  • to have the courage of one's conviction.. Thanks mr Jarre for this lovely song

  • Oh Captain , My Captain

  • O Captain, my Captain. Who knows where that comes from? Anybody? Not a clue? It's from a poem by Walt Whitman about Mr. Abraham Lincoln. Now in this class you can either call me Mr. Keating, or if you're slightly more daring, O Captain my Captain.

  • Epic music. This film changed my life. Even today, my philosophy of life is Carpe Diem.

  • A really great music by Maurice Jarre!

  • beautiful song, beautiful movie, beautiful ending, beautiful messages - and very, very inspirational. I have never been more inspired to respect the English language and literature than after this, has changed my view on education (although not dramatically, but rather confirmed what I already knew was in my heart), made me realise that no matter what school you attend - we all suffer problems and it's pretty much a film that will touch my heart and continue to inspire and motivate me. beautiful

  • I love htis movie, it's one of my favourites. This scene is so intelligent and brilliant, the messages are so true and important for every human in this world.Love this song and the bagpipes! Seize the day my friend

  • bagpipes are superb in this tune! make me fly away!

  • Love it when the bagpipes kick in. Super stuff.

  • This is real talent, breathing elegance so many years ago in Lawrence of Arabia and still here in Dead Poet's Society, Maurice Jarre you are truly one of the Dead Poets who has sucked the marrow out of life

  • O Captain My Captain

  • This song deserves more than 10 millions views.

  • Oh Captain! My Captain! There no words to describe how this film strikes so deeply into myself. No words.

  • Oh Captain! My Captain!

  • what is the song played when neil commits suicide?

  • Each time I see this movie, I remember why I want to become a teacher someday - and I hope I'll be extraordinary. Carpe diem.

  • @grato And always stand up to your beliefs, no matter what anyone else thinks.

  • Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –

I took the one less traveled by,

And that has made all the difference.

  • @DorianAilis next time, walk between the 2 roads. on your own way !

  • @kalac05

it is not from me. it is a poem from the book. its from robert frost. cretin ...

  • @kalac05 LOL fail

  • @yasminsubba i'm still proud of my sentense. ;) no matter if it's a poem from frost or no.

  • @kalac05 ya, I see your point. But still, the road less travelled by is, in some ways, your own road because you're not following the one everyone else is.

  • @yasminsubba but it's still walked by somes people. :D for me the important person in the world are the person who discoverd new land, et who were the first person to make a new way ;)

  • I believe that if you request this soundtrack from any book store such as Barnes & Nobles or Border. I was going to buy it, but it comes together with the movie.....too pricey for me .

Good luck find it if you haven't.

  • really, I am too.

  • Magari l'avessi inserita io questa musica su You Tube (o addirittura composta), l'avrei dedicata al mio maestro di teatro e di vita, Raffaele: O Capitano, mio Capitano! p.s: thank you, Maurice Jarre! R.I.P.

  • I saw this movie for the first time today, and cried so much at the end. Oh Captain My Captain! I will never look on that phrase the same way again.

  • O Captain, My Captain. I have the goose flesh when I heard this music.

  • no matter how many times I have watched this movie, i can't stop myself from crying...

the tears start soon after Neil kills himself and goes on relentlessly till the last scene with keating leaving and all the boys standing on the benches...

    lovely movie...

  • he is the teacher that we want

  • where can i find this song?

  • I wish I met just one teacher like Keating in my life. But I'm afraid it's hardly possible. Ave Keating !

  • Finding such people like Keating may not be such difficult as it may appear: You have to look int the other's hearts and search for their inner motivation, and soon you will find the Keating of your personal life. For me I have found him, so why won't you? Good luck so far, and best wishes from germany :)

  • love this song at the end of the movie

  • very few times you see in cinema where music can capture the emotion of the scene.

    badass.

  • It's a powerful scene/ending, yes. The motion picture academy in the US needs to make more intelligent movies like this.

  • @audgeyp Instead of more intelligent movies like this, the motion picture academy will make more brain draining movies like High School Musical and Hannah Montana :(

  • Unfortunately, I think you are right!
