What a dumb comment!Panzir-S1 is newest of short-mid range AA systems that has everything different and improved from Kashtan.It has much longer range of effectiveness than Kashtan in both radar and missiles.It can carry 12 missiles while Kashtan only 8.Range of the missiles is up to 20km while Kashtan only up to 8km.Guns are 30mm but of different design.Reaction time is also much better in Panzir by 2-4 sec.

@KalugaDON Сейчас взялись за нее, еще 3 года назад все было на примерно на 60% хуже. Больше заказов внутри страны, так как долги раздаются, несмотря на все усилия их затянуть со стороны. Открыто множество новых НИОКР, в основном правда не того, что показывают на Площади, а того, что еще долго никому не покажут, в Северодвинске 3 (+?) крупных контракта осенью подписали, АПЛ. "Булаву" вроде запилили (или доделают в ближайшее время) надо отдать за это должное, РВСН это самое главное сейчас.

@Ikn0wJack Actually there is a set of number commands, to target, marking, re-target, update traking manually, set a sequence of executable commands, and so on, but in general youre right. This stuff is as simple as it should be to be able to take down other stuff.

You would have to put a lot of armour on the joints, it would have a high centre of gravity, and it would have less armour/weight than a main battle tank.

Not to mention it couldn't carry high payloads because it wouldn't handle recoil well.

@bf2lover42 tanks is for open fields in city tanks are absolete. Walker or armored exoskeletons will do the same job but with less casulties. When you have mobility and accuracy you dont need heavy payload. Think simple....

@Geroskop I know the Big Dog. Honestly, it's a great concept. But it's not a "tank replacement" concept. It would make a great automated combatant in forests, urban terrain, snow... But it shouldn't be developed into an armored unit.

On YouTube are too many optimistic weapon commercials of weapon companies and trashy heavy-metal videos of driving by tanks (made by 14 year old boys)...that call themselves often "documentary " or "comparison".
