although Susanna Hoffs carries the distinctive vocals of The Bangles (and i love her voice), my two favourite songs of theirs are when two other members of the band take to lead vocals: 'Be With You' and 'Following'.

Watch Suz's eyes at 2:35. . . I saw them live at a little club in Ft Worth, TX in 2000 or 01, when they first reunited. They were wonderful, fun and laid back and great with the crowd. And she still did that thing with her eyes while singing!

I think this is the last time Susanna Hoffs tried to belt that "flame" note at the end. From this point on they changed the melody so she now goes lower rather than singing the climax of the song! It's a shame- if she could do it once in the studio, she can do it again. It's the amazing note that everyone is waiting to hear and she cops out!

danielaelmi, they performed on several awards shows in 87. I remember off hand the "VMA's" (video music awards) hosted by Casey Casem. They performed "walking down your st" and also won an award. I remember some international music awards show they did that year too.Run DMC introduced them and they sang an awesome live version of "walk like an Egyptian" where at the end, they literally played themselves off the stage. That was cool.

I wonder if the foldback (the playback of their own voice that the singer hears) was too low, as often this means the singer ends up singing louder to hear themselves. That might be why she was belting out where she doesn't normally.
