  • Is this the normal sound for this cars, cuz mine sound the same and am worried a little bit

  • That's clean. Btw these engines are suppose to sound like this.

  • @nyc35av sounds like a diesel engine , crapy sound

  • Der scheppert wie nen Sack Nüsse ^^

  • My grandpa has the same car. I love it

  • That is a healthy M30 sound.

  • If you spent as much time servicing it as you have cleaning it, it would not sound like a clapped out old diesel.....

  • the best e34, one of the best BMWs, 535i all the way!

  • adjust some cams mate ;)

  • thats the M30 sound, can't do anything about it unless you wanna dump alot of money into it.

P.S. you engine bay is SO clean !, holy sh!t, every wire and hose is new.

  • i just had this exact problem with my 535i it was 3 valves slightly too tight. they have to be perfect and done when the engine is hot

  • what if i do them engine being cold in the morning? just different clearances?

  • valves on these engines MUST be checked as 20K km ! did you check? they must be mesured and pulled. sorry dont well writing in ENGLISH

  • valves

  • valve check? maybe new lifters?

  • zawory stukają :)

  • No bad :)

  • Not that costly? Er, it depends on how rich you are.. For the sum you'd spend on a brand new cam shaft, you can easily buy another engine, used, of course. In addition, it's not even enough to replace the cam shaft to do away with that ticking noise. To manage that, you'd need to buy new rocker arms and have all valve guides restored pairing with new valves with thicker shaft...

  • Nope, that's the way M30 sounds, I just love the sound of the M30 valve rappin' :-D

  • hey guys check my other videos the same 535i(e34)after a valve ajustment is not problem with the clutch or something else the problem was the i never ajust the valve after i rebuilt the engine now sounds better thank you for the comments and God bless you

  • Very good idle, for a diesel :P. It sounds more like a gtd engine than a smooth bmw straight six petrol :(.

  • look my videos i drive a 535 too ;) greets

  • the ticking from under the rocker cover tells you the rate of wear of the whole cam system. badly, the old Bimmer engines with sizeable mileage suffer from that problem. the only cost-effective way to ease it is use of thick motoroil.that's the case. you can't even solve the problem by adjusting the right valve clearances either.

  • quite worn

  • Cool, love the paint work

  • very clean! sounds healthy too... good job

  • well that was the first time when i start it after this you have to adjust the valves again

  • damn, i just rebuilt my bmw e28 528i to 535i (engine from a 91 7 serries) and that ticks a bit... not as much as yurs tough, but do you think it is camshaft wear or is it just the fuel injection that ticks?

  • maybe ticks disappear when you press clutch?

  • hey whats up i like it

  • good good good

  • hey thats good man i had the same car and it is a good engine nice job

  • wow is very clean and sounds realy good how many miles ?
