I'll have to call BS on this.

I think it's merely the weight of the Kickport that's muffling the drums, not design or anything like that.

I would like to know how this compares to the EMAD resonant head by Evans.

i pesonaly own a kick port and in my honest opinion i think it works very well. it does exactly what it says it does. i have an emad batter head and no longer need any additional dampening in my bass drum. you definately not only hear the difference but feel the difference also...
