@TheJosh1111111111111 completely disagree. i think they bring a totally different feel to their live shows that can't be reproduced in-studio. and their in-studio music is tough to exactly reproduce on-stage. you get an amazing performance either way.

and yah--the recording isn't the greatest, but they're still an amazing band.

@loatfeild- they could get a harmonizer or more female singers. The multitracking and interesting videos seem to be the biggest appeal. It is hard to hear any song here live. They should try to reinvent the live show like they did with their recordings and videos. Live they aren't doing anythin to distinguish themselves from the pack. would be interesting to see how they improve the live show.

Some bands are better as recording artists, I believe they are in this category. Actually all this type of music(indie style) I love it, but I would rather listen to it on a CD than see it live. When I see artists live, I want to see production. it just makes the whole live experience better. You dont just have your ears when its live. You have your eyes too.

As others have said, pretty difficult to reproduce the clean studio quality live with so few people. With that being said, in a live situation Jack needs to "clean up" the guitar sound so there is some substance to the chords. There has to be more than bass, drums, vocals and "noise". I really love the group, though. Gotta retool that "live" sound.

i don't know what the expectation is. sometimes bands just sound better on the CD. The problem is that they're 2 ppl and have a lot of sound on their studio version that they can't make up for live unless they have more ppl.

I feel like for a live show they should change up the performance so that it doesn't sound empty without other sounds

This is amazing, To all people saying that Nathaly is out of tune, please be so kind and shut up. It is common that a singers vocal range goes down at live concerts, at least if they are nervous, and I think Nathaly still does an amazing job.

@SubsonicNoise it's not that it's flat - the sound in there clearly sucks and I'm surprised that the recording turned out as good as it did - it's that she is also clearly off key in several places and can't hold the note in others. Seen lots of acts all over the world that simply can't deliver live. I think they're in that camp. Doesn't mean their recorded stuff isn't good or worth listening to. :) Don't think of it as hating on them. It isn't.

She even seems a bit shy in the regular videos, so it's possible that she has a bit of stage fright, which can, as I said, influence the vocal range and therefore make it diffcult for her to sing those songs on key. Nothing unusual about this, happened to many musicians before.

I actually really love the drum & bass feel they got going on live. If you seen Imogen Heap perform, you'd realize that it COULD be possible for them to perform their music with three people, maybe even one person... but it's definitely not as fun as this. :)

However, the actual reason her voice sounds (barely) off tune, is because in videosongs, they don't play multiple instruments at once. Here, shes singing, AND playing bass.

If you're gonna be pissy about autotune, take it out on a band that actually uses it.

Oh, and they only used a digital effect in the original song 'cause it sounded good there.
