Hey Guys Whats up? I am working on doing a Digital Download MP3 release of me covering T.REX Children Of The Revolution, figured I would hang here and chat with other BOLAN fans, feel free to hit me up with a friend request or message.
I bought Electric Warrior in 1971 after I heard Jeepster on the radio. I've dated myself, but I never heard Ride a White Swan until today, 40 years later. And Marc Bolan is still a tremendous rock influence and glam idol. His lyrics were great his guitar work not so good, but good enough...R.ide a White Swan Marc!
i was two years old when marc died in 1977 when i was 25 i got into t rex and i did'nt know how good t rex were and marc was a genius i wish he was alive now i would love to have seen him in concert in 2011 he was truely gifted
i was a baby when this guy was about but he a true genius got his slider cd and tell u what it's my number one cd great interview but see how it scared him about 30 years time he knew his fate the music world and word lost a true god i say if he was still alive today he still have a big say on the music world !!! when i get to heaven i so hope he playing his tunes up there, to u mr bolan rip!!
went to visit the tree by the crash barrrier yesterday,a very peaceful and quiet place, among the other trees ,i sat down at the stairs listening to nothing else but the trees blowing in the wind and the birds singing.God bless his soul r.i.p.marc!
@SpinBuck1 that last bit was eerie he seemed scared n then someone shouted something from the audiance couldnt catch wot was said if you can hear it let us no.
Highly educated amazing poet amazing singer and he knew as per this interview amazing foresight into his demise, but although dead he will live on forever.
Wow, I've never heard him talk before so this was nice to see! I think it's so eerie how so many great musicians just know what is going to happen to them before it happens. So creepy.
@banger44 Maybe its easy to come out with that line, its been said a few times, i find it odd how someone can make a joke about anyone being killed in a car crash, regardless if you are a fan or not, for whatever reason marc bolan does create strong views, you proberly dont know alot about bolan, or even want to, but if you took the time you might understand.
Femme fatale's emerged from shadows to watch this creature fair....boys stood up on there chair's to make there point of view....He had a heart of gold...and he was a true star....he was magic and mystical i beleve in these things...Mark was the real thing...
he is not that known because he was a glam rocker. Many rock fans do not want to associate with glam rock because it is "too gay" for them. I adore Marc and the Children of the Revolution is amazing (I love Bowie too). Glam Rock 4ever!
Thank you so much for uploading this, I havent heard so much of him talking seriously like this, he was great. When he said "I don't think I'll live that long" I felt like crying.
"I dont think i'll live that long" OMG that sent chills down my spine when he said that ... If im honest i am quite supprised at how articulate Marc was and obviously very inteligent. I now see him as a modern day poet ... what a sad loss
He was one of the most intelligent men on the planet. Look at the way he takes charge of the interview - he is leading Harty and Harty doesn't even known it.
They say that people know when they are not long for this earth, The look on his face and his whole mood changed when he said that he won't live that long. Haunting. He was one in a billion!
Calling Hollywood: Should there be a motion picture about Marc Bolan? Absolutely! Maybe Elijah Wood can play him! He can use his Frodo persona to play Bolan. Speaking of Lord of the Rings, Bolan used a character, Peregrin, as nickname for his original partner, Steve Took. What irony!
NO! BBC London would do a much better job. As an American, I can tell you the Hollywood would just just totally blow verything out of proportion and lose sight of what a great performer he was.
a lot of glam rockers talk as if they know more than others spiritually... theres something more in marc though... it would have been fantastic to meet him, and just be in his presence
I always thought that Russell Harty was a terrible, awkward interviewer - a very poor relation to Parkinson. He did have some good moments though, like the time Grace Jones slapped him!
Never saw this interview with Mark Bolan though. Always did like Bolan's music, and how prophetic his last words were, eh?
Just read it & sounds interesting. One of the most iconic figures in UK pop history, it'll need some careful casting and direction to do Marc justice.
Been listening again this week to some of his stuff from 1968-70 where he produced some unique and wonderful music. Let's hope this period is given some attention in the forthcoming feature film.
He is my beautiful 20th cen.boy! He is frozen in time..can't see Jdepp doing him-too manly man. I think "the wizard' was the cause of losing him, there is always payback. I don't know anyone who can capture him--COMPLETELY unique. He was so androg., yet girls luv that! While all the boys were calling him gay--he was livin large with the ladies laughing!! We knew..he was the '2b's', brilliant and beautiful! my beautiful boy...I'd call him Jag-u-ar if I may be so bold. Pain and loss...
There are some strange coincidences surrounding the death of Marc Bolan. The spookiest being the opening line from his 1972 top 3 single "Solid Gold Easy Action".

most gorgeous pop star ever lived xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I Believe Marcs Magickal mission on this planet was completed and his untimely departure has carved his name deeply on the face of history, his vibrations have burned and shaped how we are today and sad as it seems he knew he was not long for this place, his spirit has got many millions of otherwise dull planets to TURN ON!!!!!!!!! We should be thankful for the brief but blinding light he shone into our dim and dingy existance. Bolan will forever keep on a rollin!
And so, we lost a beautiful man, talent and spirit. He knew long before he would not live very long. So much I've read where he indicates that. I hope he's still with us/those who miss him so much.
Marc's so nice and charming. He was probably very cool to hang out with!

T. Rex is such an incredibly popular band in underground punk and protopunk like Velvet Underground and that kind of stuff.

Prophetic last words indeed. as if he really did know. Wish you were with us for longer to see what magic you could create for us

And so, we lost a beautiful man, talent and spirit. He knew long before he would not live very long. So much I've read where he indicates that. I hope he's still with us/those who miss him so much.
