Hi,

Do you know why your Arbiter was doing that weird ossilation werrrweerrru sound? I have a couple old Arbiter england. One that I just got recently did that weird ossilation thing. I know the fuzz pot was bad and it has not happened again at least not yet. Do you think yours is doing that because of the wire's being to close? Does your do that often? Thanks hope to hear back from you. Cool vids and nice fuzz's.

@phatsound1 The battery bypass electrolytic capacitor has gone bad. You could parallel another and see if it goes away.

If you want a germanium fuzz - buy one.

If you want a silicon fuzz - buy one (Analogman makes a good silicon version as well)

In both cases: turn up your amp!!!

The best idea is to build your own fuzz face, it´s a really simple circuit. Those NKT275 trannies are really good, but you don´t need them. Even if you buy many different trannies, caps and resistors to do thome experimentation, you won´t have to spend more than 30$.

THACONCH is right, a FF works best into a cranked tube amp. Into a clean amp or at low volumes they sound, well, like your demo. The Sun Face is an amazing FF clone. I love it.

Yo, try cranking the amp to some good response levels (basically where the speakers are breaking up) and set the output/volume levels from the fuzz pedals just a tad bit higher than your clean sound. The amp will bring out a lot of that fuzz for you and make the strings sing right through the pedal(s) itself. This will more over add a bunch of fuzz to your tone rather than play the fuzz itself. Sweeeeeet pedals by the way. Is there a wammy pedal in the background?
