Oh, god forbid people experience euphoria on the internet lol. What a load of crap. This is just a bunch of old timers shaking their fist at technology and blaming their lack of parenting skills on the internet.
WHO CARES!! At least internet life isn't as bad as real life. On the internet shy people can be open then in real life where they almost die of embarrasement!!
Wait so... they say that internet addiction is terrible, then they turn around and make a segment on how: if you play enough games, you could become an "e-athlete" and make a lot of money...
Everything is relying on computers, internet, etc. I mean I use it but I dont become antisocial with my family and friends theirs way more important things out there like a job but some people do take it overboard I guess.
Everyone at CBS is either dumb, or just wants to scare mainstream America?
Kids have always been lying, droppping out of sports, not getting enough sleep, and not hanging out with friends. These things are nothing new, it's called adolescence. There hasn't always been an Internet though, they used to blame these things on drugs when I was growing up.
It seems like CBS is just trying to campaign for "Internet2.0" with all these anti-Internet stories.
You're right and also it's all about how to get the tax, this time the internet as well as soda drinks, etc. In the eyes of liberal majority media popular things that people should be taxed. Also they are scared shitless that the way how news is covered is changing from watching the news on TV to internet either from websites, or to blogging, twittering, or any other form of social media simply because it's the fastest way to get up-to-date now days. The times are changing.
""""""your successful because of you but because you do drugs that makes you the bottom feeding scum of the earth low life nobody youve become inside of yourself...""""""" see im not taking your success away from you you fucking shithead.
Everyone is addicted(obsessed) with something! If they weren't, according to these numbers, 90% of Americans would be vegetables. I'd prefer to be addicted to computers over living in a cave with nothing to do but hunt and sleep, thank you. Grow the hell up and face the winds of change. We are moving forward, and the future looks very bright, as well as transparent.
Internet addiction nearly killed me. It made me depressed and I tried to end my life. Since getting better, I've met a lot of people that suffer or have suffered from it. It is extremely real and extremely dangerous.
id prefer to have a fulfilled life with being able to interact with other people and live a full life than sit in my room all day living a fake life on the internet.
addiction of anything doesnt make life worth living. it does the exact opposite.
because if a kid is like spended more than 5hrs at a time on the computer, then somethings wrong with the children. the addiction for a kid should be blamed on the parents no?
Between ARGs, message boards, and YouTube--all things that involve heavy social interaction--I spend several (usually about two) hours a day on the internet. However, I also stay involved in a rigorous curriculum at school, play tennis, participate in band, and do other extra-currics.
I think the appeal of the Web lies in the fact that it allows us to be CONNECTED to others. After all, nothing is more interesting to people than other people.
