  • i love this , it one of my favorite merry of chrisitmas

  • Doug Walker made me want to watch this.

  • Magnificent! It's a shame that nowadays, kids listen to the garbage on the radio and it is extremely rare to find a young person who's even heard of Tchaikovsky

  • If everyone had to watch Fantasia, the world would be a better place. Fact.

  • fantasiastic !!!!!

  • Magical!! Simply Magical even after all those years LOVE THIS!! Inspired me to draw fairies when i was a child....i never stopped!

  • I personally think that this is the most beautiful animation disney has ever done and probably ever will do! fantastic!

  • This is proof a story can be told with absolutely no words or dialog. Music is a language all on its own.

  • it's because of Fantasia i love to listen to classical music

  • Flat-Chested Faeries... @_@

  • omg, i miss this song :D

  • It was Gospodin Tchaikovsky himself who established the French transliteration of his name as the one used in English. That presents a problem in Spanish, because Spanish does not use either TCH or TSCH. If it did, Chad and Chile would be spelled Tchad and Tchile.

  • Isn't this song from The Nutcracker?

  • @CantStayAway Yes it is part of the Nutcracker suite by P I Tchaykovski. It is not a song, though.

  • This is so much better than the Tinkerbell movies!

  • aaah, childhood memories...(lol being nostagic even though im only 16 years old XD) i always liked the winter-part the best :D

  • If you like this and japanese animation, I really recommend checking out Princess Tutu. It's a European fairy tale with a Pixar-level story executed with Fantasia sensibilities.

  • i'm realy love this show, wonderful!

  • la genialidad de Disney es mas evidente en esta pieza de arte

  • Sound is much better at watch?v=rTLTyeGVdBg

  • resto estasiata quando guardo video così irreali.

  • LET,S DANCE!! WOW TALK ABOUT DEJAVU..YOU CAN,T HELP YOURSELF..1000S OF CHILDREN MUST HAVE SEEN THIS..AND THANKS TO TECHNOLOGY 1000S MORE WILL GET TO SEE THIS MASTERPIECE WHAT A JOYFUL THOUGHT!!..BG..

  • I think this was my favorite segiment out of the entire movie. Don't get me wrong though, the movie was amazing all on its own. But I always adored this part with the faeries.

  • this is what made me fall in love with the nutcracker. love this music and all of fantasia for that matter.

  • Disney really knew their stuff back in 1940.... what happened? I mean... Hannah Montana? How can that compare?

  • @squirrelgirl301 because back then walt disney was still alive.

  • @squirrelgirl301 Yeah they were great, but then you had the more-than-obvious racism in Dumbo (the crows), Song of the South (the guy singing Zip-a-dee-Doo-Dah is a white man in black face with a felt beard), and the whole "Disney loves Nazis" thing. Not to mention that the first black heroine has to be a frog for 75% of her movie...sure, the animators were a lot more talented, but they didn't have special effects and pre-teen tits to fall back on.

  • @squirrelgirl301 - Animation was an "adult" medium in those days. I think animation turned into something for children right around the time television appeared. Damn shame, really....

  • I remember watching Fantasia for teh first time at my grandparents house at the age of 6, and remember that the moment this part came on screen, THAT was the very moment I began to love classical music.

  • Its hard to believe back in 1940 this failed at the box office and today it's so much more appreciated. Love this scene thanks for posting!

  • WANT TO DANCE!!! =D

  • They don't make this kind of stuff any more. :( But there some pretty good Japanese anime that are art-like, but not cunning like this.

  • my favorite part of the film!

  • the white flowers falling to the ground look like they were made by computer... it's hard to believe everything was hand-drawn... just amazing!!!

  • simply put, that's art at its best!!

  • Walt Disney is a true visionary!

  • That's the kind of things I would like my child to watch... Not all of this modern japanese crap....

  • @stellasavon

Japanese "crap" is also an art form.

So you want your child discriminating art?

  • This is SO good and made with so much love for Mother Nature around us. Let's learn to keep love, cherish and TAKE CARE of it :) ♥

  • @ArtyThera god bless!!!!

  • The fairies in Fantasia's version of The Nutcracker Suite are probably the prettiest ones ever animated.

  • I remember! This movie made me never eat snowflakes again... I was too afraid that I was eating fairies. D:

  • Water actually looks like 3:20 when it freezes. Science is also beautiful.

  • this is one of the best songs to dance with your love!!!!

  • i love the nutcracker music it is awesome

  • Amazing and Beauty

  • disney have released this from the (vault) in uk on blue-ray,gonna get it before it goes back in for 10 years.

  • @mackinl And does it ever look gorgeous on blu-ray! This movie is one of the reasons to have a BVD player.

  • Fantasia > hanna montana, Disney.

  • Los pelos de punta siempre que la escucho... La mejor pelicula de Disney sin duda!

  • Who doesn't love Chaikovskji, the Master of Great Tunes?

  • Watching Fantasia introduced me to classical music :)!

  • my fav parts of this segment are the fairies, the mushrooms, and the thistles

  • this was mind blowing animation for it's time... still pretty amazing

  • i like the firebird the best.but this is good.it so magical! i know disney lost most of that and now show hannah montana and wizards of waverly place but i think the 2 show i mentioned is way better than the first

  • You can imagine how otherworldly this part seemed for someone who grew up in a country without seasons...

  • Magical. Too bad Disney's lost its magic now :(

  • i love this one

  • i can play it on the piano

  • Beautiful.

  • this song is so classic

  • I LOVE this song so much.

  • this one brings memories since this thing somehow came every christmas.....

how i miss the days when disney had GOOD music in their movies and cartoons....

  • This makes my heart beat faster every time I listen to it. I can never get enough of the creativity of Disney in those days

  • what a wonderful piece of music :)

  • A 70-year old movie classic............wow!!

  • Such a lovely video.......!

  • fine art in every possible form.... to be watched AND heard .... can it get any better? and yet so many have forgotten how to appreciate it :-( ..... sick and sad

  • I always loved the part where they skate on the lake, I think that's probably one of my strongest memories from when I was little.

  • I see this in Very Merry Christmas Songs.

  • Ah, lovely little sprites spreading the golden onset of winter's slow, cold, creeping death. The world is beautiful. :)

  • What did happen with the cartoon movies? :(

  • They became crappy, sadly. :( Now the world relies on crap such as Hannah Montana, Jonas Brothers, etc. =/

  • Pixar would like a word with you. As would the entire cast and crew of The Princess and the Frog. And the artistic community as a whole.

What do Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers have to do with Animation, aside from crappy Disney song remixes that no one listens to?

You are older now. Just because you notice what kids like now doesn't mean the old stuff is dead.

  • @OhMySong And Phineas and Ferb. Which (I don't care that it's won Emmys before) is frankly, crap. Seriously. You don't need to be an art genius to mimuc the "art" in it -_-

  • ...What? I don't really understand you.

If it won an Emmy, there has to be something there that you aren't seeing. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it's crap.

And even so, this stuff has nothing to do with any other Disney thing, other than the fact that they were produced by Disney. They are created by different people and groups. Disney needs to make money, and they still produce good things. Not all of their old stuff was good, you know. Take off the nostalgia goggles.

  • They went down the pisser with your grammar.

  • 3:14

  • I love all of Fantasia, but after watching it over and over for so many years, I can honestly say that the Nutcracker Suite animation is the most beautiful in the movie. There isn't one holiday reference in the whole movie, yet the animation is in perfect harmony with the music. It couldn't be any better.

  • Some of the loveliest images in "Fantasia-" and all from old-fashioned cel animation. The concept of magic pixies doling out the changing seasons is genius. The changeover from autumn to winter (with the ice-skating fairies) is breathtaking

  • la pelicula perfecta

  • I like the snowflakes at the end of the video.

  • Tchaikovsky was such a genius...and so unappreciated during his lifetime.

Thankfully Disney was able to bring his music to a whole new generation and audience!

  • beautiful animations and music! I love this!

  • Disney will never come to those golden times again.Cause now they just want to know bout the teenagers shits that they put on air...

    SUCK ME HSM!

  • I love this I do also hate the retarded shows like jonas I mean really that is the worst show ever! They ned more creativity...

  • one of the best movies Disney ever made.. too bad the disney channel is filled with so meny stupid shows now adays.

  • I know! It makes me wonder what went wrong! High School Musical makes me nauseous!

  • @Lancethereaper12 Yeah, I wish they would put some of the old Disney cartoons on with Mickey Mouse and company, and great old movies like this one.

  • @HotCheetoVideos in truth in my eyes, disney just isen't disney anymore. without the mouse there is no disney and they've praticly kicked him off the air :(

  • @Lancethereaper12 Yeah, I agree. I even remember back when the Disney Channel had the old cartoons and movies on...it makes me wonder if Disney has totally forgotten about them...

  • @HotCheetoVideos its just gone to teh dogs like hanna montaina and freaking highschool musical. its just not itself anymore. I remember waking up and watching the little mermaid and morning cartoons like that. its just fallen apart.

  • @Lancethereaper12 I remember the Little Mermaid cartoon, and Timon and Pumba as well.

  • @HotCheetoVideos I remember those too!

  • @Lancethereaper12 I remember watching that stuff when I was little I was only about 8 when it began to dissapper around 2000

  • @Lancethereaper12

yep your right ... nothing is as it was .... i enjoyed these; thanks to all those who have posted them .. NOW anyone know how to get a DVD of Fantasia ?

  • @btrflygal1 ebay

  • @Lancethereaper12 yeah i agree...it isnt disney anymore its just a coporation now...they arent interested in their product just their income

  • @Lancethereaper12 I couldn't agree with you more.

  • @Lancethereaper12 wouldn't it be awesome to have a channel set aside for just showing classic disney movies like Fantasia and Beauty and the Beast? It be like a never ending movie marathon of good disney movies!

  • @Lancethereaper12 They should make another Fantasia

  • @TheFlyingFoodTester they did it was awful its called fantasia 2000

  • @1moeser Oh come on, I actually like it

  • I remember watching this when I was a little girl. It's too bad the Disney channel doesn't show these classic animations now. It would be nice if the new generations saw them. This was and still is one of my favorite Disney pieces!

  • @SecureLove This was not composed by Disney. It was composed by Tchaikovsky.

  • @SecureLove what's the point of calling it Disney channel if they don't show Disney movies?

  • its song is perfect for this time in the year,

they leaves are falling over here in MA

  • Only the most beautiful piece of animation ever. And remember, this was all hand work - no computer graphics.

  • Amo este video

  • Whenever I watched this part, I'd get on socks and slide around on the linoleum floor. :D

  • @momoandmiz: Did you ever do the afgan skirt around the waist and twirl?

  • @momoandmiz Haha me too !!!

  • My favorite segment in Fantasia! Very beautiful!

  • one of Disney's best works. : )

I want to be an autumn fairy. : DDD

  • omg i love this music. brings back memories as dew drop in thte nutcracker

  • This gives me the chills and makes me cry everytime. I've loved this since I was like four.

    Disney, bravisimo!

  • Disney just forgot how to make good things like this... today it's only about the stupid high musical stuff.

  • Well, some people grew up watching this, like me, and have seen the beautiful animation and such, while other unfortunate people have grown up listening to music aimed to get children to enjoy whatever society throws at them. I feel so bad for those guys who like High School Musical.

  • Lovely film!

  • love this this-haven't seen this since I was 5 or 6

  • O man, this is one of the best pieces of the film Fantasia, a work of genius!

  • oh my god i havent seen this sinc ei was like 6 but i remember all of this

  • es una pieza musical que me pone la piel de gallina y los pelos de punta, será que la música clásica me sensibiliza mucho :)

  • What an absolutely delightful piece of music!

  • I agree! Fantasia and Dumbo are the two best Disney movies ever!

  • Dumbo always made me cry. Loved it though.

  • Disney's Very Merry Christmas Songs - Joy to the World Jiminy Cricket's Christmas DTV The Andrews Sisters - Winter Wonderland
