Touch controls are fun, responsive and logical (unlike Trauma Center), there's a nice smooth difficulty curve, it has a great sandbox element in that you get your own car to work on.
Best DS game I've played this year, and I've played them all!. It makes me wonder why there's so much low quality crud out there for the DS when it's capable of gems like Touch Mechanic.
While I agree its a cool game, you obviously havent played alot of DS games; I mean theres: Trauma Center 2 Ninja Gaiden Chou Soujuu Mecha MG Daigasso Band Brothers DX Time Hollow Draglade 2 Zombie Shiki English of the Dead Disgaea FFIV The World Ends With You etc
I mean this year though. Really I'm not into the RPG games on DS. Trauma Center 2 was just too difficult for me, stopped being fun. There are lots of good games, but nothing so far this year has grabbed me like TM.
I thought Lifesigns Surgical Unit was much better than TC/TC2 - even though the story is really weird there's none of that star power rubbish.
You travel and collect up to around 70 or 80 giant robots and control them with the stylus (each with unique controls) to battle other mecha or other type of missions. Around over 130 missions.
3D thir person game. Its based on an old PS2 game called R.A.D.
Just seen the trailer of the game here and It's funny cause IGN talked about it on an article a few days ago called "the top 15 most bizarre games on DS" and I was "damn the fact you can drive the robot on a race via the touch screen" .
Is it fun to play ? Are the races and fights exciting and varied or are they repetitive ?
Yeah there are a lot of missions. Its one of the best DS games to make use of the 2nd screen because it's like you basically controlling a giant robot.
Very fun to play...one of the missions later on unlocks a vs mode and the fights and missions are varied because each controls are unique and some missions are races or certain requirement challenges.
really enjoy this game are they making a part 2?

but what will throw it over the top is, can you drive the car at all?

There's another doctor game like them that came out for the Simple DS series; called The Gekai.
Dont know if its any good though.
English of the Dead is a must own and Hokuto no Ken is like Ouendan but with ass kicking.
Dragon Ball Origins should be cool, and if you dont have Chou Soujuu Mecha MG (old game) get it now
