl. I was probably about 9 or 10 years old, but I was devastated. I was so jealous of Maureen McCormick when she got to kiss him on The Brady Bunch. He is still handsome today.

This is easily one of the bounciest, uplifting songs ever written. I am so grateful the Monkees TV show is available on VHS/DVD. They had some thin plot lines, but they were very, very funny. My teenagers love it. The show was, and is, an emotional vacation from all the stress & nonsense in the news.  The music was excellent and the group members all were nice "eye candy". THANK YOU to everyone who made this show!
