I know this story well, having researched it . I've written a song about it which I would love to invite everybody to listen to, called "The Treasure Legend of Neahkahnie Mountain" or, as people refer to it as "The Pirate Song." This place is so beautiful, I wasn't too surprized to find out there was an old Native Legend associated with it. Let me k now if you like my song or what you think.
wow i live in the coast range and we go to manzinia alot and i hought "wow that hill in the backround looks familiar, " and then it hit me that thats the beach we always go to every time!
I love this movie i saw it encore wow channel when i was sick a month or so ago and it was a really heartwarming movie i like how there was a little bit of romance between the boy and julie and i wish i could live in a place like their little town it is such a cute town and movie
I still have not seen this movie. But it is on order now. My kids are still mad at me for not putting my car in the Manzanita parade that year. I live in Rockaway.
talk about a small world, you may remember me from the mid valley video festival, I am the steadicam man. we talked for a while. I just moved with my wife and daughter to Tillamook! kind of funny and ironic or something. glad to see how well your film is doing in the festival circuit.
Wow! I never heard about this film. Is it available on DVD?? Tillamook and the Three Capes area are among my favorite places on earth!! Looks great! Thanks for posting this!
Karara Muhoro is his name. He is the African slave in the back story of the treasure. A wonderful guy and a good actor. He's from Kenya but served for a number of years in the US Army and teaches school on Los Angeles.
Looks like this is a good family movie. I enjoyed the little clip I saw. I wish it would hurry and get to the Coliseum Theater in Tillamook. Please some soon!
I might be in this movie!!! I live in the place that this movie was filmed at... The Neah-Kah-Nie treasure is what the movie "The Goonies" is based on... cool!
I caught this film at the Fantasy Worldwide International Film Festival in Toronto. It's a wonderful modern fairy-tale that's full of emotion and heart. This is a film that beautifully accomplishes that delicate dance of playing to families without pandering to them. Great cast, great story, beautiful photography and great puppets :-)
omg this was a great preview. i really want to go out to the movie theater right now and see it. I would totaly go with all my friends. This movie sounds like the perfect movie for my best friends birthday party when does it come out. I am soooo excited to see the full movie.
Definitely a family movie, with adventures, legends, humor and moving characters. It's also a story about family relationships. I recommend this film to all children 7 to 107 years old!
An engaging and multi-layered story. I've seen the movie several times and I highly recommend it. Take your kids and go see it. A fast-pace adventure, a spiritual journey, family drama, an excellent blend of all these narratives elements. The trailer is a perfect preview of what you are about to see. A great movie for everybody from 8 to 80.

Tillamook? This place is okay, not much to do but the holidays are fun here. Schools put on events, and Tillamook has gatherings, which can be fun.

Oh the Coliseum Theater....that does bring back memories. Haven't lived in Tillamook since 1974, but remember the old Coliseum well.

Glad to see a girl as the "hero". So few movies are made to show teenage girls with brains and guts! Way to go!
