  • please re-upload so I can listen to the whole song.

What a great, great song when Jack does it......Best version of all!!!!

    A true music PURIST!

  • I like Jack White, but I suppose this video was always going to be disappointed if I just came from Jimi Hendrix's Monterey version of this song.

  • Oh Jack White plays Killing Floor?

  • Jimi Hendrix is my favorite guitarist of all time, but Jack White is my second favorite guitarist of all time!

  • This would be sweet if Meg had ever learned to play drums.

  • wakala

  • someone put up the rest of this song, coz i want to know what they were about to go into after 'killing floor'

  • i love when he`s tuning guitar during playing song ;]

  • listen this song from jimi hendrix and die happy....

  • Don't forget about Zeppelins version.

  • Nothing better than an out of tune guitar. Oh yeah there is, one that's in tune.

  • Jimi did it better.

  • @iLoveCombatVets nah :)

  • @iLoveCombatVets agree

  • Jack White just made me realize that well-tuned guitars are way overrated.

  • @DocteurChouette Semi tuned is nice though;)

  • It doesn't get any better than this. (Just kidding... it gets a helluva lot better than this.)

  • this is way to silly-i go back to Jimi-good bye

  • this is great

  • he has a Robert Plant sound about him. Good though................

  • DOES ANYONE know how to play this song on guitar???

911 tabs and co don't show any result.

  • You're a genius when you can rock out to tuning your guitar...

  • That's how I told em to do it!

  • @sawboss17 you wouldn't even clean Jack's boots, lol.

  • jack is one of the best musicians of our time

  • @thebignomnomface THE best. THE BEST.

  • @thebignomnomface Yea OUR time and only OUR time but not of ALL time

  • gives me chills haha

  • this musician needs to step down a noch until they mature a bit..

  • @thebp9999 why?

What truly inspiring musician is mature

  • howlin wolf jack n meg your not even qualified to play howlin wolf fuck off

  • @IAIN19760 and u are... because im sure you have 3 platinum records and 3 more original vinyl LP's....

    what? u dont? then stfu

  • @MuddyMojoRisin ehhhh you too man

  • they stole this from killing floor the game by steam

  • BALL AND BISCUIT ,READ IT!

  • not even close to hendrix

  • This is a cover of the Howlin Wolf song, not the Skip James song

  • Jack Jerks That Guitar OFF

  • Thumbs up if your listening to this while playing Killing Floor.

  • I think this is improv all the way, he starts in the second verse and sings it wrong. ;)

Great tho, I have the hole concert and this bit is my favorit part.

  • This is some rehashed Robert Plant sound alike shit the drummer can't keep time and the bloody guitar player can't even play the riff of the song he's covering. I'm convinced they never would have got a record deal if there was a full band (or a dude on drums)... If you want a good version of this tune just watch Jimi'.

  • @crayrail es a stupido

  • @MrLeslieevan Sooosss la paja Bro

  • @crayrail ignorant

  • I'm sorry, but I'm SO glad he moved on from this amateur.

  • TheWhiteStripes makes it sound like a 4 or 5 piece band

  • I don't think this is by Skip James. Skip's song is called "Hard Time Killing For" and the words don't go that way, not by far.

  • what a desecration of a great song

  • not bad at all... anyone know who did the original killing floor? I know Jimi H. covered it but im unsure where it originated from.

  • @kjohns885 it was howling wolf

  • Megs drumming pisses me off

  • everybody put this as your status

  • Actually not originally by Howlin' Wolf. Wolf's version was derived from Skip Jame's "Hard Time Killin' Floor Blues." Not trying to be a d*ck about it, just want James to get his credit.

  • @TheBeansanddisease this is howlin' wolf's song u dumb ass, skip james is a tottaly different song, it has only some same words in the name, dont play smart when u dont know anything

  • @TheBeansanddisease Nice burn on zokymasa

  • @TheBeansanddisease thanks for the input. I for one really appreciate people sharing their music knowledge with me. It has led me to making great finds :).

  • @TheBeansanddisease I cant see the conection other than the the words Killin' and Floor in the title. I think Howlin Wolf should get the credit as this was one of the few songs he wrote and not Willie Dixon. Give props to Hubert Sumlin also for that signature riff. I am sure that was his idea.

  • @TheBeansanddisease As time rolls along I keep thinking more and more that Skip is the be all. He was musically ahead of his peers with the exception of Lonnie Johnson, though Lonnie wasn't a blues cat like Skip. Skip was the man.

  • @TheBeansanddisease You're not being a dick. The blues has always been one person playing over another person, playing over another, playing over another. That's the beauty of the blues - the timeline that you can trace back; the history; the freight train.

  • It takes talent to suck the soul out of one of the the funkiest blues classics.

  • he sounds kinda like robert plant from 1:12 to 1:15

  • Fleetwood Mac did a great "Killing Floor" on one of their really old albums... probably very late 60's, early 70's..

  • can anyone tell what he's singing after the goodbye baby part? something something something about germany

  • @edmdrnprmths the show was in germany

  • @edmdrnprmths he says "hullabulla good time blah blah be here in GERMANY! I wanna be back home in MEXICO!!!"

  • thumbs up if you wish a shorter version i prefer Jimi Marshall Hendrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hes just so fuckking dope

  • fuckin retarded

  • howlin wolf yu can't compare he isn't playin guitar so overall hendrix will always come out on top for he was the king on the guitar hands down !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @armstrongbrosband ar yu kiddin how da fuk can yu even use hendrix's name with the white stripes no fukin comparison it's like the difference between a carrot and a pear.

  • jack you killed it and im howlin for more!

  • @masterofscotland well, 33 other people think it makes sense. sorry you can't keep up.

  • blues come with trashed guitars or fancy ones. speaking in absolutes is foolish.

  • @abeannabrit only siths deal with absolutes

  • @abeannabrit and its a pretty sexy guitar

  • Pikurown, ur right, not only could he play that fellas shoes, he could play his socks shirt and jeans at the same time while holding a news conference. Well said sir

  • Jack white could play your shoe, if you wear them and make it sound fantastic. he is a genius and that is all to say.

  • god he sounds like Robert Plant on this

  • @Jbakerbass No

  • Jack White's voice sort of reminds me of Robert Plant.

  • I think Chester Burnett is loving this. RIP Wolf

  • It's been mentioned before I think, but Zeppelin to a "killer" version of it too!

  • axccck....

  • NIRVANA is unforgoten (spezial when I have to music like this)

  • or led zeppelin's lemon song?!

  • @TheZmaj15 the song of Led Zeppelin was inspired in this song.

  • Thumbs up if you wish a long version of this song !

  • @rigan91 A long version? How about an infinite version?

  • fuck dubstep.

  • @ armsstrongbrosband jimi all the way

  • dude there is no excuse for an out of tune guitar. do standard or e flat or d tuning but stop thinking people are cool cuz they are famous and their guitar sounds like shit.

  • @SaypheZonE your missing the point. the out of tune guitar is part of jacks technical skill. everything about him from his aggresive approach to the guitar to his crunchy muddy blues is all about raw emotion. pain, anger, aggression, sadness, happiness etc. some people feel it in steve vai, some in hendrix, some in buddy guy...me? i feel jacks guitar deep down, in the raw.

  • @SaypheZonE who's to say what tuning a guitar should be in? a guitar is and extension of the body, and can be changed at will. thats how there is so much soul and beauty in Jack White's playing

  • @SaypheZonE "Cowboys are the only one's who stay in tune anyway" - Jimi Hendrix ;)

  • @DeathByRickenbacker hahahha true

  • jack white does not give a fuck. he will play an out of tune guitar and make thousands of people hear it because something that unexpected is called rock n roll.

  • @whitem00n333 fuck yeah!

  • @whitem00n333 he was tuning into double drop

  • @whitem00n333 That makes no fucking sense

  • Other versions though The White Stripes should just do there own stuff this song needed no help.

  • I listen to this song while I play Killing Floor.

  • this is kickas somehow... i dont know why...it just is

  • all i can say is i would not pay to see this

  • @sllsllsllsllsll I certainly would

  • @sllsllsllsllsll

You realize this is barely a cover, this is just him tuning down between two songs and making it entertaining.

  • Worst rendition ever?

  • @alcoyot nope

  • This is so awesome on a lot of different levels.

  • All versions of this song kick ass I think. Led Zep's version is killer with the bass line.

  • sounds like..... Lemon song by led zeppelin lol

  • @canitovega Led zeppelin based the lemon song on this song. It's an old blues song by howlin' wolf i think.

  • If anyone has it - please post the whole song....

  • Does anyone know from what video this is from? Obviously professionally produced, is it available?? Would love to see the full song.

  • This video is part of their 2007 show at the Rock am Ring Festival in Germany (and actually part of B&B). The whole concert was recorded by the German TV channel "WDR" but only selected songs (about 1 hour from the 90 min set) were actually broadcasted.

I was there in the crowd and had a great time! ^^

  • Any one knowtis at 0:08 that is said ball & biscuit?

  • Soft as Shite!

  • DOSH!

  • i've always wondered how jack gets that "woooww" sound.. the tuning knobs.

    great song..

zeppelin in fact stole this from Howlin wolf as well in Lemon Song.

  • @peacelovewolf Stole? Wrong. Zeppelin incorporated many blues legends into their music. It was more respect and acknowledgement of the great music that influenced Jimmy Page.

  • @rm2551 ..... That makes more sense. :) i agree.

Zeppelin took what was already good, and added their own spices to make it better.

  • This cover of Killing Floor more closely resembles Led Zep's Lemon Song version of Killing Floor than Howlin's original.

  • How is this group not the biggest band in the world? WAIT, I just got the answer, because they are horrible!

  • @burnitdo You're quite obviously on day release.

  • bouncing titties make me smile

  • I'll take Jimi...

  • *looks at comment below* >:O .....oh he/she meant ~talentful~ musicians..

  • these are natural musicians...awesome

  • The White Stripes arent the best band out there but they arent the worst. Anyone in the charts is worse than these guys, but people like Dream Theatre are better than them. Decisive.

  • The White stripes are equivalent to gods.....

if you dont agree with me then i would have to call you a racist homophobe! haha

  • Bouncing boobs :)

  • Good by it's self, but you cant compare it to Hendrix,.... It's its own entity. I'ts a cover.. get over it and like it for what it is. Jack white's version of something great..... P.S. No one can or will ever measure up to Jimmy Hendrix.... bottom LIne.

Jack's version is all about the cool vocals with the guitar as a back up. Fodder for the Fire.

  • @diverdave76 no one will beat howlin wolf. EVER

  • @diverdave76 dude i disagree with the Jimi Hendrix statement. Stevie Ray Vaughan's cover of little wing blew Jimi out of the water hands down. yeah it was Jimi's originally but i think Stevie's the Jesus of guitar.

(dont hold my account name against me its old lol)

  • Shame he stuffs up the lyrics and they no longer make much sense.

  • The thing about Jack White is, he keeps his guitar playing to the bare bones in the White Stripes. In reality, he is fire on guitar. For whatever reason, he pretends to be this solo-hating, groove purist in the White Stripes when he tears shit up on other projects.

  • not quite a hendrix version is it ?

  • Always awesome that instead of Ball and Biscuit they tend to cover the old legends...!

  • I think Jack White has blown the doors open for all musicians.

In a word, don't be afraid to be creative, and don't be afraid to dig into roots.

  • Which do you like better, White Stripes, Jimi Hendrix, or Howlin' Wolf?

  • @armstrongbrosband all good, but hendrix is the man! ps you forgot zeppelin ;)

  • @armstrongbrosband Stripes

  • @armstrongbrosband There all grate that's all i have to say

  • @armstrongbrosband Hendrix at Monterey Pop 67'... the nastiest guitar work you can possibly play.

  • @armstrongbrosband Check out the Electric Flag version, its pretty sick.

  • @armstrongbrosband The Wolf, and only the wolf. Hendrix came close, but most covers have lost something in there that made The great Wolf's... just... perfect. This is not really some of the best work White Stripes have done to say the least, no offense intended here! Love most of their other works though!

  • @armstrongbrosband hendrix and howlin wolf

  • @armstrongbrosband JIMI.. THE WOLF.. WHITE WHO?? C=

  • @armstrongbrosband none of those. The Zeppelin version (the lemon song) is the best

  • @armstrongbrosband Or led Zeppelin (lemon song is cover of this)

  • @armstrongbrosband Led Zeppelin

  • @thematerazzis Okay, I get the message. Led Zeppelin rules the world. Fine.

  • @armstrongbrosband jimi wins, but jack does a damn nice job of it

  • @armstrongbrosband

Howlin' Wolf. This is cool and all, but it doesn't beat the original.

  • @SgtPlmFry

wait now, killing floor was originally a howlin' wolf song.

  • @armstrongbrosband

Haha, yeah I know, man. That's why I wrote "Howlin' Wolf," lol. I meant that this White Stripes version is pretty cool, but it doesn't beat the Howlin Wolf's original masterpiece. I like Wolf's better than Hendrix's and the White Stripes's. Shortly after I first heard Wolf's, I had to get a brain transplant because it blew my mind. Kaboom! :-D

  • @armstrongbrosband Hendrix

  • @armstrongbrosband I love Jack but Hendrix was easily one of the best artists of the 20th century, of all medium. So yeah, hendrix.

  • I love how the White Stripes have all these awesome covers of songs I don't know. I can never get disappointed...

  • goodbye baby, got to go.

  • jack white is one of the best technical players around. it takes alot of talent and hard work to sound like a 1950's blues man. People tend to critisize him on his radio songs. Just cuz he doesn't play the same kind of music as Eddie or Yngwie does't mean it doest take just as much work to create it.

  • @66DrGonzo

I actually think jack white is a great guitar player.

But he is not technical. your confusing hard work ethic and practice with technical ability, as you compare to malmsteen or EVH.

  • this shit is amazing. everything he does is amazing, most of it sounds simple, but to get the technique is alot harder than it sounds, its just badass!

  • Them blues

  • @HurrDurr69 Well if that is all you can point out from what I said to the other chap, then It just proves that I'm right. oh and sorry, Jimi Hendrix.

  • Jack White is under-rated.....White stripes is an emotional story that hits the heart,,,,,,what music should do

  • WDR tell wrong tittle of their song. lol

  • ma lìavete sentita quella di Jimi prima di dire tutte queste cazzate??

    XD ridicola...

  • @Impaktaoff Have you ever heard of a man called Jimmy Hendrix? Now he did a countless number of Bob Dylan covers. A cover is about how you interpret the music and how it affects you. Not only me, but millions of people would agree that Jimmy is a great musician but many of his covers don't even sound vaguely familiar to the originals of Bob Dylan.

  • @AnotherDutchShinobi I've heard of Jimi Hendrix...dunno about "Jimmy Hendrix", though.

  • hahaha the essence of the song is to sound perfect?

or is it to sound raw and emotional?

  • This is such a foolish, self-indulgent cover of a great song. Playing a sloppy, loose interpretation of a song is fine, but when you fail to capture the original essence of the subject material, you're just showing off. He's essentially saying "Hey look, I covered a great song!" without actually covering a great song.

Also, bringing a woman to orgasm has nothing to do with playing guitar. This is known as a "Red Herring" in which you divert attention from the issue at hand.

  • @Impaktaoff Jack White is recognized by the professional guitar playing community as one of the most creative and influential guitarist alive.

    Are you?

  • @Righteousnoise Haha, okay so that's called appeal to authority. "because people say he's good, he must be!". I like it.

    '

  • @Impaktaoff the way you described it actually relates more to appeal to the majority. appeal to authority has to do with one being unqualified when making a claim.. in which case, your retarded.. because its music, and how can one be unqualified to make an assessment on whether or not music is pleasing to ones self?

go back to modes of reasoning.

  • @Impaktaoff the white stripes are known for a different musical ethic. punk-influenced mash up of blues and gritty garage rock, but not quite. im okay with you not liking it, but he is obviously not butchering willie dixon's song. oh yeah, and i bet you didnt know that this song is actually willy dixon's.

by the way, even hendrix didnt 'capture' what howlin wolf captured in his original. it's a damn cover, and you either dont listen to this kind of music or you are ignorant altogether. sorry.

  • 0:08 fail.
