He also mentions Sheol...an ancient Hebrew word meaning "abyss." It is used to mean something similar to Hell, or at least a dark place where the soul goes after death.

In many other songs he references literature, history, technology, and science. He talks conspiracy theories, philosophy, and life in general.

Actually, the lyrics to this song seem to be mirroring what actually happened in Victorian England too many times. The silver eyes were coins laid on the eyes of the dead, meant for Charon, the ferryman. It's telling a story, and a great one, IMHO.
