the ref had definitely been spoken to before the fight. it should have ended in the first round as benn should have been counted out for that first knockdown. then afterwards when he steps in to break them up he gives benn at least 3 seconds to recover when he holds back mclelland. he breaks them up again in the round for no reason whatsoever (there was no holding) giving benn more time to recover. imagine the crowd reaction if it didnt go past the 1st round with all that hype..

1. Why get a unknown French ref when both fighters spoke English?
2. When Benn first went down, it took more than 10 seconds to get back in the ring.
3. There were many occasions where the match should have been stopped for both fighters.
This tragedy could have been prevented if the ref did his job right.

Such absurd comments from Mowlgieboy69 confirm he was probably educated in the jungle, as well as taking his name from there!! The clot was caused by the vicious right hands Mcclelland took for 10 rounds, not the so called headbutt. G Man won rounds 1 and 8, Benn the rest. Great fight, tragic result.
