So ref Ed Hochuli messed up big time during Sunday's Denver - San Diego game. His mistake cost San Diego the game. Even though it's a regular season NFL game, it's still on a grander scale than a high school hockey game.

This doesn't prove anything except that refs miss calls. Think about how many times refs have blown calls during a college or professional game. They don't turn around and give the other team the game or win because of a missed call.

As for the extra man on the ice. The game was stopped and the officials had a long talk about it and they made the decision they made. It was a change up of the line that created the extra player and it had no significance on the goal.

The NHL uses 2 refs, 2 linesmen, 2 goal judges, instant replay and they still miss calls. Yes, these refs did miss the call, and it will haunt them for a long time, but get over it. Its hockey people, not every call is going your way. Just know, You guys are lucky to have hockey in your schools. Out here in California, hockey is not a high school sport. I bet not one person who posted here has ever reffed a hockey game in their life. Its a hard game to ref, shit happens fast.

There is no such thing as "should have won." When two evenly matched teams play, one plays better. These two teams played 4 times total this season. RR won and then GPR won in the regular season. Same thing in the playoffs. The team that played better won.
first off, I agree that Red River didn't play the greatest game but the fact that Grafton scored when they had six men on the ice and the sixth man scored the teing goal is bullshit. I'm over it I just wanted to say another, Grafton didn't get one penalty the whole game. I'm no just saying that but there has to be something in there.

Calls where missed both ways (as they always are). Grafton got it done in OT and Red River did not. Therefore, the Grafton-Park River Spoilers are the 2008 State Champions. No amount of immature whining, denial, or name calling will change this reality. SOME Red River fans needs to grow up and learn how to lose with some level of grace and dignity. The behavior of some RR fans (garbage throwing, whining, scape-goating, name calling etc...) is an embarrassment to their school.
I have news that should be obvious to anybody with any knowledge of hockey whatsoever. Calls are missed consistently in EVERY hockey game. Therefore, the notion that missed calls somehow make the outcome of a game illegitimate is ridiculous. Using this flawed logic, no game every played in the history of hockey would be legitimate. There was a missed off-sides and a missed penalty against Red River just before RR scored one of their goals. Does this make that goal illegitimate? Of course not.
We did get screwed over...in 06. Over something much more blatant, obvious, and undeniably wrong that it's a wonder to me today how there was no penalty called. The announcers braodcasting the game were baffled. You all heard Kringstad after the game. It was total BS. So, we did get screwd once, but we didn't post on youtube and constantly complain about it. Shut up already. Due to 06, the 08 game ended fair and square. Replaying a play and then issuing a penalty is the most retarded idea ever.

The BIG difference between the two missed calls (2006 & 2008) and the questionable call (2007)is one can argue GPR more than likely lost because of the action or inaction of the official(s). However, it's a stretch to say RR lost due to the refs missing that call as they still had plenty of time to win the game. End of story.
I remember when RR scored the overtime goal in the 2006 state tournament. Somehow the officials missed a Red River player on top of the GPR goalie. Red River won and went on to the state championship.
I also remember during last year's GPR - South game where an official made a questionable call against a GPR player with about a minute left in the game. South ended up scoring with 6 seconds left in regulation and went on to the state championship game.

LOL! If only RR could dominate in an 18 team basketball league like it does in a weak 18 team hockey league.
There are over 120 teams in class B basketball some of which could compete against weaker class A schools (i.e. Red River). There are 18 Class A basketball teams. Red River has managed to win ONE class A basketball championship, which is pathetic!!!

As for the extra man on the ice. The game was stopped and the officials had a long talk about it and they made the decision they made. It was a change up of the line that created the extra player and it had no significance on the goal.
So get over it already. How about the RR guys trying to break into the Grafton school to steel the trophy. What a joke.

I'm from Grand Forks, Red River fan myself. I knew about the whole plan and they were going to take the trophy, replace it with a picture of 6 men on the ice, and bury the trophy. I dont know about you but that is awesome and takes real balls.

If anybody knows anything about HS hockey history in this state, ND hockey culture, or hockey in general they should laugh at any GF team complaining about a hockey game they lost? GFRR was clearly offsides for thier second goal. The GF media act as if this is a huge injustice and that a call has never been missed before! Ridiculous. GPR gets screwed over in the semifinals in 2006 against Red River and was there a media outcry then? No. Get over yourself GF, what a bunch of hypocrites.

The NHL uses 2 refs, 2 linesmen, 2 goal judges, instant replay and they still miss calls. Yes, these refs did miss the call, and it will haunt them for a long time, but get over it. Its hockey people, not every call is going your way. Just know, You guys are lucky to have hockey in your schools. Out here in California, hockey is not a high school sport. I bet not one person who posted here has ever reffed a hockey game in their life. Its a hard game to ref, shit happens fast.

There is no such thing as "should have won." When two evenly matched teams play, one plays better. These two teams played 4 times total this season. RR won and then GPR won in the regular season. Same thing in the playoffs. The team that played better won.

first off, I agree that Red River didn't play the greatest game but the fact that Grafton scored when they had six men on the ice and the sixth man scored the teing goal is bullshit. I'm over it I just wanted to say another, Grafton didn't get one penalty the whole game. I'm no just saying that but there has to be something in there.

I do agree with the fact that if Red River is so great and 'deserved to win' they had 3 OT periods to do the job, and Grafton outplayed them the entire game I thought (I'm normally a bigger RR fan than GPR) and I've been going to the state tournament for about 10 years. People get screwed over, it's life. Stop bitching and get ready for next year.

Calls where missed both ways (as they always are). Grafton got it done in OT and Red River did not. Therefore, the Grafton-Park River Spoilers are the 2008 State Champions. No amount of immature whining, denial, or name calling will change this reality. SOME Red River fans needs to grow up and learn how to lose with some level of grace and dignity. The behavior of some RR fans (garbage throwing, whining, scape-goating, name calling etc...) is an embarrassment to their school.

I have news that should be obvious to anybody with any knowledge of hockey whatsoever. Calls are missed consistently in EVERY hockey game. Therefore, the notion that missed calls somehow make the outcome of a game illegitimate is ridiculous. Using this flawed logic, no game every played in the history of hockey would be legitimate. There was a missed off-sides and a missed penalty against Red River just before RR scored one of their goals. Does this make that goal illegitimate? Of course not.

We did get screwed over...in 06. Over something much more blatant, obvious, and undeniably wrong that it's a wonder to me today how there was no penalty called. The announcers braodcasting the game were baffled. You all heard Kringstad after the game. It was total BS. So, we did get screwd once, but we didn't post on youtube and constantly complain about it. Shut up already. Due to 06, the 08 game ended fair and square. Replaying a play and then issuing a penalty is the most retarded idea ever.

The BIG difference between the two missed calls (2006 & 2008) and the questionable call (2007)is one can argue GPR more than likely lost because of the action or inaction of the official(s). However, it's a stretch to say RR lost due to the refs missing that call as they still had plenty of time to win the game. End of story.

I remember when RR scored the overtime goal in the 2006 state tournament. Somehow the officials missed a Red River player on top of the GPR goalie. Red River won and went on to the state championship.
I also remember during last year's GPR - South game where an official made a questionable call against a GPR player with about a minute left in the game. South ended up scoring with 6 seconds left in regulation and went on to the state championship game.

Replay people? There is no way in hell that officials should be able to review a play and then issue a penalty that they missed. No Way. I mean, come on, anybody watch the Super Bowl when they did that. It's just unfair. I understand reviewing calls and then changing them, but not reviewing plays and then issuing a penalty. That's stuid. It should never happen, and it's a shame it might.

I won't go so far as to say that GPR cheated, because I doubt it was intentional. But that goal definately should not have counted. I don't know how the officials missed a third defender on the blue line. ND should allow replay for goals in the state tournament like MN does.

Did you watch the 2006 game? If so, watch it again because you obviously missed the penalty too. If you didn't see it, watch and you will see RR got away with one and it was huge because it GPR the game as the goal was scored in overtime..

However, if the team that lost had of played better in the game at some point ( I bet you can find a number of things they could have done differently)they wouldn't have put the game in the hands of the refs. Furthermore, the coach cheated? That may be the dumbest comment I have ever read. There is not one hockey coach on the planet who would deliberately do that. Horrible call, worse posts.
