Arma II gameplay - AHZ-1 Cobra attack helicopter vs T72's

It's easy hitting shit with missiles but what about guns? On manual fire the crosshair stays ion the middle of the screen, which makes it almost impossible to target a unit due to the helicopter's movement. You're either going to fast or too slow or overcompensating left and right. They should have targeting system on the guns for the pilot.

close, the simulation for the army is called VBS2. engine and so on from arma. those guys know how to do something right, and when you look at arma, they do a awesome work! but i think they release their games to early, much bugs after every launch... but after a few fixes, the games running great!

in arma2 if a heli gets hit does it just blow up or can it crash and mabey survive

it can crash and survive, like if the tail rotor is hit it will turn and it will be hard to land, or if your fuel tank is shot your fuel will be out real fast and it will be really difficult to land it. Or it will burn in the air and only thing left to do is jump out.

ah, Well, I saw in your video you didn't reacted a lot when you (probably) eard bullets hitting you in youe cokpit.. I suggest you to pilot an helicopter like an aircraft.. Meaning you go fast, you strike, then you go away, then you go back, This will avoid being shot.. :D

That's not how to use a helo, you stay down, out of sight behind the trees, bob up, look, bob down, bob up, shoot, bob down, move away, rinse and repeat. NEVER overfly the target, that would get you blown to hell.

I never tried to fly at easy dificulty, but when I deactivates the.. the.. the.. omfg I don't remember the name lol when you deactivates the thing that helps you landing, it gets pretty hard for a novice. Well, Flying in ARMA 2 is definitly easier than in real life, still I appreciate the commands. no its not "so easy" to drive a heli in arma.Well... I never had any problems and I barely crashed on trees (3 crashes in 5 days).. We could say its easy to fly, its just about *skills*..

They talk odd as they are really talking the computer Ai strings together recorded speech from a massive list and strings it together so it will sound odd but it allows the Ai to tell you whats going on and where only other way would be to have whole sentences recorded limiting the Ai comunication to that of COD 4

I wouldn't upgrade cheap if I were you. Games like Crysis 2 and more upcoming games will have stunning graphics. If your motherboard is compatible with an HD 4870 Diamond, I would suggest that since its the most powerful graphics card on the market. I personally own this one as well and I can run every game on ultra high at maximum resolution with great frame rates.

With manual fire you cannot aim the 30mm gun other than to allign the whole helicopter with the target, which sucks. You got some disadvantage shooting rockets aswell because you don't have the same viewdistance (rotating turret IR). I'd say a gunner is still valuable in combat :D

I haven't flown a cobra, but i know that on a Huey, the hydras and the minigun can be a bitch to use in manual fire sometimes
