I recently purchased a can of Zinser Shellac. I noticed that the "cutting chart" that was on the back of older cans was missing. The new cans state - DO NOT THIN. I tried contacting Zinser, but never got a response. I would think if all you are getting is a more diluted product, the price would come down - not the case. Every video I watch recommends cutting the Shellac with alcohol. Right now, its like brushing crazy glue on to your skin - dries incredibly fast . Any thoughts/comments?
Three to five days to dry? Really? I've always only waited about 24 hours. I tend to go for about 8-10 coats which gives me a decent film after sanding.
I really need to get myself some shellac wet, and some shellac flat (for carvings and such).
do you rub in between coats?

It dries pretty well in 24 hours, but full cure is 3-5 days.
