Holy shit bro. I also have a Type X but it looks like yours is 50 times louder than mine. I know part of the reason why is because I have a really shitty sealed box, but I also have pdx1.1000 pushing it and it doesn't seem very loud. Im thinking about buying a new box that 3.0 cubes at 35hz but I'm not sure if it would make much difference. I have a vid of my sub on my page if you wanna see. Can someone help me?

I tried to make mine a little more "high quality" instead of just a shaky camera making camera noise and filming how hard the mirror shakes. I got 2 alpine type Xs powered by a 4,000 watt amp... Forget the mirrors, my windshield shakes... He doesn't push that much power, thus he is able to preserve the sound quality

@SteveFrench306 No that's the correct idle RPM. Either you were reading the gauge wrong, or something was wrong with your truck. All 4.3L in the S10's and Blazers idled at 550-600 RPM when warm.

Thanks. I used wood putty to fill in the screw holes, and body filler to fill in the seams where the pieces of wood come together. After that my arm fell off from the amount of sanding I had to do, then I used a product called Slick Sand, it's a polyester primer that covers up all imperfections and also acts as a primer. Then I just threw on the red top coat.

Yeah I've been pretty picky with my mids lately, but I think I've finally come to a stopping point (for now).

The kicks are definitely worth while. Getting the speaker out of the door is the best thing you can do IMO. Once you do that there aren't 50 rattles coming from your cheap door panel anymore.

No worries. It's actually a little bit less than 1.6 cubes. During the last minute of the box build I decided to add 4 rods of dowel to the inside for bracing, so it's 1.6 cubes minus the volume of those 4 dowel rods.

Yeah it's 1.6 cubes alright. It's got an "accordion" style port, so it isn't an "L". The depth of the sub and my restricted height dimension didn't allow me to have the port go across the bottom side of the box because it would hit the magnet due to the width of the port.

Not at all. If you have too big of a box, you'll loose the "spring effect" that a box has on a subwoofer. You'll need to find that "perfect medium" that will appeal most to you.
